In this course, Sumie teaches us the basics of how to put together a shamisen, how to tune, read shamisen music, and get a good sound. She will also guide us through different nuances that make the shamisen unique, and then apply it to our first piece: Sakura Sakura.
Even if you do not own a shamisen yet, this course is still a very informative and interesting watchthrough as the sound of the shamisen is very distinct and often heard in traditional Japanese music. We are so excited to expand our courses with the shamisen and its music.
