Taylor you deserved better and you were better. You should get your behind from that marriage, leave Ridge for the streets (meaning Brooke), maintain friendship with Stephanie, be a daughter to the coolest father in the show (Jack) move on with your career and someday find a guy who's worthy of you (*cough* Pierce *cough*).
Putting out "fires" is a theme of this episode... The elevator accident forces Sally to cool her jets, Dylan and Maggies romantic interlude is cooled off by Jessica's visit, and Brooke throws a blanket on the home fires of Casa Bridge. 🙃💧🌬️
Annnnd... Again... Ridge says he can't abandon Brooke AND THE CHILDREN. The dialogue and stories keep making it clearer and clearer that Ridge has been giving alot of weight to the father role he has been playing for almost a year to Eric's kids 🥴. And yes I know they all think bridgit is Ridge's, but they all also KNOW Eric Jr isn't. This, to me, is a different scenario from previously, where Ridge was married to and living with Taylor, so even tho he felt he had some responsibility towards bridgit, he really had no responsibility for Eric Jr (even tho Brooke tried her best to foist him into the package), and at that time, he could simply stay married to Taylor and prob work something out to be part of Bridgit's life without actually having to live with her or be married to her mother. It was the 90s..ppl did that all the time. But now, as many of us have pointed out, too much time has elapsed during Taylor's "death" where Ridge has been able to be a live in father and now even Eric Jr is calling his older bro, daddy. This is a different consideration for Ridge. It's clear to me. The choice isn't just Brooke v Taylor..
Exactly! Also because Taylor was Ridge's legal wife back then (which Brooke _isn't_ now) she didn't have any leverage (no children, no company) and thus it was a bigger sacrifice when Taylor gave Ridge the freedom to choose. It was a clean clear Good Girl move. Brooke is trying to mimic that move and it's certainly an improvement on her previous behavior, but it's still not as dignified a move because she still has (and is using) leverage.
This is true - Ridge has actually grown to love his role as a family man, and that weighs into his decision. The ironic part is that if Taylor hadn't originally decided to make that "sacrifice" for the children, Ridge could easily have walked away from them with no complications for the children because Ridge, Brooke and the children _weren't_ yet a family at that point (when they were on their honeymoon, the children hadn't even experienced living with Ridge in the house yet). But _now,_ the children actually do have a claim to Ridge because he has taken on that role as father figure in their lives. If Taylor had shown herself sooner, this wouldn't have happened.
He will apologize to her later in life in 2002/2003 era about holding her back and leading her on…. Never fully letting her go. They were obsessed with each other not just one sided IMO.
Yes, she has managed to move on without him multiple times from the late 80s even. She had the power to either leave or accept it when she was dumped and move on quickly. But the way that he always eventually wants her back and lures her back, make her also feel entitled to interfere when he doesn't want her and hold that hope. Which hope eventually always does come true since he will end up with Brooke no matter what. Perhaps if she stopped it and kept the decision at some point, she would have been happier. But she seems to be tied to Ridge forever, and I don't think this will ever change.
As if Brooke ever did something for anyone, but herself! Ridge was always so blind and naive, when it comes to that manipulative and selfish snake!🐍 Using her children again, what a surprise! And her insecurities concerning Taylor are so obvious... Jessica, Dylan and Maggie bore me endlessly... The only one worth watching today, was Sally😂🙈
Brooke looks good today! The styling team _finally_ got it right after months of making her look drab and older. Red is a great color on her, the makeup is nice and subtle and does what makeup is supposed to do on TV (hide those wrinkles and crow's feet) and they laid off the bronzer that was giving her a harsher look. Even the shorter hair is nice today. She looks her age and fresher.
Translation to what Brooke really meant to say- "I know Taylor is a better person and prettier than me and is much better suited for you, but please just stay with me out of obligation to the children."
This episode is written so much like a soap opera..Don't worry Sal..Most young women like Macy are in this EXACT same suitation !!. 😂😂 Dylan is turning into such a jerk !!.
Jasmine's "slave" comment. 😬 You can tell this was written in the 90s (and by whom!). That whole scene with her and Sally was awkward and borderline offensive.

