      Contrary to your post, I had the first gen box 1 with the cam clutch and it had weak knuckle since it snapped in half. Luckily for me they replaced the entire derailluer with their updated model, which was significantly beefier and has their tripack clutch. Unfortunately with my luck after a few rides I had the high limit screw get bashed out by the derailluer, stripping the body. No other issues or damage done. Even though box doesn't cover stripped parts, or bent parts under warranty, they still replaced the body of the derailluer. Customer service wise I think this is the best out there. Hopefully I have no more issues from here on out 🤞, and am even considering getting their new prime 9.

    I've run into Toby a couple of times on the Fullerton Loop. Cool, down to earth guy. It's a shame that interesting push-push shifter got hemmed up with patent nonsense from a company that won't even produce it. I'd try a Box drivetrain for sure.

    I just converted my 2x10 fat bike SLX drivetrain to a box one 11 speed (rd, shifter, chain, & box two cassette). Honestly, it is a bit overkill for what I do with the bike, but I got a deal I couldn't resist. With that said, it has been flawless so far. Couldn’t really afford a new bike. Have an old ‘07 Giant Anthem 1 26” wheel that is in really good condition but I have always hated the 3x drivetrain.
    Decided to upgrade to a 1x with a Box 2 drivetrain. Up front is a Wolf Tooth 38 wide/narrow that bolted right onto the old triple.
    Removed the front derailleur and as it was a triple, the chain line is maintained.
    The cassette is 11-46 and with replacement of the old cable housing and realigning the hangar this setup has been really nice!
    Since the original video, they have made a bracket to integrate with Shimano brake levers (really simple to install).
    I was worried about the clearance with the 26” wheel and while it is not optimal clearance; it will allow me to get a few more years out of the Giant.
    Very happy with the new setup!

    First I have been a Shimano XT guy for years! Bomb proof performance! When they came out with the 11-46, I was building a new bike. So I went 1X for the first time. Liked it but not love. I felt the spread was wrong and I need a 32t front to make some climbs still. So in comes BOX 11-46 with a more even spread!!! Much better!!! Then I tried a 34t oval up front to help with climbing. Now I love my drive train! Oh forgot Box cassettes shift smoother with Sram chains than Shimano!

Its friggin cold here in ontario canada right now so I havent ridden it, but it installed and setup incredibly easy and the parts feel very robust. I’ve been running the Box One derailleur with the 11-46 cassette and the Box Two shifter. The real Achilles heel seems to be the shifter. It requires a lot of travel to dump multiple gears. I’ve since replaced the Box shifter with a Shimano XT shifter and it has been great. Considering I had to swap out the shifter and the price between Box Two components and Shimano XT are virtually within a few dollars of each other, it’s hard to make a case to go with Box in my eyes.

    With the bike brand I ride all their mountain bikes come standard with sram XX1 11 speed drivetrain with a 10-42 cassette and I never find myself needing more gears so I would much rather have that instead of a NX or GX eagle.

    If in California get these components on a Mondraker and you will stand out from the crowd... Living in the UK not so much with the Mondraker.

    What about their Prime 9? Same range less gears, leading to a stronger chain... plus who really uses all 11 or 12 gears?

    Living in the UK where would I get a replacement next day delivery if I broke something? When I break a XT mech or shifter i can have a new one same day or next day. (And it would be the same for SRAM).

    Never buy anything from Box Components. They do not honor their warranties. My shifter broke during the warranty period. I submitted a warranty claim to be told that they had phased out the 11 speed line. They offered 30% off a new groupset or advised me to buy a Shimano 11 speed shifter. So they wanted me to spend more money with them or another company to honor their own warranty. Don’t waste your time on Box, find another company that actually stands behind their products.

    I would definitely trry one if they had one to compete with my Shimano xtr on a 3x10 set up. Yes I said 3x10 o my hard tail XC bike lol. Nothing shifts as easy as it even to this day with all the new stuff out.

    SRAM 12 spd is nothing but problems, crunching gears all the time, missed shifts and extremely noise. Less is more, I want to try this 11 spd.

    the box cassette is pretty much a more expensive sunrace cassette though

    • @bluestraycat
      @bluestraycat 6 лет назад

      Yes it is just a re-branded Sunrace cassette. What's wrong with that though? I'm running the Sunrace (Box)! 11-46 and it's awesome so far!

    • @ultiss
      @ultiss 6 лет назад

      @@bluestraycat not saying it is a bad cassette, but you would waste money by buying it with a box logo. i see the box2 11-46 for sale for 98 euro, which is a whopping 50 euros more expensive as a sunrace 11-46
