  • I reviewed the Yamaha PSR-9000 recently, ad was surprised at how wide the gap was between that model and the PSR-6000.

    A good instrument. I’ve had loads of keyboards over many years including the stunning PSR-8000. I’m now a proud Genos owner.

    I love how this keyboard calls the rhythm variation as "Verse & Chorus" rather than simply "Variation A - B - C - D" seen in later high-end Yamaha PSR models

    Still. It;s a Solid Keyboard. Sounds Great frim itls day. I enjoyed it. as i listen to the voices. It seems to me over the years Yamaha Put these classic sounds in the Psr E series. Especially the Piano sounds. I might hunt for one of these classic Arrangers. I love it. So Cool. 8)

    I still own a PSR 6000, it was the 2nd keyboard I bought for my daughter (used this a box full of Floppy disc with 80s and 90s hits), but she only used the Piano sound - playing nowadays only classical piano.
    I still use it today because of the Midi functions to test other equipment - but is now too heavy to take in on gigs.

    I would regard the PSR-6000 first actual Yamaha flagship (though i wouldn't agree on the models prior to this one because that was hard to determine). I never understood the PSR-6000 even though it is my most favorite 1990's vintage. It's even more different than the PSR-640 and 740. But yeh you would get to know its a more expanded version of the PSR-6700. This was actually Yamaha's try on the arranger workstation scene at that time.

    PSR-8000 - style-wise it's equivalent PSR-530, 630, 730. But what equivalent of PSR-6000? PSR-500? 510? 520?

    Looks and sounds like yamahas version of the casio mz2000 but without any of the magic and mojo.

    This is out of topic but do u know any way by which i can use my psr e263 as a midi...

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  4 года назад

      I don't, sorry. If it has a USB socket then you can control computer software. Then from the computer you can direct midi to another keyboard, but it becomes very inconvenient, complicated and unreliable.

    I never understood the PSR-6000. It was really expensive because of the large display, but it didn't sound better than the regular PSR models. That changed a lot with the PSR-8000, which sounds are still used in modern PSRs.

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  4 года назад +2

    Is the PSR 8000/9000 better than 6000 in term of sound quality, or just have more sounds?

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  3 года назад

      It just replaces about 80 Sounds with region-specific sounds. The quality is the same, it just depends what sounds you prefer or need.

    • @gearfacts

      1) ВЫКЛЮЧИТЕ клавиатуру. 2) Нажмите и удерживайте крайнюю правую белую клавишу (C) при включении клавиатуры. 3) После включения питания отпустите кнопку. Клавиатура будет повторно инициализирована до исходных заводских настроек. :) Gearfacts
