Thank you so much for sharing your story Hannah, and I'm glad you're doing better! Insomnia is a debilitating problem that so many people struggle with and it's so important to raise awareness about it and how it's a complete mental game. I also think there are so many important life lessons one can learn from facing insomnia and looking inward. I've been going through a similar journey - for anyone out there struggling PLEASE know that there is so much hope and you are not alone. What really made it click for me was Daniel Erichsen's podcast "Sleep Coach School", it is such a great community and he gives so much great advice on how to approach insomnia and shift your mindset to not let sleep have power over you anymore. He also has a book called Set it and Forget it (I believe this is the one referred to in the video). The two biggest things that helped me from his teachings have been acceptance of emotions and self kindness; also some concepts Hannah kind of touched on in the video. I HIGHLY recommend checking out Daniel's content, it's truly given me so much confidence and empowerment in my insomnia struggles and also life in general.
Thank you so much for sharing your story! I have struggled with anxiety and sleep problems this past year, but listening to your video reminds me every-time to face insomnia and not be scared of it.
Thank you for your tips, especially your mindset shifts! I have struggled off and on with insomnia for about 4 years and was really struggling when a friend shared this video with me. I took your advice to sit on my couch in the living room until I’m really sleepy and then go to bed and that has helped so much! I feel like I needed a way to reset my brain and this has done that. I am so grateful 😭
Wow Hannah. This was soooo helpful for me!!!! I really appreciate this. Needed it. Proud of you for figuring this out naturally. And researching well. You have matured so much, blossomed into a grounded young woman. Love following you over the many years. ❤
Thank you so so so much though for talking about this and being so open and honest. It really does make so many people feel less alone when fighting one of the hardest things. Appreciate you so much!!
I’m so relieved you’re doing better. We were worried about you, girl! A sleep tip I like is listening to a guided sleep meditation from The Mindful Movement (RUclips channel). I also like listening to Emma Chamberlain’s podcast. I have the sound on low volume and I use it almost as a white noise. It helps me to listen to something else rather than my worried thoughts.
Things that have helped my insomnia are eating greek yogurt with strawberries couple hours before bed(they have stuff that helps you fall asleep, black out curtains, a peaceful alarm clock, and if I cant fall asleep take bounty sleep 3, listening to audiobook.
Thank you very much for sharing these helpful tips. I'm sure everyone, who has trouble sleeping, appreciate your valuable information. Your insights are greatly helpful 🥰🥰🥰
When I was struggling with postpartum insomnia, I got pretty desperate and I felt like I had tried everything. I finally tried wearing a castor oil pack at night and it was solved like magic. I don't want to lead anyone to believe it'll automatically be magic for everyone, but I do want to share because I think it's worth a shot! I saw so much success so quickly. It was life changing.
I was able to sleep fine until 2weeks ago when i moved to night shift. I only slept like 2 to 3 hours a night. But Now im able to sleep 5 hrs . i get out of work at 2:30 am. I get home take a hot shower. Than i make a chamomile tea before bed. Have a cold room and watch a show on my phone. 75% of the time it makes me fall asleep.
Hannah, your experience is just what I’m going through and currently feeling so hopeless. Averaging 2-3 hours of sleep every night. I understand the mindset shift but can’t embody it. How did you do it?
Can you talk about Dylan what’s his role or his take on this? How does he get affected by it? Cuz I feel my boyfriend gets mad at me sometimes for not sleeping well :(
Hi Hannah! How many hours of sleep is normal for you now? Asking bc I’ve been doing a lot of CBTI (and sleep restriction) and delaying my bedtime to 1am but I’ve been finding I will wake up 30-45min before my 7am alarm…
Hey hannah always watching your vlogs and then I saw you watch the VS fashion show like what you saw LISA OF BLACKPINKKK OMG,just wanted to ask if you vlogged the vs show and I hope theres a video of lisa the opening act
I feel like journaling all the thoughts in your head/writing them in “notes”, meditating, or distracting yourself with a lighthearted book or show could be helpful! If you’re in bed thinking about it a lot try getting out of bed and taking a breather and organize your thoughts and “file” them away until you wake up the next morning. Therapy is super helpful too if you have time to enroll in it!!
did you ever have heart palpitations and hyperarousal when trying to sleep? In those cases, is it better to lay there and not fight it and face your fear or is it better to get out of bed and do something you enjoy?
I’ve had heart palpitations at night. Some things that have helped are praying, taking deep breaths, massaging my chest, getting up and drinking a lot of water. Hugging a pillow to my chest lol
Thank you for this!! I’ve always struggled with sleep and I feel like no one gets it when I talk about the anxiety that goes along with not sleeping, it truly can be the worst cycle. This made me feel seen!! 🫶🏻

Where do you apply it?

So helpful, thank you!!
I take Lunesta & Melatonin to sleep. I have to take them together. If I don't take them then I won't sleep at all.
Can you talk about Dylan what’s his role or his take on this? How does he get affected by it? Cuz I feel my boyfriend gets mad at me sometimes for not sleeping well :(
NAD is a great supplement that helps with circadian rhythm

Can you link the book and the magnesium you mentioned? Thank youuu :)
Hey hannah always watching your vlogs and then I saw you watch the VS fashion show like what you saw LISA OF BLACKPINKKK OMG,just wanted to ask if you vlogged the vs show and I hope theres a video of lisa the opening act
How did you turn off the racing thoughts at night when you are laying in your bed?
I feel like journaling all the thoughts in your head/writing them in “notes”, meditating, or distracting yourself with a lighthearted book or show could be helpful! If you’re in bed thinking about it a lot try getting out of bed and taking a breather and organize your thoughts and “file” them away until you wake up the next morning. You mentioned you went 6 days without sleep!? How did that feel???
scary/terrible!
Hey we missed you
did you ever have heart palpitations and hyperarousal when trying to sleep? In those cases, is it better to lay there and not fight it and face your fear or is it better to get out of bed and do something you enjoy?
I’ve had heart palpitations at night. Some things that have helped are praying, taking deep breaths, massaging my chest, getting up and drinking a lot of water. Hugging a pillow to my chest lol
Also running/cardio during the day. And just dealing with anything that may be causing stress
The sleep coach school on RUclips teaches this and it is a game changer for anyone struggling!!!!
Yes!! He’s a super helpful account
The sleep coach school changed my life forever! I will forever be grateful for Dr Daniel and his team
Yes, the best resource for insomnia! So grateful I found it
🫶🫶🫶 thank you
Which magnesium did you take?
OptiMag 125!
JESUS IS THE ANSWER.
Wow Hannah I thought I had sleep issues but not even close to what you've gone thru. Glad to hear you have some progress 🩷
*insert the meme of the girl looking at her nails* me pretending not to care about sleep so I can finally fall asleep
This video alone will make me fall asleep
Maybe that’s the magic trick haha
Yes 10000%
Insomnia is typically dehydration and stimulant/ caffeine use related. ;) Spring water. Fruit/ juice and cutting caffeine all together should do it
Thank you for this!! I’ve always struggled with sleep and I feel like no one gets it when I talk about the anxiety that goes along with not sleeping, it truly can be the worst cycle. This made me feel seen!! 🫶🏻