Ridge doesn't need Brooke's permission to do that though. He can spend time with Taylor whenever he wants to. He just hasn't wanted to do it, apparently.
@@annieo6527 Hence my quotations . I do think though that Ridge would feel guilty to do that though without asking for Brooke's consent..we already saw him telling Brooke that he blames himself for her emotional turmoil (Brooke's ). Nevertheless the writing shows that the plan is to have Ridge stay with Brooke and Taylor moving to other storyline....ie Eric...which Brad Bell will regret soon enough , and of course Hunter Tylo 's leave later on changes the original plan (in my opinion that is) to have Taylor in a relationship with Grant, and RIdge being jealous (ie a repeat of Connor/brooke)
Miss Volunteer has been forgotten.... 😂😂. Ridge felt so connected to her and now that he can see again and Wifegate took over it's like she never existed. It's been ages since I've seen this storyline with Anthony and his final demise but since Sally mentioned a faulty elevator, my mind is already churning lol.
What exactly happened when Maggie went to the bathroom to "freshen up". She entered the bathroom as a "fish out of water" who was increasingly insecure about her potential young lover. When she exists and returns to the living room, she becomes Brooke 2.0.
Seems like Ridge never really had to choose. Since Taylor's return, he's been indifferent, almost seeing her as a problem, besides for a little time when Omar appeared (because how dare another man claim to have married my ex) There was no issue of him choosing. Not even a small consideration. Brooke is in his mind still his wife even if the marriage is cancelled. Taylor with her going to court, now Brooke sending him away, are the ones who want him to choose. He is already where he wants to be, for now.
I have to agree on some level... We are yet to see Ridge show any real concern for Taylor, which is weird considering she showed up from the dead. And if Brooke didn't pack Ridge's bag and send him on a thinking trip, he was literally planning to come home and go to bed like normal... I just think his entire reaction is strange. But it also is very one sided, and if I were either Brooke or Taylor, I'd take that as an indication of where he was leaning.
@@marn25 Well, I’m thinking it was more of Taylor’s side being portrayed as she decides to reveal herself to Ridge to take back the life she gave up so many months ago. It all turned for Taylor when she became the Volunteer…she drew close to Ridge in his blindness. Ridge was connecting with the volunteer. But once Taylor revealed herself to Ridge in hopes of their reuniting….Ridge backed off to that reality. But not Taylor…this was her Vision and her desire. Though she got no feedback from Ridge…his silence was telling her it would still be possible? 😳 It appears after the court hearing Taylor is having the revelations she should have had in the first place? How her being the legal wife may not work to her advantage…due to the passage of time? While Brooke is having her own revelation that she feels Ridge needs time alone to decide what he truly wants? ☺️
@@bettyhopson his silence was telling her it could still be possible? -That sounds possible. Taylor underestimated Ridge's feelings for Brooke and their history, and the fact they lived as a family with children for some time. Of course in the last few episodes we saw her as more down to earth and doubting that Ridge will return to her even if their marriage is valid. She shows some logic.
@@marn25 Yes, and suddenly thinking about Brooke’s feelings? When has Taylor ever thought about Brooke’s feelings where it concerns Ridge? @@lil_jon411 Maggie was doing what she thought was best. She didn't send her to live with strangers but with family while she was going through a divorce. When I was 11 years old I was so invested in that love battle between Brooke and Taylor, always rooting for Taylor, but now I'm 20 years older and my gosh, Brooke is exhausting, Ridge is exhausting... this whole thing is just horrible, one more of Brooke's speeches and I'm gonna fall asleep.
Yes to all of this
Great ideas, but the show would've been boring if everyone made the right choices. 😅

Maggie and Dylan are awkward but better than Maggie and Jimbo raising Sheila’s baby
Women always taking charge of Ridge. Both Taylor and Brooke have told him to go away and decide who he wants. Wash, rinse, repeat.
🥴
Right? Happens every time he changes his mind and wants to ditch one for the other again. So played out over the years.

