Very crisp sound and a energetic performance as usual. The book of souls - The black and the red also delivers big time.
Murray's solo was better here than Flight 666..But Adrian's Flight 666 solo is way better than this one(he incorporates in that version some licks from his "Caught Somewhere in Time" solo that fitted better than his improvisation here)

Bruce was 60 at the time of this recording. He can still sing his fucking ass off so fucking well. This band will just never ever age. Not in a million years. Maiden rules forever!!!

@@jamesdest5609 completely disagree. Maiden doesn’t exist without priest, priest has the overall better discography of songs and still puts out better new music than maiden. If you mean creative as in maiden playing overly long intros and repeating parts for way to long and pretending it’s progressive than yes, they are more creative. Now keep in mind maiden is my number 3 band of all time right behind priest and I love Iron Maiden but they will never be the metal god machine that priest is

I first heard Maiden back in 07 playing a football game that had aces high and immediately fell on love with the song. Literally forgot about the song and band up until about a month or two ago and now that I've dove into their insanely large catalog, I CANNOT GET ENOUGH OF THEM! Simply the greatest metal band to grace the landscape imo. Guys with so much energy and creativity within their shows and songs. I regret not listening to them while I was younger but this has to be the sweetest thing I've stumbled upon in my 30s. Hooked until death!
Hopefully you'll get the chance to see them live before they call it a day. It's an amazing experience.

I would like to add to my comment early. When I seen Iron Maiden app. 1987, when the show first open, Bruce Dickerson comes running out with that feathered mask, and later wore the jacket of tube light. Needless to say it was an awesome show!
There are a lot of great bands in rock and roll history. The Beatles, Elvis Presley, The Rolling Stones, Yes, Rush.......so many from decades and decades of great rock. But at the top of each genre there are the elite few that make the rest step back a few feet. Iron Maiden is one band that takes itself out of the way of most every other act. Over 4 decades and innumerable fans all over the globe, Maiden has created a Phenomenon like no other. Their music, history and tradition has made them the most successful band by weight of comparison of all others there are with the exeption of maybe only The Beatles. They ARE the name synonymous with Heavy Metal.
UP THE FUCKING IRONS AND GET OUT OF THE WAY FOR THE TRUE METAL GODS!!!!!

I always thought that the original solo of Adrian in this song was one of his best ones, but just when you thought that it cannot be topped, he comes up with this version!!! Fucking brilliant!!!

Yes that's true, and that version of his solo in Flight 666 was awful as fuck. But now he remedied that!!!!
That's what love about Dave & Adrian. They keep challenging themselves on their instruments, to the point where I would even say that they are better guitarists now than in the 80s -Very rare I think. But from what I've heard, Adrian has been taking tips from Dave, so that he could become better at improvising live. Adrian used to be more inclined to play his solos the same live as on the albums, but not anymore :)
Dave and Adrian are by far light years better than "Look at me i'm kicking" Gaynick. Dave and Adrian's play keeps getting better and better each album....Gaynick's get worse.

I just got the double CD of The Book Of Souls tour and it is amazing!!! It is the exact same setlist that they played at the show I saw them this past summer. I knew there was something very special about Iron Maiden the very first time I heard them at seven years old. Thirty-two years later and they are still the best band I ever heard. In my opinion no other band has the greatest fans like Iron Maiden does. Iron Maiden fans are the most passionate fans in the world. UP THE IRONS!!!!!
John Katsoudas maybe their fans just loves and admires them, they are really the best musicians and performers there are, hard working professionals and loyal to their craft, never sells themselves out to modern music.....I for one is totally hooked....

I'm 63 years old, I've been following the best band for 50 years since the first two albums Iron Maiden and Killers with Di Anno, from pank to hard rock they moved on to Dickinson, they're heavy metal, the best Heavy Metal band in the world. iron Maiden, Killers, the number of the beast, pleasure of mind, Somewhere time, Seventh son of a seventh son, Brave new world, Powerslave, Dance of Death, the book of the souls, Senjutsu my favourites.
