With "Guitar", "Bones", "Blue Lou", "Mr. Fabulous" ...etc. (the enormously talented group of musicians that WERE the rythm and horn section) there was no way you could have anything less than an incredibly tight and flawless band. They didn't play the music, it was in the them (and it had to come out!)
I always thought they just KILLED this tune! Brought monster energy & it was freaking TIGHT! Of course with much of Booker T & the MGs (hello! The Colonel!) what did you expect LOL! Also I loved that so many R&B & soul stars got the bumps in their careers that they so richly deserved. Back in the inconvenient vinyl days, I'd have to sit by the turn table so I could keep replaying this!
They woukd a kick ass jam band. The same way the dead were ....1st time I smelled weed and 1st rock show i got see when was 9....thanks mom n pop.....summerfest in milwaukee.....love em...it's hard belive Dan akryod and Jim belushi with that fucking talented that they were legit Rockstars!!!...man all stuff is awsome ..u here it vinyl with hi quality head phones. Or the speakers that will blow out the neighbors windows!!!!!!!😊...i
They weren't created for the skit, Dan and John actually begged Lorne to let them play after he denied them a first time and they came up 4 minutes short.
The Blues Brothers' album, "Made In America" was released in December, 1980, about six months after the movie came out. IIRC, the album was recorded live in LA, at the Universal Amphitheater. On this cut, Tom Scott, who played the sax solo, Steve Jordan, the drummer, and Paul Shaffer, keyboards and music director, did not appear in the movie at all. The Blues Brothers also released an album in 1978, "Briefcase Full Of Blues".
Steve Jordan is a beast on the drums!
Steve Jordan’s powers on the drums are god like! (Notice the lower case g in god, I don’t want to offend!)
This drum solo from 2:22🔥made me want to learn the drums. It's so in the pocket, just perfect.
i love john belushi, but the band is something of mystical.

That 32 count drum solo by Steve Jordan is INCREDIBLE !!!!
I always will love John and Danny
The Best.
It's 106 miles to Miami, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses. HIT IT

Totally identify with the Blues brothers. Jake especially.
How many times have you been in jail lol
I'm next week back in Miami!
So good.
Maravilhoso! Sempre me alegro ouvindo essa música.
For a band created in a skit...their influuence will always be incalculable. They got me into music in 79 and I never looked back.

who's playing the saxophone? he's very very good
I believe that is Lou Marini (spelling?) "Blue Lou"
@@DaveCarpe You're correct.
Hate to correct you but that is Tom (Triple Scale) Scott on the Tenor Saxophone solo!
Blue Lou Marini!
Regarding your Jake & Elwood history: A string no doubt "borrowed" from Elmore James ☕
They cut their fingers on that string and made themselves blood brothers!
Someone 2021? All of them were just perfect
What's up people still listening to these geniuses in 2021
Two words: Elwood (and Jake) Simps
And the band slaps
The Blues Brothers
I'm grooovviiiiiiiin
🌏🏆👍🎰💖🧩✌😜 Thanks. Take Care out There Robert Kraft 33 3×3
