Here’s the difference when you purchase high end fashion brands.
Gucci Sneakers:
Materials can be exotic like stingray, snake skin or alligator. That particular leather is made from calf skin hide that has been tanned, then hand crafted by someone in Italy.
You are paying for the craftsmanship and materials, I’m not saying it isn’t marked up for the brand name. I’m just saying that isn’t the whole factor, it’s unfair to compare Gucci or Giorgio Armani material use to a general release Jordan 1 for example.
Gotta love how you Americans are willing to buy everything that Nike releases underpaying workers in China or Vietnam, but get mad if a LUXURY brand releases sneakers at a high price. At least Gucci sneakers are made in Italy and support local workers.

They also produce their sneaker in china now. You can get quality leather shoes made in Europe for around 300 bucks, but should pay for cheap sneakers with a gucci print 900. Makes no sense.

People on here complaining about paying for the brand name but probably still own plenty of Nike, Adidas, Jordan, etc clothes and shoes. Literally the same thing just on a different price level. Everybody just chill.
Its simple, try a pair on and feel for it. If you like it and you think you wont go broke after buying it, go ahead. The only reason I see rare jordans with the less quality materials than these designer brand sneakers and retail for only $190-$250 that can reach $1000-$2000 in resell value is the significance in culture and the profitability after using it for a few times.
People will always find ways and reasons to justify their purchase and thats not bad as long as it isnt getting unhealthy (ie financial instability, greed, etc).

I’m not a big fan of the big ugly “dad” shoes. I just don’t think I could pull these off with my style and I think they could date pretty badly and look like a fad quite soon. These in particular are not for me. I don’t like that basically all the design is the logo. I’m not a fan of logos anywhere, I prefer a cool designed item that discreetly has a brand name if you look close. With these it looks like you’re just shouting that you bought some expensive shoes.

No doubt these are overpriced, but value for money is probably better than any Nike. These are made in Italy using quality materials by well paid workers in a clean, well maintained factory. Nike is made in sweatshops where workers are paid shit and with materials that are below par. A $300 Nike shoe probably costs Nike $10 to manufacture, market and sell.
