Yeah, I think it's meant to be a hilarious yet clever way of expressing that Raiden strength is just a joke to Armstrong's. Armstrong is now a major threat to Raiden...
Because at his core Armstrong is a goodish person, a majority of his ideals and points are actual things but brought to their logical extreme, and those things…Aren’t that bad, normally anyway, it’s not a moment of “Oh cool, he’s with me now, new sidekick” it’s more of a “Ah, finally got through to you, so…We friends now?” Type thing

21:10 The fact that Armstrong is proud and happy to listen that Raiden says "Maybe I was wrong about you..." Just look his happy face and how he clean Raiden's armor.
More importantly he knew that Raiden became strong and an independent thinker by fighting for himself and what he believes in, so he wants someone else who carved their own path and also shares his ideals on the free man being able to fight his own wars. And in the end Raiden becomes someone who Armstrong would describe as “The Truly Free”, even quitting Maverick to be entirely independent. In a way Armstrong won, Raiden is his successor who superseded him in power and freedom. What Raiden will do with that freedom we have yet to see, and in a way that’s a good thing, becuase his future can be predicted and interpreted in many different ways by analyzing his journey and ideals throughout the game.

Thats what i like about Armstrong. As soon as raiden says that he was wrong about Armstrong, instead of gloating or making fun of raiden, he immediately gets raiden up and clears the dust off of raidens armor, treating him as an ally.
That frustrated punch when he gets thrown instead is gold. He's not angry at Raiden for getting a cheap shot on him, but because he genuinely thought it was over. He looks so done with that crap.
Didn't think any fight could top Sams duel... then Armstrong appeared. He uses EVERYTHING the game taught you, from parrying, to dodging, to precise cutting. He shows up out of nowhere, makes you feel weak, and ensures you want him dead. The qte choreography is amazing, and dont feel annoying, theres healing so his insane 200% hp doesn't feel unfair, and he still kicks your ass. Best final boss of any game I've played. Senator and Presidential CANDIDATE. Remember: the US is a Democratic Republic. Your vote does matter, but any politician who hopes to become President after all the other candidates are out-voted has to focus on the states where they not only have a chance to win but can also get the most electoral votes. A Republican presidential candidate should never even think about counting on winning New York State (mostly because of New York City) and a Democratic presidential candidate shouldn't even bother trying to win Texas over, they should focus on swing states like Ohio instead.
Souns even more bizarre than a stupid Britishman who can predict the future, an italian soap criminal, the Britishman's hot mom and a cyborg nazi who defeat the buff ancient god vampire rock bands by channeling the sun.

I love how you can weaken each human boss except for Armstrong. You can disarm Mistral (no pun intended) by removing her arms and making her weaker, you can use EMP grenades to stun Monsoon, you can cut through Sundowners shields, and you can get rid of Sam's sword. But Armstrong? You have to just beat the shit out of his 200% health pool until he dies. Makes him feel like a true final boss in a way.
Sam: Spent years training and honing his skills with the blade Raiden: Fought and defeated the Winds of Destruction and embraced his true self Armstrong: “PLAYED COLLEGE BALL YA KNOW!”

LordLukste I honestly think if you see passed the huge corniness you find a very ugly truth that's been said through all the games: People are puppets and slaves. They only need the right person to pull their strings. It's a very bitter truth and the fact that these games try to tackle this taboo is a pretty big deal. I honestly havent played many Metal Gear games at all. Only this one and TPP. The fact that these are the black sheep games and not "serious" games absolutely blows my mind. Hideo Kojima is a fucking legend among geniuses. I owe it to him to play them all. (Oh, I played the Card series but it was meh). Anyway, thought I would point that out. I'm not claiming to be an expert. Just pointing out my view on what I have played.

I actually really like Armstrong’s character, I think it has something to do with how deeply he believes in his own ideology and genuine charisma from the voice actor. They did a good job with him.
He is easily one of my favorite characters along with Sam and Raiden, such a badass but his ideology that is more than just a meme and how you (and Raiden) change opinion about him during their battles.
This whole fight had me like, “WTF?! What the hell is going on?” I’ve seen the memes behind this guy but I never knew this fight would be so ridiculous and awesome at the same time lol.
Let's see, using the sword of your dead rival while fighting a senator inside his destroyed metal gear, while a wolf you killed and re-programmed comes to your aid and having the most fire song playing? Yeah, gotta be Metal Gear Rising Revengeance
For a game that's generally easy even in hard difficulty... senator armstrong final phase really made me sweat. He had me going for 1 hour before I could finally beat him. He's THE final boss.
Bernarax Loesgeldt The concept of giving everyone equal opportunity to thrive is a good one, yet his plan to cause this is heavily flawed. Armstrong is such a well-written villain because of the major flaws in his logic, as his main ideas are pure and he has a clear passion and belief for what he fights for. His points are actually opinions which many cynics of American government have today. What keeps him from being a hero are his methods, which cause the player to hate him and want to take him down. He’s a villain that makes you second-guess yourself without making you start believing he’s the hero.
@@Risiko94 I'm sure everyone agrees that Armstrong was right about wanting everyone to control their own destinies. The IDEA of Armstrong's ideals are appealing, American, even. @Luis Martinez makes no sense? Yeah sure, making a world for people to live by their own choices makes no sense. Y'know a world devoid of the corporate elite is a world that shouldn't exist.
@Luis Martinez you act as if I said his entire ideology is correct, I didn't.
@Luis Martinez how? My comment never said he was 100% right, I just said he has a point. And you seemingly ignored my last comment. What's with all these people and going "I win" for no reason. But fine I guess, you win. I'm not going to drag on a conversation with people that don't want to change their mind.
@Luis Martinez you really just be assuming huh? mAn dIFfErEnt OpInION, thEREfOrE wrONG. Sorry that the idea of a less corporate world offends you so much.
I'm amazed by how this is becoming a more realistic scenario by the day.

@@J0sh1ngAr0und We need to do away with the two-party system. The only reason I side with Republicans is because they serve my biases. That's it. We need more diversity of thought, because ironically, having only two successful parties takes away from the freedom of expression the Founding Fathers wanted.

@@J0sh1ngAr0und Thank you for seeing my point of view, lol. It's one I've thought about and heard from other people, and if there's one idea I'll perpetuate, it's the freedom and autonomy of the people.
Plus, is it not the most logical thing to admit to conformation bias? Is it not logical and reasonable to admit that you are human and prone to error? That's where many people go wrong with stuff: people act as if they have no biases, and that they are robots, that there can be a source or an idea that isn't influenced by their own selfish biases. It's not true. There will always be Fox Newses and CNNs, but they could at least admit it. Or, we could save that for OPINIONS. That's why there are opinion sections in the news. Report first, and commentate on it second.
In fact, fuck the 24 hours news cycle! That's why it's so biased: nobody has anything to talk about EXCEPT their opinions. Get rid of parties, and stop requiring the news to be 24 hours
Its literally based on the future lol
