Just wondering right: what is more efficient 1. Finishing cattle with quality silage and bought in ration or 2. Finishing them your way by growing all you own stuff ? you can finish an18 month old heifer in shed for about €100 ration and 3 bales (2kg for 2 weeks, 4kg for next 4/6 weeks and 6kg for last 2 weeks… just throwing that one out there at you
@Del-xr9nx we finish heifers off grass at 18m in 6kg straight barley for 6 weeks. Bulls cows or bullocks are a different story. At scale a.diet feeder is the only way to go

@@Del-xr9nx that is about €6 day our tmr is costing just over half that
@Del-xr9nx not saying your system.is wrong because every farm is different but what u do wouldn't work for us