For a minute I thought it was Ridge & Brooke in the thumbnail. My apologies to Maggie!
Looks like Brooke's old condo set is turned into Dylan's apartment.
@@Esi-741 I was getting ready to praise them for using dim lighting for Brooke too.
@@jonfoerster 😆 I was about to ask what were you going to say before you realized it wasn't Brooke in the thumbnail!
1:42 true.
She acts like Brooke here, at the end: she talks about needs to be satisfied...
If someone is that special to you Dylan, then why are you have romantic dinners and rolls on the beach with someone else lol.
He’s becoming a Eric or ridge …
Putting out "fires" is a theme of this episode... The elevator accident forces Sally to cool her jets, Dylan and Maggies romantic interlude is cooled off by Jessica's visit, and Brooke throws a blanket on the home fires of Casa Bridge. 🙃💧🌬️
Why did they put up a sign saying "Elevator is out of order"? If shes still alive she gonna sue!
Can you imagine being interviewed by a Sally Spectra type? Would anyone still want the job after that ?!
Annnnd...
@@NewYorkNick0607 love it 😊
Trish I love it 🥰
Your so right about that
This is true - Ridge has actually grown to love his role as a family man, and that weighs into his decision.
In breaking her obsession with Ridge, Brooke shows areas of strength. Yet, he keeps stringing her along.
He will apologize to her later in life in 2002/2003 era about holding her back and leading her on…. Never fully letting her go. They were obsessed with each other not just one sided IMO.
@@kimlambert2127
It did take awhile. Finally in 2005 Brooke will dump Ridge…and then he works long and hard to get her back! 😮💕
Spot on! Couldn't have said it better myself!
Exactly.
I'm so fed up of this insanity....he still needs time to think, seriously !!
I didn't think so....
"hide those wrinkles and crow's feet" 😆😆😆
She still looks a good 10-15 years older than Ridge though.
She looks great!!
Translation to what Brooke really meant to say- "I know Taylor is a better person and prettier than me and is much better suited for you, but please just stay with me out of obligation to the children."
perfect translation
Fan fiction is so sad here
This episode is written so much like a soap opera..Don't worry Sal..Most young women like Macy are in this EXACT same suitation !!. 😂😂 Dylan is turning into such a jerk !!.
Jasmine's "slave" comment. 😬 You can tell this was written in the 90s (and by whom!). That whole scene with her and Sally was awkward and borderline offensive.

actually Brooke, you should have "allow" Ridge to go spend time alone with Taylor , which he never truly did even since her return.

Since Taylor's return, he's been indifferent, almost seeing her as a problem, besides for a little time when Omar appeared (because how dare another man claim to have married my ex)
There was no issue of him choosing.
@@TriniT21 Exactly, he showed no indication he was even thinking of making any changes from his current life, not even a hint.
@@marn25
Well, I’m thinking it was more of Taylor’s side being portrayed as she decides to reveal herself to Ridge to take back the life she gave up so many months ago.
It appears after the court hearing Taylor is having the revelations she should have had in the first place? How her being the legal wife may not work to her advantage…due to the passage of time? While Brooke is having her own revelation that she feels Ridge needs time alone to decide what he truly wants? ☺️
@@bettyhopson his silence was telling her it could still be possible? -That sounds possible.
Taylor underestimated Ridge's feelings for Brooke and their history, and the fact they lived as a family with children for some time.
Of course in the last few episodes we saw her as more down to earth and doubting that Ridge will return to her even if their marriage is valid. She shows some logic.
@@marn25
Yes, and suddenly thinking about Brooke’s feelings? When has Taylor ever thought about Brooke’s feelings where it concerns Ridge? Taylor from the beginning was in competition with Brooke for Ridge. Taylor often cares about Ridge’s feelings…while ignoring her rivals position other than to make judgements? 😠
Granted Brooke lacks compassion for Taylor…because of their antagonistic
history. 😮
At least Maggie doesn't know she's dating her daughter's guy. I wish they would have had Jessica see Dylan and Maggie together but they have to drag this out. It would have been very dramatic. Maggie is a good mother and I know she wouldn't steal her daughters man, or sneak behind her back. This is the difference between a good mother and a horrible mother.
Maggie is a good mother? Right...
“Maggie is a good mother” who sent her daughter off to live with strangers and had no problem abandoning her even though she kept her other child with her?….ok
Where is Maggie's other daughter? Isn't she even younger than Jessica?
@@lil_jon411 Maggie was doing what she thought was best. She didn't send her to live with strangers but with family while she was going through a divorce. You may not agree with her but she did what she thought was best. As parents we don't always get it right but if the intention is out of love, that's being a good parent. Maggie wasn't being selfish unlike another mother on this show. Also I don't think she has another kid. I'm pretty sure that Eric's brother remarries and the new wife is the mother of Ivy.
You talk about Maggie being a good mother and the difference between a good mother and a horrible mother. Its okay if you just single out Brooke in reference to the traits of a horrible mother. 😂

Maggie says that she has never shared a man. Well Barbara and Kathleen does share a man - me.

I kind of feel the same way when I saw my wives Barbara and Kathleen in that scene in Fraternity Vacation as on a certain level I did try to move on from that but never could.
This is episode 2085 and quite fitting that it is 100 after 1985 and 1985 is when Fraternity Vacation was released and also fittingly that this came in 1995 ten years after 1985.
No doubt when my wife Barbara did this episode it felt more like to her 100, rather than 10, years since she did Fraternity Vacation.
