Hi Ruby 🌼 I'm a viewer from Italy and I always watch your videos even if I rarely comment. Your poetic soul always makes me reconnect with the desire to cultivate love for the little things and for literature. Your videos are a gift for the soul and they make me want to explore England and its countryside. Watching these videos motivates me a lot to create art, write, make videos and explore 💚 thanks for sharing all this ✨
Exactly, I'm Brazilian and I get a lot of inspiration watching her videos. When I finish watching I want to make some tea and read a good classic literature, haha. 😊
am Korean, we are identical. Love her so much and can't even begin to express how much I've been motivated by her. You are so amazing girl. anyhow congratulations to Ruby on getting into Oxford!
I live so close to Haworth and love visiting. The views are spectacular and the walks are amazing. You should visit Saltaire next time. It’s a World Heritage Site. A short journey from Keighley is Oakworth where they filmed the original railway children.
Ruby, I relate deeply to your lifestyle. I'm often teased for taking solo trips and enjoying so much of life by myself. People just don't understand it. Your videos reassure me that I have soul sisters around the world who share my interests. This is a wonderful video. I've always wanted to see the moors. Charlotte is my favourite writer of the Brontë sisters - Jane Eyre is one of the most atmospheric books ever written. Thank you for all you do. x
I just booked a trip to Paris - and I am going by myself. Nobody understands why I am not going with my boyfrieden, how I dare to visit "the city of love" on my own. I have never been there and surely want to see different things than my friends or my boyfriend would like to see. There is nothing weird for me about solo trips. And honestly... I think many people are just too scared to spend time alone or to break a "society's rule" or something.
Agreed. I sometimes feel so weird for going out and doing things by myself. I’m extremely introverted so I like being alone. When I do go out in the company of others it’s with my family.
As someone who lives in West Yorkshire and not too far from Haworth and York, this was one of my favourite videos ever!! I loved seeing you appreciate what Yorkshire has to offer, it made me feel so privileged that I live among this beauty and literary culture. Thank you so much for the lovely video💕🌷
Ruby, this is my favourite video of yours. Not only is it wonderful to see my beloved Yorkshire moors filmed so beautifully, but it is joyous to see you so free and happy. The poem you shared was so lovely, thank you. I hope you carry the feeling of being wild and alone on the moors with you when you return to daily life.
I don't comment often, but I must take a second to thank you. I find it hard to socialize and to meet people with interests similar to mine, and often I miss opportunities because I'm afraid to do stuff by myself. Seeing you take solo trips and have a great time is really inspiring!
Dear Ruby, thank you so much for constantly uploading videos. Even though I doubt you will ever see this, I wanted you to know how much I appreciate your videos. They make me so much more productive and happy. Please come to Ireland some day (especially Dublin) there are many hidden literary jewels found everywhere. Best wishes to you always, Aidi ❤
I'm from the North of Catalonia, and I spent the last 10 days solo travelling from Lancaster to Carlisle through the Lakes, doing some literary tourism, following the paths of John Ruskin, William and Dorothy Wordworth, Samuel Coleridge, Thomas de Quincey... This kind of trips "give life to thee", and that was one of the best experiences I've ever had, especially because going solo you talk to lots of different people. I'm glad you enjoyed it too, and highly recommend visiting the Lakes!
wow - I already feel quite adventurous just from reading that!! 😅 It sounds absolutely wonderful + exciting! Also 'chapeau' for doing in on your own!! 👏🏼
This is just so comforting for my soul. As a fellow pluviophile it’s just gorgeous. Here in Australia we are in drought and in desperate need of rain. Everything is so brown and sunburnt. Smoke hangs in the air and chokes the sun turning it red. Seeing Yorkshire in the cold wet is soothing Thankyou
Yay, I love these bookish trips! I hope you do more of them and share them with us. They’re the next best thing to going there myself. It looks like you had a wonderful time!
When you said you didn’t know about the random boulders on the moors - it was probably glaciers! They were so huge during the last ice age they carried very large boulders then when the glaciers melted the boulders were dumped, and that’s where they’ve been since! They’re called “erratics” ☺️
I think she was on Penistone Hill. Just outside Haworth. It has several carparks and is a popular picnic area. Much of the hill has old quarries on it.
