I clicked to you as soon as I saw your title about personal style. Other RUclipsrs rarely sit down and have a chat about how they feel about personal style. A lot tell us what they like but not the whole look and style overall. I love how you talked about styling the hat, t-shirt and hand bag with scarf together. That was super helpful because you showed how to pull it off with white sneakers. Your sneakers didn’t have yellow. Which I liked because I can’t have the entire color wheel of shoes. Or can I?! Haha! I definitely have felt bad in an outfit because it wasn’t my style. As I get older I get more adventurous with my style. You are way ahead of where I was at your age. Keep up the good work!
Thank you I am so pleased you enjoyed ! Sharing outfits and how I pull them together is something I enjoy and really do believe in it being about the look as a whole and if the outfit isn’t great one piece (bag, shoe etc.) can’t save it in my book !

I know what you mean. I’m in this mode now where I’m buying it when I see it and I’m getting pieces for all occasions because it is hard to find it when you need it. Take your time. Shopping is the fun part. :)
I’m so happy that you know your style and what works for you, Nick. I think it’s only human to second guess yourself when trying to dress for other people. However, you seem to have a great plan going forward to get a suit that is you; besides, your friends love you for you and that includes your personal style. Anyone who doesn’t isn’t a true friend. As another commenter said, don’t ever change because you are great.

Great video! I totally understand the feeling you had at the wedding. I think occasions like weddings and funerals often lend themselves to a certain “uniform” style of dressing that can feel very bland. It’s easy to go reaching into the back of the closet to pull something out that fits the bill. I think your idea of shopping ahead for something that is more you makes perfect sense! That boxy, gray suit is definitely not it! Btw, you are almost to 3K subscribers! 😃
Was most definitely not it haha !! But for some reason knowing that I still had it cleaned and put it back in the wardrobe 😂😂
I really appreciate this video. I have to say, I tend to have the opposite problem, in that I almost always feeling uncomfortable in what I wear, or decide against wearing something I would really like to wear. Being both not a size 0, and a woman of a big age, I think I've spent most of my life internalizing the judgements of others/society based around what's appropriate for a certain size or a certain age. It's always been a struggle to set that aside and wear things I feel good in, and not what is supposed to be appropriate for my age or will mask/minimize me. So I thank you for the affirmation!
This was so me for such a long time. It used to be I couldn’t find clothes that were stylish because of my size; they were almost always dowdy and made me look like an old lady when I was younger. But these days I dress in colors I use to avoid and I wear more flattering outfits. It took me a long time to get here, but I try to make my 63 year old self look smart (as they used to say in the olden days, lol!).
Thank you for sharing that ! I definitely believe in dressing for yourself and what makes you smile not what others want or expect from you. And in fairness, a lot of time, they don’t even have those thoughts, it’s just us putting expectations and restrictions on ourselves ! You have to make yourself happy in whatever it is you do and put you first :)
Yep get you , I’ve worn a few disasters at weddings looking back nic , also got it spot on , one of the bast ones was a wedding I went to late eighties, all from m&s white blazer long pleated skirt and the most beautiful limited edition multi coloured shirt❤ had so many compliments that day and felt a million dollars xxx

I think your style is amazing! I love the way you put clothes together! Although I'm sure you looked very nice in your grey suit (sans handbag?!?😲) , it seems Living out loud Nick was invited to a wedding but Living Quietly Nick showed up.

Thanks Nick for this. I was surprised that you wore a grey suit…so unlike you and your personality. I thought you wore a print jacket, dark pants and a bright tee…you can wear outstanding outfits at weddings cos everyone is looking at the bride…😂😂😂
I should have gone for something different for sure ! Lesson learned ! Absolutely were looking at the bride as she looked amazing !! 🤩
