RE: PAUSING, EXPRESSIONS & AIR-INSTRUMENTS:
Please be mindful that we will pause (we prefer to react in the moment & to avoid copyright strike), we will react with enthusiasm, smiles, tears, conversation, exchanged looks and air-instruments. We are expressive by nature and are truly very quirky in every sense of the word. This is who we are and this is what we’ve got to offer. We understand it may not be for everyone, but here's to hoping you all enjoy and we absolutely love positive comments and feedback.

Loved this, Sidecar! All major songs. I’ll point out two of the musicians on Country Road - Carole King on piano, and Randy Meisner of the Eagles (who died just two weeks ago) on bass. And David Crosby and Graham Nash singing harmony on Nick’s choice, Mexico. I’ve been lucky enough to see 4 out of 5 of these major singer/songwriters live in my lifetime. Only missed Jerry Jeff Walker. Off topic, let me also wish Robbie Robertson everlasting peace. The Walker song reminded me of him.
I did not know Randy Meisner had died ☹
@@scottanderson8420 Yes, makes me wonder who will be on their last tour, besides Henley.
Every one of these artists is a powerhouse and a favorite!
James' Taylor's Copperline is sublime! His roots to be sure.
Dude, you're like the hardest working man in the whole reaction biz. You deserve more respect and orders of magnitude more likes!
I can barely keep up and the content is the most diverse.More subscriptions and likes are definitely needed
Just getting to this one now LOL
Absolutely fantastic lineup, Sidecar, especially adding Steve Earle (pronounced Erl) - I'd rather hear his originals than Rod Stewart any day. Neil Young is known as a rocker but his country roots run deep and his use of lyrics and minimalist production make him extraordinary! James Taylor creates some of the smoothest melodies of the 70s and 80s. Jerry Jeff Walker epitomizes rebel country. John Hiatt is one of the cleverest singer-songwriters around - he has written dozens of top 20 hits that others covered, but he himself is a fine performer. Steve Earle is a fantastic songwriter and one of America's greatest musical storytellers. Love this marathon! EDIT: The slide guitar on Memphis in the Meantime was the great Ry Cooder. John Hiatt is a decent acoustic and rhythm guitarist and plays piano but his #1 talent is songwriting.
Your bonus song: Mexico is a double treat since his then wife Carly Simon is doing the background vocals.
Jerry Jeff Walker's song MR. BOJANGLES, LIKE A COAT FROM THE COLD, MISSISSIPPI YOU'RE ON MY MIND, PUBIC DOMAIN,
PICK UP THE TEMPO and especially DESPERADOS WAITING FOR A TRAIN are all amazing songs from the late, great singer and
songwriter. You should really give some of these songs a try. Thank you for playing Jerry Jeff today. I've loved him since he wrote
Mr. Bojangles,. An Icon of Americana/Gonzo Outlaw Country Music.
Good pull Sidecar!!
Jaded Lover by Jerry Jeff Walker is one of my favorites.
SUPERB rendition of the first James Taylor tune Nick.. you were spot on! He is one of my favorite artists. I'm going to get in a request one of these days with James being the artist. Of course, I have a favorite album which is Mudslide Slim and the Blue Horizon.. listen to it front to back as often as I can.. raised my daughters on this music and used to sing the music to them when I rocked them as babies.. one has lyrics to one of the songs permanently inked on her body. Also love Neil Young and listened to Harvest non-stop as a 14 year old girl. The Jerry Jeff Walker tune took me back... had not heard it in years and loved it. Here's to you ole skinny Dennis.. LOL. Had not heard the Steve Earle (pronounced Earl) or the John Hiatt before but thoroughly enjoyed them. Again Nick.. thanks for the tunes and great job Sidecar!! Take care everyone!
Long Ago and Far Away may be the most beautiful song JT ever did. Try John Hiatt's Adios California from his album Dirty Jeans and Mudslide Hymns. ruclips.net/video/xBaTTB0o4oY/видео.html
@@sidecardog5244Yes, with Joni singing behind him! Another one I love is One Morning in May, where Linda Ronstadt gets a solo!
Gotta hear James Taylor Carolina In My Mind. That song makes me tear up every time i hear it for some reason. I just love it.
Great line up but I have to shout out John Hiatt - an underappreciated singer song writer.
Nick, no better song to hear steel guitar than Mandolin Wind (plus wonderful mandolin riffs). I hope you eventually get to hear it. The influence of the English country sound of The Faces is all over this tune (and the lyrics are so heartbreaking). It is my favorite Rod Stewart song. Damn UMG.
I'll make a little trial with one minute. If it's not blocked I can maybe do a reaction with Alexia. Let me see 😉
Thanks for adding Jerry Jeff to this great lineup all winners.