Although I am a 59-year-old woman in Pennsylvania, I feel that you and I are kindred spirits. I hope to make it to Brontë country someday. Thank you for bringing me there with you in this video.
This is the coziest, most atmospheric solo travel vlog I've ever seen 😍 Yorkshire looks absolutely stunning! I definitely want to learn more about the Brontë sisters now.
Hi Ruby! I'm from the Philippines and I rarely comment on videos, but this, this one is so wonderful. I live in the UK now and Wuthering Heights is one of my fave classics ( I especially loved how Bronte described the moors as one would describe people, and described the characters as one would the moors, and yet it makes more sense, it's genius really ), and you inspired me to go to Haworth and do this walk, hopefully soon. I appreciate your effort in capturing the moments and sharing them to us. You are truly an incredible soul. Please do more of these bookish trips please. You are made for this!
I made my friend watch this while we ate breakfast this morning, in preparation for our own Haworth adventure! We had a lovely time and it was fun to see the places you'd mentioned. Guttingly, the museum is actually closed on Tuesdays! Thankfully, the moors themselves never close. They were stunning in the sunshine but we loved seeing them in their dreary glory in your video. Thanks for being part of our day!
Great Yorkshire tour. Hebden Bridge and Heptonstall are great to explore. Lots of vegan shops and cafes. Haworth very atmospheric. I remember walking up to High Withens with a hole in my sandshoes when I was a student. Just added to the atmosphere!
Your videos frequently remind me to slow down and appreciate the simple beauties around me in my day to day life. I am quite grateful for your videos and perspectives you’ve shared over the years. Thank you for bringing light and joy here to RUclips 😊 hope you’re well x
I'm from Yorkshire and I truly wish more of it was still like this and not just the countryside parts. Most towns are massively run down. It's sad to see the loss of history and culture in those parts. There's a beautiful square in the city I live in (in Yorkshire) that dates back to the 1700s and in the next few years it's going to be gentrified which is really sad.
I loved watching the BBC's "To Walk Invisible". The scene where Charlotte discovers Emily's poetry hidden in her room and reading part of "The Prisoner" over shots of Emily striding across the moors made me buy Penguin's "Emily Bronte: The Complete Poems". I'm not a big fan of poetry but these were something special. Oh and of course that heritage railway line is where "The Railway Children" was filmed.
Glad the moors freaked you out. I've lived here all my life and they can still just randomly terrify you. Being spooked by nature is a key Yorkshire experience.
I'm from the US and recently went to the UK for the first time and it was amazing. Edinburgh was my favorite place out of the ones we went to, but there's so much more to explore. Your video really inspires me to come back sooner and solo travel through some more cool towns and villages. I also enjoyed traveling by train and it was great to see the familiar LNER in your video!
I went to Haworth back in October, 2019 and you stayed in the exact same room as mine at Weavers guesthouse. I'm glad that I can see the roads that I took in your video.
What an exquisite trip you experienced and thanks for taking us along! I can only imagine the ethereal connection with the Bronte sisters while walking the moors that inspired so much of their writing. I am hoping you will share the text of the poem you wrote in a later video or put it on your website; I’m sure there are others besides me that would love to read things you’ve written. Ruby, each video you post is inspiring, thank you.
Fabulous!! Thanks so much for sharing this trip with us, Ruby. Jane Eyre is my favorite, and I've read and taught it for decades. I'll probably never get to make that trip, but you did everything I wanted to. Best wishes at Oxford!
Dear Ruby, thank you for sharing this beautiful trip with us. I really love this travel vlog. You really captured so much beauty! Yorkshire looks absolutely beautiful! The rain and mist, the landscape with such unique form. Love the architecture, art and poetry. The sounds of all the birds! I watched this video two times to take all the beauty in. Thank you for sharing this. You are so so brave to take that walk all alone! You are an adventurer! You come alive when you are on an adventure in nature. Truly wonderful Ruby and congratulations for such lovely vlog.
This has become one of my favourite RUclips Channel, It just makes me Happy everytime I see she has post a new video, Ruby has a beautiful soul and reminds me that there are good things and good people in the world
Hi Ruby! Thank you for sharing your trips and adventures with us. UK has so many beautiful, inspiring landscapes, countrysides to behold. Whether in Summer or winter, if it gets warm or if it gets cold, Those places still have stories that need to be told.
