I'm mostly hoping to ignore new releases in 2024, but both Knife and Annie Bot sound so interesting to me!

After all the books I got, I have an actual tbr stack for the first time, so I’ll have to get through that first now 🤣

I love your videos! But can you provide the book picture next to you for a bit longer?

I’ll definitely read the Salman Rushdie and Stephen Fry releases this year.
I’m really not sure about these ‘retellings’ of classic novels. If you want to read them then why not just read the original? Demon Copperhead is another example. As a huge fan of Dickens, I just can’t see myself ever wanting to read a ‘retelling’ of his work.
    Each to their own though.
    Happy New Year!

Oh, absolutely do read the originals, but (good) retellings can add perspectives the original lacked, looking at a same story, but from another angle.

@@cafeaulivre probably me being naive here but it just seems a bit lazy on the part of the author. I just don’t see why classic novels need to be retold from different perspectives.
I think I’m too much of an old traditionalist 😂

Fair enough, if you ever feel like it though, I’d recommend Circe by Madeline Miller.

You might recognize one or two of the characters ;)
Should be out by the end of March
