  • “Young people are building communities of care and collaboration that have yet to be recognized by many of us,” Najeeba Syed says during the 2022 Festival of Faiths session Changing Story Keepers: Millennials and Gen Zers . “We need to start to begin to see the sacred, and the incredible activism, and the challenge to religion maybe even itself that is coming down the line; and maybe that challenge is welcome, because there must be new ways to build the sacred on this planet together."
Syeed is the inaugural El-Hibri endowed chair and executive director of Interfaith at Augsburg. She's been a professor, expert practitioner and public speaker for the last two decades in the fields of conflict resolution, interfaith studies, mediation, education, deliberative democracy, social, gender and racial equity.

    About the Festival of Faiths
Based in Louisville, Kentucky, the Festival of Faiths is a nationally acclaimed interfaith event of music, poetry, film, art and dialogue focused on a contemporary theme and featuring a diverse lineup of spiritual leaders, teachers and practitioners.
The 2022 Festival of Faiths, Sacred Stories: Contemplation and Connection , celebrated the power of narratives to inspire purpose, instill a sense of belonging and define our lives. The festival investigated old and new stories through the lens of faith and explored how our identities are shaped by associations with religion, culture, politics, heritage and more. Sessions engaged participants in the sacred work of sharing stories to illuminate both our complexity and our interdependence.

That's why it wont fly with the typical American...I have a friend who is a RepubliCON... who said Reagan privatized prisons for solely the sake of efficiency...I readily sold her some oceanfront property in Scottsbluff Nebraska. Conservative right wing religious crowd eclipses in violence n ignorance any terrorist group I've ever seen