Great artists thanks and rip Robbie Robertson from The Band !
All fantastic artists and tunes. Steve Earle is one of my favorites. He has a lot of great albums. Copperhead Road is his most popular song but he has so many others that are better Imo. Several years back, Steve recorded a song with a friend of mine, Bill Lyerly. It's called Hangman if you'd like to give it a listen. There's a Jerry Jeff Walker album you should add to your collection called Viva Terlingua. It's a good one to play when you're cooking out on the grill and taking tequila shots 😆
RIP Jerry Jeff and Guy Clark (Guy wrote L.A. Freeway)
Hey Nick, that was a pedal steel guitar on the Neil Young tune. Harvest is a fantastic album. It's my favorite Neil Young album. He has a lot of special guest on the album. One of them being James Taylor, playing banjo & doing backing vocals on two of the biggest bits off the album, Heart Of Gold & Old Man.
The James Taylor song was great two. I believe Country Road was the name of the album to
Also Nick, the Rod Stewart song Mandolin Wind is a beautiful song. Listen to the original studio album Every Picture Tells A Story if your going to do it. Even if you listen on your own if your afraid of it being blocked. That whole album is great to & also my favorite Rod Stewart album.
Totally agree. Country Road is on Sweet Baby James, by the way.
'Memphis in the Meantime' sounded great again after not hearing this song in a long while. That John Hiatt album used to be on heavy rotation for me, "back in the day" with several great songs.
Same vein- Amazing Rhythm Aces
jerry jeffs getting by or Little bird.. we used play golf with him in austin occasionally . awesome man
every song on Viva Terlingua
Viva Terlingua is my go to album when camping on the Frio. Got to mix up a little Sangria Wine.
Your JT was most impressive! What an ear you have. Even two! He is the sweetest man, and I hope he pays y'all a visit. Hey Sweet Baby! Come on over and shower these good people some of your good love! Our folks dined in Caroline. They would want you to do dis.
"Country Girl" by Young, on "Deja Vu" would have been a good one for this great marathon. First song I learnt auf der guitar.
Dalai Lama once said that kindness was his religion. It is a good standard, I think.
If you get a chance, you should listen to James's live version of "Country Road" on his "Live" album. It's James a bit older and the song is spectacular.
JT with Country Road is incredible with some master musicians playing along with James!
Steve Earle!!!
What a fabulous list of artists. ❤
Thanks guys. Great set. 😎👍🍁
Ry Cooder guitar with John Hiatt. Special. Cracking album.
Two amazing albums from Steve Earle are “Guitar Town” and “Exit 0” exit zero. I highly recommend all the songs on these albums.
David Crosby and Graham Nash both sing harmony on Taylor’s “Mexico”.
Gram Parsons only had 26yrs but changed music as we know it
The Best of Live of James Taylor has Country road on it, and it is better than the original recording.
Great addition with JT's Mexico, Nick. I've got a special place in my heart for Sweet Baby James as we are both from North Carolina (Try his song Carolina in My Mind). He moved on to New England while I went to Texas.
My current favorite song about Mexico is by a local legend here in South Texas, Roger Creager. It's called Where the Gringos Don't Go and it's about those beautiful little places south of the border that the locals all know, and are far from the touristas. It's a romanticized look at Mexico through Texan eyes. Sadly, the reality of the cartel controlled border has kept me out of that beautiful country for the last 20 years (and Cancun and Cozumel don't count).
Ps, Rip Jerry Jeff and Robbie.
My compliments on this marathon. This one features three of my favorite singer-songwriters in Young, Hiatt, and Earle.
As a native Texan but 38 years removed I really appreciated your addition of Jerry Jeff Walker. I grew up on the high plains around Lubbock but I love the big Bend country.
Always up,for some good Americana, even if it’s eight days late! Really too bad about Rod Stewart, but unless there is a situation like the Eagles where they threaten the channel, I would say just go ahead and do it and if it gets blocked so be it, on to Patreon. Some music you just need to hear.
Jerry Jeff's fantastic live version of "LA Freeway" on "A Man Must Carry On" is greatly superior to the much more subdued studio version, the best song to have blasting leaving LA. ruclips.net/video/xtHOUC6UY9s/видео.html Also check out his turbocharged live version of "Don't It Make You Wanna Dance" on the same album.
Man oh man I thought you were gonna play Mexico by Steve Forbert, I’m sad.
Lucinda Williams cant let go
Nick react Southern Empire, amazing progressive rock band!
The Indios are even more Indio in Guatemala. So lovable. Ive been missing them for 30 years.
I think the selection is fantastic but I miss the Neil Young rocker with that unique sound of his saturated electric guitar. Saludos
Serious blast from the past. Sigh. . . What you're calling Americana could also be called folk music.
Play with a Pedal Steel sometime
