The invasion storyline should have been given to them.
They could have added AR Fox , EJ Nduka and Leila Grey to The Hurt Syndicate and just have them put everybody in AEW on notice .
Lashley should be having a Darkseid (of DC Comics) ,Thulsa Doom(Connan the Barbarian) or King Xerxes (of 300 ) effect on the whole show where he elicits fear .
Instead he is always shook by Swerve ,the lowest drawing world champ ever.

The Hurt Business? yes. The Hurt Syndicate? No. Shelton loses too many matches to be taken seriously, and Swerve makes Lashley look like a fool too much for him to be taken seriously. Ppl need to stop looking at the Hurt Syndicate like it's the Hurt Business, because it's not. Just because it has 3 of the same members and still wear gold doesn't mean it's the same group that once dominated _Raw_ .

The Death Riders are killing the ratings. I think AEW's hard reset should involve Collision and Dynamite having their own rosters so I think Tony should book a "DYNAMITE is not big enough for the both of us " storyline where The Hurt Syndicate face off against The Death Riders .
Have The Hurt Syndicate recruit new members like EJ Nduka ,AR Fox and Leila Grey to bolster their numbers .
Make it resemble a gang war which takes for a couple of weeks which basically which culminates on this specific episode of Dynamite where each member of the Hurt Syndicate takes on a member of the Death Riders in a series of one on one matches where the losers have to leave Dynamite .
All the match results will be collectively tallied and then the group that comes up short is forced to leave Dynamite .
    For example :
Match 1 : Leila Grey vs Marina Shafri (submission match )
Marina wins after a hard fought match.
Hurt Syndicate 0 -1 Death Riders
Match 2 : EJ Nduka vs Wheeler ( street fight)
    Nduka destroys Wheeler
    Hurt Syndicate 1-1 Death Riders
Match 3 : AR Fox vs Claudio (Standard match)
    Claudio wins
    Hurt Syndicate 1-2 Death Riders
Match 3 : Shelton vs Pac (best out of 3 match )
    Do or Die match basically
Shelton beats PAC by making Pac tapout to the Brock Lock submission manouvre once used by his BFF ,Brock Lesnar during the ruthless aggression era.
    Hurt Syndicate 2-2 Death Riders
Match 4 :Bobby Lashley vs Jon Moxley (Last Man Standing Match)
Plus Moxley's AEW belt is on the line.
The match would have to be overbooked since both groups want to be the ones who remain on Dynamite so their members would have to come and disrupt the match because so much is at stake .
Finally Bobby beats Moxley and wins the AEW world title .
The Hurt Syndicate wins the war and while they celebrating in the ring,Christian Cage, clutching his guaranteed contract , is watching them from the VIP Section of the arena ...

@ Moxly thinks that the wrestlers have become complacent and refuse to grow. The young talent are not trying to grow and are in the same place they were when AEW started. When the BCC first started, moxley and Bryan wanted to build something that would last and leave a legacy. Moxley felt Bryan was too weak to do what needed to be done, that’s why they took out Bryan. Wheeler yuta and Claudio agree’s with moxley and see moxley has a vision of making AEW what it should be instead of this place where everyone is friends and competition does not matter. Pax had been lost since returning to AEW and didn’t know his place in the company. He was supposed to be with the death triangle but that ended up no where and moxley gave him a purpose and something to fight for.
Now you may not like the reasons, which is fine. You can think it is weak or what ever negative statement you have against the reasoning. Which is your opinion. But to say that they gave you no reason and to scream that you want to know why is complete crap and a lie because they told you. They sound more like Vince McMahon everyday day with the bs lies that anyone can find out for themselves is a lie and treat the wrestling fans like they are stupid and will believe anything you say because of your platform and you said it.

This is the thing with Jon Moxley storylines, he is very JJ Abrams Esque, where he knows how to pull you in with a really good hook, but he has nothing past that and it all just goes off the rails into crazy town after a while
Deathriders started with a great hook, that whole "This isn't your company anymore" thing, and making it feel like he was gonna build to something......then it just devolved into a bunch of people coming out of the crowd, laying everyone out, and leaving, and cryptic promos with no direction.
If you think back to the early days of BCC, it was the same thing, where there was a good narrative hook there with Danielson and William Regal, that little mini story with Wheeler Yuta was great, then Claudio was just a natural fit after that....then it just kinda got stale and devolved into a bunch of people coming out of the crowd, laying out everyone in the ring, and leaving, and cryptic promos with no direction.
Basically you have this combination of two really bad behaviors. First, you have Tony Khan doing what he does when he's panicking, and thats give Join Moxley the world title. Then you have Jon Moxley doing what he does when he's out of ideas, and thats revert back to doing what he did back when he was in The Shield. It's a bunch of people trying to go back to something that once worked hoping it will work again, and experiencing diminishing returns.

Very interesting discussion on how talent cannot / should not write the scripts / shows without supervision or assistants and how that goes for all shows. A good example is Yellowstone, Taylor Sheridan was only occasionally on-screen and it was great, in the final season, he was on too much, too much of a mark for himself, writing himself with all kinds of strippers etc. In wrestling, think of VKM (all the sexual stuff), HHH beating/ burying all the WCW guys, Dusty, Russo (probably the most egregious example).

