  • Naloxone is a drug that reverses the effects of opioids on the brain and can limit or stop an overdose when given to an individual overdosing on heroin or a prescription opioid. House Bill 170 gaves friends, family members, and others who may be in the position to assist someone suffering from an opioid overdose the ability to administer naloxone as long as they receive the drug from a licensed heath professional. This video, produced by the Ohio Attorney General's Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA), is an educational video regarding the administration of naloxone. An eOPOTA naloxone training video for law enforcement is accessible to officers via the Ohio Law Enforcement Gateway (OHLEG).