Hello Ruby! This documentation of your trip was absolutely phenomenal; I can’t wait to travel and see the world- even the charming little village, like you do. To be able to visit the grounds that made way for some of the best works in literature must have been more than inspiring. I’m so happy you decided to share this with us!
Utterly joyous video, lots of high points, one, the mist forming over the moors as you begin reading the turbulent start of Wuthering Heights... the silver tea service and scones, the fabulously painted piece of furniture in the Bronte House, the lovely hotels and the Moors themselves and you spinning round with a big smile, this was so uplifting, thank-you so much for your detailed recording of your life and what you love, it must take so much effort and calculation, and time, but is so appreciated. I think this is one of your finest videos.
Ruby, this is such an inspiring video. I'm writing from Australia and planning to take time back in Europe to visit away places of great poets and writers next year. It was wonderful that you showed us the poem on death and took time for us to visit with you Sylvia Plath's final resting place. This is the second video I have been honored to watch. Thank you so much. Carolyn
Just wanted to pop on and say I'm gutted I missed you! I work at Bettys York and was in on Easter Saturday! I found your RUclips channel at the beginning of the year and it has become my go to. I absolutely love the calming and poetic nature of your channel. Your interests are very similar to mine - reading, poetry, walking, Literature! You are such a peaceful influence and have helped me improve my routines hugely. So a big thank you, and next time you are in Bettys pop and say hi! Heather in York Shop ☺️
Having gone to England this past summer and missed Yorkshire and York, your video was a tonic. Thank you for taking us along and sharing your time with us!
Ruby, your video is beautiful and touching. ❤️ It got me all teared up. Wuthering Heights is my favourite novel and it is my dream to visit the place which inspired this heart-wrenching story.
Hi Ruby, new subscriber here! This video is really comfy, cosy & very well made, good job! You probably won't see this, but my family is from Yorkshire, & when I went over on my OE 29 (yikes!) years ago, I really felt like I was coming home. A weird feeling, but comforting at the same time. I adored the Moors, the intensity of the winter wind blowing me over, the scrubby grasses, the tiny rocks beneath my feet, the frosty air and grey sky. The village was adorable then, & still looks it now. The Parsonage was incredible, & I still have a photo of a younger me on my fridge, standing, grinning like an idiot in front of the Bronte Parsonage, and I loved every single second of my time there. Hello from New Zealand, by the way, and massive congrats about Oxford...good work!!!! 🙂
OMG! As soon as I saw the word Yorkshire I clicked on this video, I love reading and many of my favorite books have Yorkshire accents in them and they all live in cozy little towns and speak in such a way I can hardly read the dialogue! My favorite is the secret garden and the missel moor an everything and it’s the best!
Thank you Ruby! What a wonderful trip and good to be there with you. We visited Bronte parsonage back in 2019 on a very hot day in July! Only managed the walk part of the way due to the heat. So I am especially interested to see your walk to Emily's inspiration for Wuthering Heights! Have a great week! Greetings from the highlands of Scotland!
I love Haworth, hoping to visit soon with hubby and 8yr old! Happy to see you enjoying the amazing Yorkshire countryside. I'm a new viewer and I've enjoyed all your videos, oooo you made it to Hebden Bridge, another place I like and not far from where I live!!
I love your solo trips that you do! Inspiring me to just book a train ride and go exploring on my own. There's so much of the UK I still haven't seen and the sun and warmer days make so much more tempting!
I love Yorkshire. It feels like the heart of England. The best thing about the UK is the amazing literary heritage, and the way our literature is woven into the landscape. The Yorkshire moors mean the Brontes and Ted Hughes, just as Bath means Jane Austen, or the Lake District means Wordsworth, or Dorset means Hardy, etc. We don't appreciate it enough. Lovely video btw
I studied in York! It was so lovely to see familiar scenes around the city-I’m so glad you enjoyed your time there. Probably my favourite ever video of yours! 💕📚
There is something about England... Its is like living in a book , it is in the atmosphere... And all that vegan food everywhere... It had always been my favorite place to come. Thanks for your videos that makes me feel like I am there again!
