Wow! a very good presentation. The regumming presentation was something I did not know much about when telling original gum from a regummed stamp. The difference between OG unhinged and LH or HH classic mint can be considerable and regumming a stamp could be a dishonest option for unscrupulous sellers.
Hi, Nice article, would you consider doing another one on re-perforated stamps? Useually the Queen Victoria stamps with Spray of Roase and Emblems watermarks, which were often re-perfed so that the stamps would fit in the very first stamp albums. Kind regards, Barry Kenny
Actually I got most of my information from stampforgeries website. Which I included a link to. But yes I do collect my information from a number of different sources and that included Stanley Gibbons.
You failed to mention the most importent criteria for a stamp to be authentic. It has to be certified by PSAG or APEX. I urge anyone who is purchasing stamps of a certain value to make sure they are certified by a repitible stamp expertizer such as the above mentioned before you buy.

Thanks for your comments. I didn't know about reperfing to fit albums. I'll have to look into it.
