Hey guys! Just wanted to invite you to check out our latest crawl space encapsulation project! This project is the BIGGEST crawl space we have ever done! ruclips.net/video/F--zd4RANa0/видео.html
Thank you. This is an old one. At the time, it was top shelf. But, as the years went on, I progressed my methods. If you look at the newer projects, they will make this one look not so good. But I sure was proud of it at the time. Thank you for commenting. CRAWLSPACEARTISTS.COM

Hello everyone! Tanner here. Just wanted to drop in here to first and foremost say THANK YOU to all of you who have chosen to view this particular project we did. To those of you who like what you see in the finished project, I would like to mention that we did this job over one year ago. We do these jobs pretty much week in, and week out. And anytime you are doing an endeavor week in, and week out, as we do with crawl space encapsulations, well in my opinion, I think you should be progressing in that endeavor. I am really weird myself about always trying to ''outdo'' our last project. Whatever ''outdo'' means! But with all that being said, I want to invite you to see one of our most recent projects. This link I am about to paste is a job we finished a few weeks back in Cleveland, TN. The crawl space encapsulation in the video was done with a 20 mil poly as well. You are welcome to see the project here ruclips.net/video/edfSMyH9gak/видео.html
Are the exterior walls insulated - blue or pink foam board? I have seen that recommended, but there is so much contrary info out there, Also, is that installation fairly fry underneath now, or do you still have a lake under the barrier?
There is no need for any insulation boards on the walls. The lake is gone. My buddy did a french drain and double sump pump job on it before we encapsulated it. It was nowhere near the french drain/sump pump jobs we do today. CRAWLSPACEARTISTS.COM
I do not know what you mean by turning the dryer down. I never did any projects any differently. If I needed to lower humidity, I just bumped the dehumidifier up a bit. Sometimes multiple dehumidifiers are needed.
Most every single one of mine would take 48 hours or less to reach 50% humidity or lower. I have had a few stubborn ones that never wanted to get under the low 50's. I can actually only think of one. And it's a stone foundation in direct sun.
Great great job. Beautiful job. My crawling space is encapsulated but the air coming in from the air conditioning ducts still smells like humidity. It drives me crazy. What should I do?
@@TannerFlowers Thank you for responding, I really dont know you see, this is my first experience with a crawling space. We just moved here from Nevada and we didn't have these over there. Plus, it is super dry there. Here is super humid. We just recently moved to Nashville and this is our first time dealing with a crawling space.
Look for a dehumidifier under there. Also look and see if any humidistat fans have been installed in any of your foundation vent openings. You will see the same formula in all my videos. An encapsulation is 100% useless without the dehumidifer system. A dehumidifier system in a crawl space is a waste of money as well, if the crawl space has not been encapsulated. They work together as a team. And the humidistat fans will remove the then pressurized air from within the crawl space, and send that air outside the home. Without them, if the encapsulation was done properly, and there is a dehumidifier under there, inside the home will smell just like cat piss.
ivan ivanovich Prices are not determined by square footage alone. I need several other numbers, which I get when I measure and graph each home. Our jobs typically start around seven thousand and go up from there. Some go way up. Over 2k square feet would be over.
Yes. Since 2008 I have only installed Santa Fe dehumidifiers. Smaller crawl spaces typically call for the Compact unit, and the larger ones call for the Advance unit. Some projects call for multiple units. Depends on the size and layout of the foundation.
Tanner, great video and thanks for the info! Question.. did this home have wood floors and if so what is your best opinion as to what happens to a wood floor that has been exposed to high moisture for a long period of time? I don’t want to stop the moisture under my home just to have the floors damaged at a later date.
Tim Green Most people call due to floors being damaged, or starting to show signs of damage. I have heard nothing but great things: buckling floors going down, less popping and cracking, warmer, etc. But, I also am no flooring expert. I do appreciate you watching the video though. And thank you for your comment.
Tanner Flowers Thanks for your response. It’s refreshing to know of someone that uses their expertise and experiences to educate. Many folks today just want a fast buck.
Tim Green this is all I've done for years. When we started doing encapsulations back in 2008, we only had 6 mil poly, and spray adhesive. We had no tape. We had no wall anchors. I mean, the jobs at their time, were above and beyond anything any of us had ever seen. But over the years, products advanced, and we got new products. So ever since about 2010-or early 2011, we started getting all the specialty tapes. They increased poly thickness. We had 12 mil fiberglass reinforced poly available. And the jobs became sealed so tight, that we had to start installing the humidistat fans you always see us using now. The majority of my crawl space education has came from nothing more than learning through trial and error. The system itself has not changed in years. You don't ever change what works. And if you have been battling moisture problems in your crawl space, I would not spend my money on anything other than what you see me doing in all these videos. Anything different, or less than what you see, can, and will likely result in wasted money. Nobody likes wasted money. :)
Tanner Flowers Thanks again for your experienced reply. I have a sloping crawl that flows water toward the front of my home. It flows into an exposed footer and stands. Do you think I need to address this first then encapsulate? If so, addressing this is beyond my own knowledge and I don’t know where to start. If you think I should just encapsulate over the standing water, and we’re not talking about a huge area of water, I’ll continue to watch your videos and learn more. Let me restate that, I’m going to watch your videos anyway but what’s your best advise? I know it’s always better to see the problem so I’m only asking your professional opinion. The woods moisture is 20 to 30%; 5’ above the grade.
There was two sump installations, and drains leading to them, performed by the college's service team, before any of our encapsulation work began. There will always be moisture in the soil, underneath the system. 👍
Sorry it took me so long to reply too Mike. I just now am seeing your question. Thanks for watching my video as well. I appreciate it. If you'd like, click on my new videos. This project here was several years ago now. Our new projects just keep getting slicker and slicker!
Bill Thompson No I do not Bill. You can email me some pics of what you are dealing with. Go to crawlspaceartists.com and the email is iwantthebest@crawlspaceartists.com
It is the only way I am aware of. The encapsulation does not stop it itself. It is a combination of the encapsulation, the dehumidifier system, and the humidistat fans working together.
It may reduce the condensation that would be caused by the clash of the moisture/humidity arising from the floor, but if there are vents, that's causing the biggest source of air that could clash.
No thank you. Haha! Wait until you see how much ground leveling we had to do in this upcoming finished project video. Hoping to wrap it up on Wed or Thurs.

I gotta question. I get my house exterminated every 2-3 yrs. Will he need to remove that wrap ?
Not if he's experienced.
Awesome job man
Thank you very much Silus. This one was definitely a rough one for sure!
The old one looks like our house now that we just bought 6 months ago. Im heart broken. We need to get it fixed.
That is what a lot of them look like before.
Well done
Thank you! That one had some tough situations!
Roughly how much did this job cost? Would be great to know.
This was years ago. I do not recall. I speak on price a bit more in new crawl space videos. Watch some of them and maybe they will help you more.

I think it would be wise to insulate all water lines to prevent condensation dripping on top of the vapor barrier. Correct?
No need in our projects. There is no condensation on any lines once our projects are complete. Maybe in a normal crawl space, yes.
