  • www.bigmessowires.com/usb-wombat * USB Wombat is an input converter for USB and ADB keyboards and mice. It works in two directions, connecting modern USB peripherals to a classic ADB-based Macintosh or Apple IIgs computer, or ADB peripherals to a USB-based computer running Windows, OSX, or Linux. The new keyboards and mice behave exactly like native peripherals, requiring no special software or drivers - just plug it in and go. Please note the video was made before the Wombat name was adopted, and refers to the hardware as Retro USB.

Would be nice if it could be mounted in a PCI bracket so you can have it inside the case so it doesn't hang from the outside..

On a modern KB, what equates to the open and closed apple ? Windows key? Same for the rest key?

Would this device work with a Logic Audio Pro 4.0? I am currently moving ProTools from a Mac PowerPC 9600 to a Mac G4 with OS 9.2.2. The Mac G4 doesn't not have ADB input/output. I am thinking on buying this device and connect the MacHASP-M, then connect the Logic 4.0 Authorization box. Do you guys think this will work? Thanks

Awesome. I've still got an older commercial product (somewhere) that does ADB to USB. But going the other direction is quite nice, especially being able to use a modern optical mice with these.
Does it work if it's passed through a keyboard as well? So you could use an original keyboard with a modern mouse?
Would also be interesting to see how many of these you could chain together back to back before things break down. :)

      I've used a Dell wireless mouse/keyboard, and I've heard Logitech's works too.

As long as the USB device uses the standard USB input device drivers it should work. Anything needing special drivers wouldn't work.
