  • From the tired ashes of a beat and battered E-flite AT-6 1.5m...a fresh Navy SNJ-5 has emerged with the help of Rustoleum spray paint and new decals.
These old eyes of mine need all the help they can get and this paint scheme is jut the ticket. Mike and Bob performed my camera chores this morning and I could probably flown a little lower and closer for them.

Thanks Don and yes, after a rough midair a few years ago, it deserved a total refresh. My skills need a little refresh too with this particular model as you saw with the hippy hop landing. Jim

My original sad to saw suffered a midair and turned into a lawn dart several years ago. As a gift from my daughter, I had to bring it back from the dead over several weeks. It few but sure looked raggedy and this rebuild and repaint was long overdue. Thank you Bob and these old eyes can see it now. Jim

Looks good Jim! Too bad Eflite being Eflite, decides to discontinue this fine model.

With all the body filler and epoxy resins, then paint, I was quite anxious with this first flight. Flight was OK but the landing was as sketchy as ever. LOL. Jim

Yeah the box those came in were enormous because they were a one peice 60 inch wing so the cost to ship them and the valuble warehouse space they used up i think was a big factor in their decision to axe the model....Dynam makes a decent AT-6 Texan with a 53 inch wingspan the battery compartment is limited but i stretched mine out to accomadate a 4s 2200 battery in it.

@@barqwoof i found on my eflite Texan it was better to use no flaps and do a 3 point landing then immediately give full up elevator and do the qiuck left right rudder dance and that way i was able to arrest any ground looping Try it sometime.

@@looneytunes47 Tell me about it yes. I drove halfway across the country from Texas with it boxed in my car to get home. LOL. Jim

@@looneytunes47 Four years of flying the model and I agree with you. This came out of cold storage and the video reflected my first rusty flight of the model in months. Jim