How can I take this conversation seriously?? Dave also asked why FTR is fighting for AEW. Has Dave not watched Collision the past month?? If he did he wouldn't ask that dumb question. Why is Copeland with FTR? It's pretty obvious why if you are a true fan and know that FTR and Copeland are best friends and next door neighbors in Asheville, NC. Here Dave, the Death Riders abducted FTR a few weeks which is why they have been off TV. Now FTR wants their revenge against the Death Riders, and brought along their friend Copeland to help even the playing field. Is that too hard to figure out??
Mox has said "why" he's doing this. He said it several times actually if you listen to his promos. He said he doesn't like the direction AEW is headed so the Death Riders are there to "save" AEW. Go watch his first few promos.

I mean AEW has been very good to Moxley so it makes no sense why he wants to bring it down. What's the motive? Well there are a lot of reasons for that, and the wrong one in my opinion. They do a lot of things that makes them injured being one of them some may say. To paraphrase Kofi Kingston’s words recently: “yeah they get injured, so what!?” What stops them from making good storyline? They’re just not experienced or they’re caught up in their egos and they just do what they want for the traffic, so they believe that one-dimensional story is the equivalent of “traffic farming”. It doesn’t matter what Dave “I keep a poster of Tony Khan all over my house” Meltzer says, they (Tony Khan and every booker under him) really need to get their act together when it comes to storytelling. Don’t just keep overpushing the huge stars, there are a number of young talent with a lot of potential, some of them are literally and figuratively still young, that being Top Flight, Private Party, The Acclaimed, Skye Blue, Julia Hart, Lee Johnson, and Kyle Fletcher, the latter of whom has learned a lot under his compatriot Mark Davis, Will Ospreay, one of the greatest wrestlers of the modern era who I also believe that being in bland storylines kind of killed his aura slightly, and Don Callis, one of the greatest heels in this business, which has benefited him. A lot of guys from Down Under who trained under Robbie Eagles and Madison Eagles have become huge stars in their own right, Fletcher being one of them. Death Riders need a manager so their aura can be more imposing. If Blackpool Combat Club had William Regal, Nigel McGuinness would fit with the Death Riders.

    How'd I fix the why?
After a few fights with Rated RFTR, I'd have Moxely make the most babyface promo giving the why while many AEW talent stand on the ramp. The promo tells the story of how an out of touch billionaire nearly destroyed pro wrestling. He can go over the embarrassing things done to FTR. Have them nod in agreement. Mox will warn that he sees the same thing happening in the back with a younger billionaire. He implores them to see he's right. They all need to ride or die for Pro wrestling making it sound like AEW and their fans are the last hope. They only way to save AEW is to beat the poison of the wacko millionaire out of them.
Copeland and FTR look at each other and nod before attacking those on the ramp creating a super faction (they have too much talent anyway). For weeks they run roughshod over the whole roster seeing their numbers swell with Mercedes and other ex-WWE talent (ex. Adam Cole) and some young up and comers. (Use Ray Fenix as a punching bag.)
The locker room goes to Omega who is consumed with Okada and can't help. The Young Bucks can start their own faction of loyalist to them (blur the line between face and heel like it was originally and reality too). Have the Bucks cost Omega his match against Okada because he has stayed neutral.
This sparks Omega building a stable of faces for all genders. This can be used to push some talent into the upper card and train younger talent to the next level. They can bring in Darby and a few blue chips to fight both the Death Riders and the Bucks corporate faction. (I'd even bring in the American Dragon as a manager with a few proteges to help fight and eventually go neutral). This is a mix and match of heel and face depending on who fights who and what the fans lean toward that can last a few years where at the end all three faction disappear with new faces and heels to take the spotlight.
It won't happen because at the end of the day TK is the big boss heel that needs to be stopped and may even eventually go face with a much happier fan base. Done right, this could be a captivating and great story.

Respectfully Bully, I think they've already missed a golden opportunity with Kyle Fletcher not winning the Continental Classic tournament. If though I think the tournament is flawed in principle. Tony Khan is so infatuated with New Japan and the G-1 Climax he created his own America version. The problem with the CC tournament is why would the current Continental Champion be put at a disadvantage where the winner of the tournament is crowned new champion and you can have a new champion every year based off who's hot. The current champion should get an automatic bye to the finals and face the winner of the Gold league or Blue league. Anyway back to Kyle Fletcher he should've won and kept being elevated like his stablemate Takeshita. As a reminder, Kyle Fletcher has already wrestled Okada in the Continental Classic giving him his second loss in AEW ever. I'm not interested in seeing Fletcher wrestle Okada anytime soon or wrestle Kenny Omega regardless who wins at All In Texas. Thank you as always for your great wrestling knowledge and acumen.

I can name 2 actors that have written for themselves.
    Sly Stallon and Ben Affleck.
It's super rare when it works so it's not something everybody should do.
AEW is running into that issue.
Tony has allowed the talent to write their stories.
Tony has only made matches with his wrestling fan fantasies.
What I mean by that is...
Tony says this is the match he wants and the talent plans out what they want to do in the build up to that match.
The only two guys in AEW that should have booked their own stories was Sting and CM Punk.
Sting has earned the right to do that due to his longevity in the business.
CM Punk was their biggest draw and anything he did had the potential of becoming gold.
