I've got a kicker comp c 10 getting 160wrms,what would be the best db level to use for for tuning,I only use pandora and most songs just dont have enough bass to start with, without buying a processor
@@mjl6425 0db sets your subs a bit lower than usual to have headroom for bass boosted music and such. -5db is still kinda safe for that but you would use this if you are more often than not using music apps or listening to radio/CDs. It's at your own risk, even 0db wont save you from clipping but it is the safest route
@volunteeraudio thanks for the help....what about the headunit any thing to tune on that or just the gain dail on the amplike we talked about over the phone the other day🫡
I’m trying to use a 40 dollar oscilloscope that nearly everyone has said will at least get you somewhere near clipping, but I can’t figure this damn thing out. I finally got it to do the big waves but the thing never showed any signs of clipping. The waves were FLYING a million miles an hour and I figured okay maybe I’ll still be able to see when it clips and after turning the gain all the way up, I never saw it. So I turned the whole thing back down and I’m annoyed cuz every step of the way has been a problem
My sub just doesn’t clip when I crank up the gain, or the bass boost. It just gets louder and makes the car vibrate more😂
Test with a distortion detector, it is hard to hear clipping with a subwoofer but you will burn the coil if you turn the gain too high
@@volunteeraudio alright thanks. It’s at 60% right now. Have to buy the detector tho…
Thanks got my 15 inch sub tuned good bumps so much better now that I got my oscilloscope
Great!

40hz -5db
@@volunteeraudio thanks, hell of a difference!
What’s the difference between a normal 40 Hz test tone and -5 Db?

What test tone would yall suggest for my rockford set up with the new soundstream si😊
1khz -5db for setting gains

Using these test tones off of RUclips, are they good enough clean enough or do you need something better?
I prefer to use a usb flash drive but not all radios have cd or usb drives to send the audio in

Buy a Dd-1 distortion detector, you can not get cheap tools and expect good results
You just need to slow it down. There's time option in mili seconds.
I’ve got the hertz 6x9 690 neo in my bag what test tone would u recommend believe on the DD-1 it says 4 or 6 thanks…
You would use the 1khz -5db track
@@Chevy243 4 or 6 is for subwoofers
@@volunteeraudio huh? But track 4 is the 1khz -5db
@@Chevy243 track 4 is correct then, I have it on usb so no track numbers on it
😮
👍
-10db is better
Louder but not better, -10db will set your gains to clip and blow
Thought someone might say that I listen very close to the sound and bass besides I listen to a lot of 70s 80s music-10db makes it sound a lil better
