      Your comparing 420mm with slightly less than A Ton from 1957 with 600mm of around 2 tons from 1940 (But the transformer had at least a increase in Range)

    • @LocalDeepstateAgent
      @LocalDeepstateAgent 2 года назад +3

      The Karl Gerät was much older and "chambered" in 600mm not 400mm. The soviets could have done a lot better but considering it was more of a propaganda project im not surprised they didnt put any money in it.

      totally useless artillery, it has about 0 accuracy, huge and slow, easy to be detected by anti-artillery radars and destroyed in counter-battery battle, can be used in battle against civilians but not against the army

    • @LocalDeepstateAgent
      @LocalDeepstateAgent 2 года назад +1

      @@Devnbp1 Well first of all mister reddit general, these were ww1/2 artillery there was no aRtiLlErY rAdaR. Neither were there any jdams or laser guided sdbs you could drop. To reinforce these machines they also were placed fairly far behind frontlines and protected by several anti air batteries and usually a flight of several interceptors on standby to do what they do best and intercept any incoming bombers. Were they easy targets? Yes were they slow to reload? Yes. But getting to them was a lot more difficult and their accuracy was good enough to fulfill their purpose which was blowing giant holes into big bunker arrays on a reinforced front.

    regarding the french CAESAR cannon, i don't know where you got the production numbers, but its not a miserable "8", otherwise that would mean we send avery last one of them in afghanistan 😅
    you probably got confused with the variants as the cannon system can be mounted on different chassis, but overall there has been 400 ish build, around three quarters of that were exported.

    May I just ask why you keep forgetting the SU-100Y? In videos where you feature tanks of the Soviet Union, you forget that the SU-100Y was a tank destroyer, and in this video, you forget it was also an SPG (Yes, it's both an SPG and a tank destroyer). If you want information, I'll give you some history of it. The SU-100Y is armed with the 130mm B-13 Naval Gun which was intended to destroy Finnish fortifications, but since it was manufactured after the Winter War, it was brought to Kubinka. And when the Germans got to Moscow, it was pressed into service along with the 152mm-gun-armed SU-14. It survived the war and is now at Kubinka Tank Museum. Don't forget it next time. You can find the rest of the information and history somewhere.

    • @vitkosbence3705
      @vitkosbence3705 2 года назад +2

      You can't really include that, as one it never left the prototype stage, and two what was built during the prototype stage wasn't self propelled, it was just a turret basically. What you see in games is based on the way it's displayed in the British tank museum, where they just kinda slapped it on top of a centurion lower.
      Really the fv4005 was more about prototyping the gun, rather than a tank. The prototype with an actual hull, (the other was well and truly just a gun) mainly had a hull just to simulate reloading this thing in a closed space. Realistically if the gun had passed testing the vehicle itself would most likely not have had an actual turret.

    • @Geniusinventor

      @@vitkosbence3705 soo some of these SPG in this video are actually were made in real life?

    • @vitkosbence3705
      @vitkosbence3705 2 года назад +2

      @@Geniusinventor I imagine what you meant is that some were not made in real life or rather only had a single prototype like the last one (the vid has production numbers you know). However even when we talk prototypes the fv4005 is still way less realistic as an spg as they never even went into the sp part. The program was just about the feasibility of the gun itself, which they found was not feasible. Basically no prototype ever existed where the gun was actually properly mounted on a lower that would've been adequate for the final product.
