I read a guy's comment about this solo that really helped me see just how cool it was. He said this solo was a sort of swan song, or a dirge of sorts. Eric was composing this piece of music to both express himself AND honor the person he used to be. It's beautiful, bud also sad - and very angry towards the end. It's great at depicting Eric's state of mind, in all its confusion and heartbreak and rage - but is also interesting because it's the last song Eric Draven will ever play. It's like he took time to write one last song, to cap everything off, because he knew he would be going back to the grave eventually.
Did the movie absolute justice. Nice work. I remember as a teen on my first and only guitar trying to perfect this as I was mildly obsessed with the movie.
I Wanna hear this in a an intro or an outro to a band one day don't really care who just hope someone does it if it hasn't been done already. this Riff just is beautiful.

this was the first tune I learned myself by ear I just kept putting my ringtone on repeat while I figured it out now it wouldn't have been 100% accurate but I wasn't arsed I was quite chuffed I managed to learn just by listening and get pretty close to it.

I too have an Ibanez SZ. Dropped EMG 81\85's in it. I havent been able to play it for a few years now. I played it so much, the pots and input jack need to be replaced. Seeing this might get me off my ass to get it done. Miss that guitar!
