Just fixed one of those WAT Walbro and found that the needle fulcrum was set at level with the lower portion of fuel well as it’s supposed to be it still pumped to much fuel. Moved it away from the diaphragm post a smidge and it now idles like it should and runs out great. Before it would flood out and not idle even with the low jet needle all the way in.
Very good video on how to do this. I have the same chainsaw now for about 8 years. I use it all the time in the winter to cut wood for our fireplace. So far, it runs good. I do put carburetor cleaner in the gas tank every time I fill it up. Perhaps this is why so far I haven't had carburetor problems. But you video show what I need to do if and when the time comes! Thank you for posting.
Thanks Gary! Here's a link to another Video you may want to watch. Some issues you may want to know about and what to look out for! ruclips.net/video/ENfy3iiU4m0/видео.html
@@TheNovaJohn Thank you for the link! I will check it out. I will say that every time I use my Poulan, I take part of it apart and clean all the sawdust out of it. I just ordered a new bar for it cause the channel was getting worn where the chain sits in. This Poulan is a beast! I cut wood all Winter and it goes. Got my money's worth even if it died tomorrow.
Nope! The Throttle blade is open enough from the idle adjustment. We are spinning it over many times, especially on a two stroke.. We are measuring compressed gas, not its volume.
Not mirrored, it has to do with the frame rate of the recorded video, the playback and the speed of the twist. Often you can see this with wheels or other spinning objects in video/movies Thanks for watching!!!
Yea, these things can kick back bad and that will rip the handle hard out of ya hands not to mention sometimes they don't like to start right away so my hands have been beaten up in the past! Remember, these are unknown machines I fix, no history and success is not a guarantee! Good luck with yours, these aren't very good machines! Put gloves on lol
What was the spray lubricant you put on the pull cord assembly and flywheel…you said it turns to wax? You commented on how much you liked the product but never reviewed the can to the camera or mention it.
Sure,, its for things like bicycle / motorcycle chains and such but one day I was like,,,wow this stuff works great on soo many things! it was new to me as well even tho I used it before!
Thanks Henry,,,I even checked a search on the website. It must be some kind of sorting number not a stock number. Best way is to match up the parts on the pic and search the model and part number either on Amazon or on their website. That's how I do it.
@@TheNovaJohn I have been working on a HT 103. The complaint was the extendable shaft kept disengaging after full extension. I looked at the parts diagram at the extendable shaft intersection to the primary fixed shaft. It showed the c clip connected to the shaft then the shaft to enter into the shaft bearing end cap! That is why it always disengaged as the c clip shaft enters from the other side of the bearing cap. Can’t believe all the detailed drawings show the assembly sequence incorrect at the very important section. Before I could determine what was wrong I called Stihl dealership which their drawings also show the INCORRECT assembly sequence! WOW! Then I got lucky and got another one to take apart and look at the assembly. It was assembled with the clip on the other side of the bearing which is how it secures the shaft from falling away from the head engagement! Stihl dealership was very rude and completely useless for assistance. As they could not figure it out they would have put on a new assembly at nearly 400 dollars. I simply installed the shaft correctly and bingo no more issues! This thing apparently was put together incorrectly from factory even though the drawings show it correct!
@@TheNovaJohn I find that dealers have a shop rate over a 100 per hour, so all I have to do is fix saw or whatever for a reasonable price and I keep busy!
No but it is a little smaller then like a lawnmower. Try doing a lookup for a stock replacement pull of some kind then maybe they will show the size. I have sooo much extra that I stopped caring lol
3 months ago...W V wrote you about the "mirror image" which you dismissed. He is correct, your camera reverses the whole view of the saw...so when you lie the saw on the side...looking at the Gas Tank, it appears on the RIGHT Side of the Saw in your video. When indeed....the Gas Fill is on the LEFT Side of the Poulan 3314 OR 3416(see 22:33 of your video). It is the Camera setting...nothing to do with the wheels or spinning objects....Just an suggestion, but "Google" or search for "REVERSED IMAGES on video camera" and you will see what W V is trying to tell you, which is your SAW IMAGE is reversed in your Video - making it confusing. Simply LOOK at your Saw and then...LOOK at the video and you will SEE the VIDEO IMAGE is flipped and often shows everything REVERSED and that is likely so in all your videos. So SHOWING video HOW TO's does not work so well if your RIGHT is our LEFT😃. Your choice to ignore...again, here is useful link: midnightphotographer.com/cameras-flip-images/
Yes I am aware, that is an older video and I now have a different video editor that allows me more flexibility. The camera is over head in those shots and facing forward in the opposite direction from where I am standing. I can now flip or reverse any image. Keep in mind, equipment is expensive and can often be complicated. It takes years of experimenting and experience. Once footage is taken most of us wont re-take it. Why would we, your not paying for this info. Many of us make little to no money in this effort so we do the best we can and know how. Calm down with the caps, learn some patience!

Good place to start with the screw is 1-1/2 turns out from seated.

Very detailed video.
Thanx Willy,,,,,Welcome to the channel!
thanx bro! my hoses sat for a year or so and just disintegrated! fixed it up and it is a good homeowner saw! good tips with lube and tranny juice.
Thanx!!! Glad to hear,,,yes it is a good simple saw for around the house/yard or even firewood work
I believe you should hold the throttle wide open for the compression test. I could be wrong.
Nope! The Throttle blade is open enough from the idle adjustment.

Great video! About to service my P3314. (2009) First time for me. Definitely subbed too. 👍😊
Thanks Matt!! Welcome!!
I noticed that parts of the carb repair video is mirror imaged, since you tightened the screws turning CCW. ;) Good info for carb repairs.
Not mirrored, it has to do with the frame rate of the recorded video, the playback and the speed of the twist. Often you can see this with wheels or other spinning objects in video/movies

@@TheNovaJohn No, it is mirrored. About 20 minutes in, the fuel filler is on the right side. At the beginning of the video, it is on the left side.
I agree with you. About 20 minutes in, the fuel filler is on the right side. At the beginning of the video, it is on the left side.
The throttle lever comes off before the carb comes off!
squirts gas all over bare hands the entire video. Puts gloves on to start it lol. Great video. hope it helps me fix mine.

Chain wax, like I said,, look it up or chain lube I have a video short on it and other videos as well
Thanks, great video
I’m new to chainsaw repair so I guess chain wax was new to me

Right around 23 min. The vid is in mirror/ reverse? Had me thinking what?? A right hand pull on a Poulan? Naaa! Then at 25:30 you corrected the view
Yea, early video and equipment...I've learned much and spent $$ on equipment since then.
@@TheNovaJohn any chance you have worked on a Stihl pole pruner, model 103/133.
No, dealers tend to get those repairs. Contractors have their people they prefer so for me not much traffic on saws in general.

Anyone know what the diameter in mm is of the pull rope?

I use a can of brake cleaner around the filler before I remove cap to fuel or oil tank
Keep the trash out and it’s good for years
Wow,, someone that actually gets it!!
Great to hear!
My 3314 has a 42cc engine 🤷🏼♂️
The whole video is mirror imaged
Some of it is,, not the 'whole video'
very hard to shoot small machines and not get in the way.