I absolutely adored this video. I fell in love with Haworth and the moors when I first visited for a school trip in sixth from and have since return twice. Each time has shown me something new and I will never cease to be amazed at the raw, wild beauty of this area ❤
Ruby, this video made me so happy and nostalgic. I studied abroad from the U.S. last year and my host university was in Leeds. But I took many a trip to the Haworth (and the moors in general) and York of course! It just filled me with joy seeing it again as well as reminded me to read Wuthering Heights again. (Also, for anyone who visits York, there is an amazing pizza place that is authentic, Neapolitan pizza. Highly recommend and the owners are so kind.) ❤
Hey Ruby, I've been following ypu for so long and think you put a tremendous effort documenting your life. My question is, does it take away from the actual experience? I remember trying vlogging and realized I can't fully immerse myself and enjoy the moment, because I'm concentrating on camera angles, setting up camera to film myself walk by just to come back and pick it up..I couldn't do it in the end. How does this work for you? Maybe it's just second nature at this point. Anyway, thanks for your videos they are very enjoyable and inspiring, and it is a lot of work if you don't have an assistant.
Just found the channel from your uni vids ( which I related to soo much) I have just finished uni and figuring everything out! These are the most relaxing videos I have seen. Sitting with a cup of peppermint tea 😊
Very sensible to wear hiking boots to the moors! Wonderful vlog of exploring the environs of the Brontë sisters I hope to explore someday. You inspire me!
Always loved the top withens. Wuthering heights has to be my favourite Brontë story, it’s just so magical that a love can continue no matter what. I especially love the poem that Kate Bush had engraved onto a stone at the top withens, due to her connection with the song she wrote.
I loved this video! You give me so much motivation to study and read classics. I rewatch your old videos time to time. So relaxing and romantic. You live with the litareture, not just reading it. Love you, never change the way you look the world!
This is amazing, thanks for putting in the effort to capture the trip! A video can't match being there in person but the atmosphere comes through so well especially because of the narration. Haven't explored the Brontë's writings before but I love it. It's melodic and flows naturally, almost feels like a spontaneous stream of consciousness and yet it captures the imagery so vividly. Great narration too!
This was such a great video, Ruby! Jane Eyre has been my most favorite book, I've read and reread it at least half a dozen times (though Villette is a close second and easily underrated). It's breathtaking to get a glimpse into the Bronte Sister's world of gloomy moors, rainy atmosphere, and ancient stones. Thanks so much for sharing, and keep making such great content! ❤
This is just lovely! It reminded me of traveling to the Lake District and the Peak District when I was living in Manchester a couple years ago. In October I'm going back for a vacation and now I'm defintely considering going to Yorkshire at least for a couple days.
Loved the vlog, I will be visiting Yorkshire in August (from Australia!) and I can't wait! I agree too, rainy weather for the Wuthering Heights walk was perfect! ❤
I enjoy tagging along on your adventures, you have a unique perspective on things and make everything seem so interesting. Although if "An American Werewolf in London" taught me anything it is to stay on the road and keep clear of the moors. Glad you're safe.
I have always lived in the North Yorkshire coast and I just love the beauty of Yorkshire. I'm so glad you loved the moors, we are not far from the North Yorkshire moors and like you love the bleakness and eeriness of them. What I love about sure I love are the contrasts of the pretty coastal villages, the green of the valleys and the bleak moors. I grew up in Whitby which inspired Bram Stokers Dracula. I've never been to Haworth but it's been on my bucket list for assessments only living around 2 hours away. Your video has made me want to visit even more.
Ahh this is such a lovely vlog Ruby! So glad you enjoyed Haworth, it’s one of my favourite places as my family is from there so this has made me want to go back very soon (and rewatch To Walk Invisible again) Love the Parsonage so much ❤
Yorkshire has so many quaint towns and villages and some of the best walking of anywhere i have been. The Yorkshire coast is also incredible with its coastal walks and i fondly remember Scarborough and searching for Anne's gravestone at the church.
