Yes that's true lipos on transmitters can increase range, people been doing that for years... Good tip though brother and cheers for the shout... I'm heading out with my 124019 again today, since I'm still waiting for my servos to arrive to start my brushless build
Can you tell that was meant to be in my last video? 😅 It was a late night editing session for sure but at least we got it done 💪 yeah it's an awesome little hack I discovered a while ago at least 2 volts more adds a deecent boost 😎
@@TheRCMaster haha yep, good info bro well done, can't wait for the build. I can't believe buying from Banggood AU warehouse takes longer to get shit here in the west than from China. I ordered servos 2 weeks ago bro..what a joke
Good tip! These transmitters usually have voltage regulators inside so they can handle quite a wide range of input voltage but they generally tend to work better with a higher input voltage. I have a Flysky GT2 and a GT2C, same basic electronics inside but the original is 8xAA and the c version uses a 1 cell lipo. The older one gives better range. Not a huge difference but definitely noticeable at wide open spaces like the beach.
Cheers thanks alot mate for watching 👍 yeah it works quite well, I tested this for a while before showing anyone just to make sure it wouldn't be burning anything out 😂 most guys with wltoys will have exactly that size lipo spare. I should have soldered a jst and micro plug but hey it's working great 🤞
They didn't take the 144001 (the EMB clone) and extended it, they took an LC Racing EMB-DT or T and took the same bottom plate and added new quirky decals and called it 1:12 scale ;-). Anyway, still love them. And the hack for the transmitter, use a lipo. Have been doing this since; just add a JST connect or XH connector for pin 1+3 to power with 6V (lifepo) or 7.4V (lipo). There is a voltage regulator inside the transmitter that does not take really much more, so dont try 3S... It might work, but can also overvolt the regulator. 4xAA is a nominal voltage of 4.8V which cant be dropped to about 5V, so slightly less powers the MX5323 transceiver. Due to the discharge characteristics the AA loose range over time.
Thanks for your video on the 124019. Great car. However; transmitter conversions from AA batteries to LiPo have been on RUclips for years. Yes at higher voltages than the AA batteries provide. Nothing new here. By the way don't forget to turn off your transmitter or you will ruin your LiPo pack. Unless you use protected batteries or add a protection circuit.
Plenty of room for plenty of goodies you got there 😆 About the range hack, nice. In fact i already noticed in some of my RCs that even the difference between alkaline batteries and Ni-Mh is more, as i think the lipos "C"rate can make an huge difference 🙃
Yes plenty of room but the body shell is cut a little short and stock esc location is very small. Still have to get very creative to get that MM2 to fit under the original body shell 😉 I love that little range hack too 😁 it's great for people wanting to keep stock electronics!
@@kodak_jack yeah mate the wind killed it and the edit was actually stuffed up completely! the start of the video was meant to be in the speed run video so it doesn't really make sense but the hack is that good we just went with it 😂
i converted 2 or 3 radios to lipo s years ago... i never even considered an increase in range..i just hated buying double @ batteries... i have a big ass lipo in my airplane spectrum radio...i rarely need to charge ...i just check voltage night before i fly...
Mine is super fast brushless. Only a hobbywing 60a though. I have a run video but no gps. Had to use foam tires. Gps coming today finaGPS. Running mine on 3s. Can't wait to see yours.
How good is the stock steering on this car??? i just got a wltoys a959 yesterday and steering linkage is horrible...to much slop and poor turning radius... i am not talking about lack of adjustment... just the slop...thanks
I haven't done a video yet specifically for wheelie bars but I have a few designs I'm working on ATM. One is an actual wheelie bar with a wheel.. first run on a 144001 100mph 😎 subscribe not to miss that!
@@TheRCMaster sweet cheers man, I always looked at you guys transmitter wondering if that was the case. Is that "mag" drive you guys are at there or down the coast?
That whole area is becoming very busy, the new end near green Rd is fresh but kind of short and has a turn. The only "virgin" bitumen would be out the back of Springfield ect in new estates Honestly there aren't many places left to enjoy the hobby in the area. I used to run them on the Jimboomba track they had but don't know if they still have that there.
I run a 16v turbo wing range booster on my futaba 4pk it's has at least 800m range. This is just a very simple hack for stock electronics as it's an all in one receiver and ESC. You wouldn't really need any more range than this on the stock system but once you go brushless a proper range booster as you recommended is a must 👍
Search the 124019 speed run group on Facebook and you will find my mate Kurt Broska. He has stock to buy directly from him in the USA or alternatively you use the link in the video description with my code - theRCmaster

Hell yeah they are so fun 😊
Just what I was looking for! I new there was a way to do it. you a master
Good luck with that much power, that's nuts!
It's definitely going to be a powerhouse combination whatever I decide to fit into it 💪

Nice mod with the controller. Can't wait to see you get this car flying.

@@TheRCMaster No offense, but the audio for this video is not that great. I know there’s wind noise, but there are other issues too.

looking forward to this car getting modified. why didn't I think of that hack? I will be trying that. Nice one bud 👍

@@TheRCMaster did a speed run today. 56mph. That's a good start.

Hahaha 😂 that's hilarious! Its that good though it is kinda difficult to see
Genius!
looking forward to to what you guys do with the new 1/10 scale wltoys buggy coming out... i think it may be the best one yet... thanks
cool rc and run
Thanks for watching mate!
Lol same hack I had already good one mate works really well.
Everyone has done the antenna mod but no one has ever shared or ever posted about adding a lipo! 😅 but the secrets out now
Good one mate. You should make a video of converting the new WLtoys to brushless to show everyone how it's done that will be an awesome video. 👍😁
I done some work on the brushless conversion video today 😎💪
can you change the 550 for a faster one ( brushed )
Im here 👋🏼😎
Awesome 👍😎
So is that the main cause for low signal? Is crappy batteries basically even if they are brand new?
That’s an awesome Range Hack bro, this will help a lot of people!
Thanks bro its a good one 😁 I'm heaps of people will have fun trying this one 👊

They are awesome world's apart for the 9*9 series. These don't require any modifications to run straight
@@TheRCMaster yes the a959 is junk steering linkage compared to these 1/12 and 1/14 scale
Can the remote handles 8x AA rechargeable batteries?
That’s (1.3V each x 8 = 10.4V)!
Did you expose the antenna on top of the transmitter? If so how? Thanks
What were the tires?
How many times do you say "guys" in the video.....my god hahaha
Too much, it's not a good thing once you notice it you can hardly watch the video 🙃
@@TheRCMaster I did watch it full, can you feel my pain :D
great video, keep it up with less guys and bro's and you are all ok ;)
Have you done a video of how to make gps/wheelie bar.

2s battery full charge is 8.4V, will it burn my transmitter??
It should be ok I was just running a little lower for safety just incase 🤞
Is the wire on top of the transmitter just the internal one run on the outside?
Yes mate but honestly with this hack you don't even need to expose the wire 👌😎
@@TheRCMaster sweet cheers man, I always looked at you guys transmitter wondering if that was the case. Is that "mag" drive you guys are at there or down the coast?
Yes magnesium drive mate 👍 nice long road but not the best surface, any others spots you would recommended around Logan or GC ?

They are building more shit at the green road end soon maybe keep an eye on what they come up with.
Grab a 2.4ghz signal booster for best improvement.
