Met Raymond in the Netherlands in the 90's and he was a good friend, visit him a few times in Newcastle , Glasgow SECC, Edinborough and als o a lot of times in the netherlands, Great time it was
I used to travel with Thurstons many years ago (35-40yrs) - And Codona's Hellraiser was Legendary even then !!!! Dare i say..... It's Possibly/Probably THE most iconic waltzer !!
I used to work on this for two summer season. Was a great job and what a waltzer, everything about it you can tell its better than the rest or at least 90% of them out there. Everything was just right from the cars, the paint jobs, the seats, the booth, the decks, lights etc etc Managed to learn a few tricks over the seasons on it and kept me blooming' fit!! haha basically a treadmill for 8 hours a day between me and another guy...
Brings back memories when they had it here in Ireland unreal machine the last run of the night all the other machines music would be turned off and the hellraiser would still be hoping tunes blazing I remember they had a set of dj decks in the Paybox
I was working for young John Cadona at the time on the octopus and did a few months on the hell raiser myself in the early - mid 80's it was some machine
