    To finish an endurance race, its already a victory for the team. Devlopping a fast car and make reliable for beating it for 24h is an unbelivable thing. Hope to see toyota come back next year and win it this time!

    • @265justy
      @265justy 8 лет назад +1

      Let us not forget the joke that is German car reliability vs Japanese .. Have Audi done F1 ?? Toyota have done many forms of Motorsport and have had lots of success !! Mazda were banned from Le Man cause they used a Rotary and won !! Let them again & Audi would get their ass handed to them ..

    • @gamefan56
      @gamefan56 8 лет назад +1

      265justy Keep dreaming. Remember how well it went for fellow japanese manufacture Nissan when they gave LMP1 a try? And speaking of reliability, sure the Toyotas were more reliable but what use it is when your car breaks down 5 minutes from the finish? It the 24h of lemans not 23h 55m of Le Mans.

  • @genrandolph
    @genrandolph 8 лет назад +26

    And so the Toyota's Le Mans history continues to write as the #5 TS050 driven by Nakajima is leading to victory in the last minute of Le Mans 2016, but disaster striked the car, allowing the #2 Porsche to snatch the lead and wins, while the #6 TS050 claims 2nd. *sigh* it broke my heart when I say the #5 car taking the lead but then lost its power. But that's not over, as there is 6 more rounds to recover and there's another chance of winning next year.Despite that I like the Porsche LMP1, I still support for you Toyota as the next Japanese Le Mans winner after Mazda. Reliability and courage are among the keys to succes. 🏁 🔴 🏁 🎌🗻 #respect #LeMans24 #weshallnevergiveup

      They banned the Rotary from Le Man after Mazdas win in 91. !!! Very unfair move at the time. If the Rotary was left compete there afterwards .... Mazda would have had a lot more wins .. Its not bad luck on Toyotas behalf.. they had more chances & races than Mazda ... but Mazda got better results with less races ..The 787b is the most iconic & legendary Japanese Le Man race car of all time .. Nothing that Toyota has comes close at all !! The GT1 aint a patch on the 787b..

    • @maitele
      @maitele 7 лет назад +7

      265justy Correction, they banned pretty much anything that wasn't the 3.5L engines being used in F1 at that time. the FIA was salty that the WEC was catching up to F1 in popularity.

      In motorsport, as with most other things in life, the 5 P's rule applies (Preparation Prevents Pixx Poor Performance) and it is hard to find a better example of the benefits of sticking to this rule than the circumstances surrounding Mazda's win in the 1991 Le Mans 24 Hours. It's true winning doesn't mean anything when it happens like Mazda did..... No team has been favored by the organization as Mazda has in 1991. When you are a true fan endurance racing it might be an idea to look for some facts...... Doesn't take away that I am still surprised that the engine held for 24 hours that is an achievement. Still doesn't make it a fair win.

Performance better than 90% cars on European roads today and efficiency better than 99,9% cars. If you do not like futuristic and strange shape of Prius buy Lexus CT200h - the same power train.

      Going by their performance so far this year. We'll be waiting a long time. 2014 was their best chance and they blew it. Now it's going to be Porsche vs Audi until the VW Group decides they want to put Audi in F1. As Porsche is more suited to endurance racing than Audi and with Toyota also working on their Yaris for a WRC return in 2017. I don't think that they will be around for much longer.

    33 years, and now they did it. Yes, you know this:
    Finally, all their rivals left, so they claimed a "glorious" victory all alone in their class.
    Seriously, lame... But hey, after the 2016 tragedy (well done, Toyota, clearly the greatest manufacturer in Le Mans history...), it's a bit of a "refund", eh?
    This is the epic downfall of the Le Mans Prototypes.
