    So here is my approach to Vicente's new Rumba that just came out 2 days ago! If you understand Vicente, the style and world he lives in then this is your heaven.
    I think give Vicente 2 chords and he'll make an album that can win the Latin Grammy with, easily. Haha
    I hope you enjoy this video, and that it helped you see more details that you might have missed. If it did help, then my job here is done.
    Here is the official link to the piece:

    Cheers!

    Transcribing using apps like Anytune enables you to slow down the speed to varying degrees without affecting the actual pitch. 3:09
    Great for acoustically understanding great jazz improvisations.

    I ve been around the web looking for real good useful flamenco channels, and I can say that your work and will to share is uppon the few ones to really contribute to flamenco guitar 'arte'...
    You, and a tiny handfull of others are the ones keeping the flame alive and beautifull.
    I know well the massive amount of work, dedication and sacrifice flamenco guitar can take for playing that great, that sensitive.
    You are among the humbles guardians of the temple.

    is amazing these flamenco players, Luciano as such, can repeat the music that is so fast, just by listening to the recording. This the way I was learning as a beginner in the flamenco class, but teacher had to play much simpler and slower music, with 6 beats or even 3 beats at a time.

    This is the part of guitar-ing that self-taught students rarely get to see--analysis of complicated material to the point we can replicate it...can you do a series of material where we can further experience these steps (and your approach to learning new material). For years I've heard "just do ear training." This may be where it starts, but it seems to go deeper than that... Thanks in advance! Nuestro Flamenco!

      You are right. The aficion is very importante and the rythm too of course. But i think that you must learn a lot of famous pieces to get the material of chords and harmony.. Paco de Lucia said that he was like a robber because he tooks many thinks of the older musicians. He play it and shake them. He said this is the best things to progress..🙂 cheers.

    Do you have tutorials/videos/series on how to analyze (and play) flamenco music by ear (assuming this is your process)...? Thanks!

    • @wiwipapillon6928
      @wiwipapillon6928 8 месяцев назад

      The core idea behind "by ear" is exactly opposite of having a guide, or a course. So any course pretending to cover that topic would be a complete scam.
      The only protocol I can share is: play song, pause song, play guitar, rewind song; repeat.

    • @Vijay7090
      @Vijay7090 8 месяцев назад

      @@wiwipapillon6928 Thanks for your insight. What I know thus far is that in Flamenco, there are certain harmonies/chord progressions a palo will lean towards. The difficulty becomes, then 1) the choice of fingering (for example) of an A minor-type chord, then 2) the complexity and technique for the "melody" within the chord and 3) How Luciano describes here, what it happening of the subtler levels in the music.
      Often when I'm learning something by ear, then check how another player performs it, I'm WAAAYY off, then it's like "back to the drawing board..."
      So, by "ear," is it fair to say it's kinda like spelunking without a flashlight?

    • @wiwipapillon6928
      @wiwipapillon6928 8 месяцев назад

      @@Vijay7090 Your last phrase is spot on.
      Just for context here, I am NOT an excellent guitar player myself. But I believe to be pretty decent however. My only valid authority is that I am completely self taught, by ear, and this was from an era where internet was only taking off, so RUclips and any kind of help was completely out the equation. From my experience of listening and fiddling for hundreds and hundreds of hours, I can say today that when listening to a new piece, without touching the guitar yet, I can know with a rough guess of let's say around 80% accuracy which string any note is played on. And after fiddling, I can go up to 100%. So point n° 1 and n°2 is clearly experience built on sheer volume of hours listening/playing failing and repeating.
      N°3 is clearly of of reach of any common musician. Luciano is a professional, but most importantly, he is a virtuoso genius. They are very few on this planet.
      I hope I didn't sound too pessimistic, that was not my intent. I wanted more to emphasize on the importance of volume of work needed to unlock, step by step, new levels of understanding (which I keep on doing myself)
      Wish you all the best

    • @Vijay7090
      @Vijay7090 8 месяцев назад

      @@wiwipapillon6928Nope, no pessimism felt. I understood your point and you've clarified further: voluminous trial and error....and if a RUclipsr has done the work already, thank the guitar gods! Salud!
