    Gas or Wood stove... I have both.
    Gas canisters can be added on expenses in comparison to wood stoves, as one just needs to collect wood and start the stove.
    A wood stove takes a long time to start and if you are in damp conditions, using a wood stove might not be possible. Here gas stoves perfectly. Starts instantly and is ready to use.
    So there are pros and cons of both. Which one to use depends on situation at hand.
