Let us know how long this actually lasts out on the trail. It would be a bit of a bear to have to construct a new one out on the trail, unless you have easy access to the right tools.
I've always been surprised how few alcohol stoves I see in use. Mine is made from an aluminum beer bottle, but same features. 12oz. Of Heet fuel stabilizer (yellow bottle) lasts about 8 days for me, boiling 1-2 cups of water every night. I've never had issues finding it at gas stations/convenience stores/hardware/automotive stores for around $2.00. The only issues I've had occurred when using wooden surfaces. Any pooled pitch will ignite, making for an interesting show for your neighbors.

I was shocked to see no band-aids where needed.
Why is the flame so yellow?
The description is a bit wrong. You are making a stove from aluminum cans not tin cans.
Good catch. Amended!