Hi, Ruby! That was an amazing journey, thanks for creating such a poetic and mysterious atmosphere😀 Great you don't mind travelling alone, I wish I could do it one day!
what a beautiful vlog! Haworth is a place I dream of visiting, even though I haven't read any books by the Bronte sisters. It would be a very educating trip. The village, goodness... I also got very excited when you mentioned that you met two women from Argentina, my country. How lovely. Everything in this video is delightful. Thank you for sharing the trip with us :)
There’s a US company called Grainger that sells industrial equipment and I think it’s so funny that I get ads for them whenever I watch your videos lol they’re listening! Also, love these bookish travel vlogs, especially when you go solo, it’s so inspiring! 🥰
I greatly enjoyed this video and you are up in Yorkshire Dales territory, which is talked about extensively in the All Creatures Great And Small series by James Harriot. I’m loving the version of the books so far on Masterpiece. There’s a lot of humor in addition to all of the veterinary services in the book and series. It was my mom‘s favorite book series and I never thought I would get into it but it’s good.
Oh God! the train looked like the one from Harry potter book part one, front cover The gentle breeze , the wide moorlands, your wild imagination coming to life. Nothing is better than travelling alone , just you and your self.
One of my favorite vidéos of you. Loved Yorkshire I wish to go there and do the same trip as you. So inspiring, calm and dreamy. I am from Paris and I love my city but England has such an historical, pure and brut sent that can't get enough of it. Love the light, the architecture, flowers, mountains. Thank you for this video.
Hello dear Ruby! Thank you for taking us, your followers, on this interesting trip. You are truly an extraordinary young woman in the best sense of the word and it is a privilege to be able to accompany you a little on your journey through life, which you share with us. Your journey and your video are 1000 times more interesting than the usual video content of other RUclipsrs. I am also a big fan of your wonderful voice and your wonderful English, which even I as an Austrian can understand very well. As far as your tea consumption is concerned, you are truly a typical Englishwoman through and through. But tea always goes so well with your content. Even in me as a typical Austrian coffee drinker, it often triggers the desire for tea. In this sense, stay as you are and I look forward to many more videos. Best regards from Vienna

Could you please make a video about how you stay safe while travelling alone?
Dearest girl, your poem brought me back 40 years ago when I read Wuthering Heights for the first time...makes the heart sing..ethereal beauty❤
The scenery is so beautiful, that words can't describe it💚
Ruby, this is such an inspiring video.
Heather in York Shop ☺️
the old hall and the black bull were both pubs which my family have owned years and years ago. its lovely to see someone enjoying Howarth
Hello Ruby, I like your literature trips very much. It's like being on a discovery tour yourself. Thank you!
I grew up in Hebden, moved to York when I was 11. It’s so lovely to see where I grew up and live now through someone else’s eyes!
Well done Ruby - that walk is not for the faint hearted…o’er hill and dale and in that wind too. I bet you had a nice cup of tea afterwards xx
Life is just better with Ruby’s videos. They show me that I should be grateful for everything and that life is beautiful
A viewer from china, your videos makes me calm and relax
what a beautiful place, so atmospheric and enchanting!
Your videos are so calming to the soul
You are touching souls, dear Ruby! You are inspiring me a lot to take walks in every kind of weather, to pursue my dreams and to be me.
I had a day trip to Haworth when I was in Skipton for work in early 2020. It's such a lovely place. Glad you enjoyed your time there.
hi ruby, I must say I love your vlogs so much they truly make my day and are so cozy and comforting to watch
Glad you're safe.
that pub looked really gorgeous lol not used to pubs looking so nice
I have always lived in the North Yorkshire coast and I just love the beauty of Yorkshire. I'm so glad you loved the moors, we are not far from the North Yorkshire moors and like you love the bleakness and eeriness of them. What I love about sure I love are the contrasts of the pretty coastal villages, the green of the valleys and the bleak moors. I grew up in Whitby which inspired Bram Stokers Dracula. I've never been to Haworth but it's been on my bucket list for assessments only living around 2 hours away. Your video has made me want to visit even more.
hello ruby, i´m learning english with your video, i love u
Thank you so much for filming this, Ruby.
It's actually one of my biggest wishes to travel to Haworth and see the Brontë's parsonage up close
Lovely to watch your vlogs, and seeing your happy face is always a good thing, Ruby. Thanks for sharing :)
Ruby you are so adorable ❤ what a wonderful vlog frrom one of my favourite places on earth
This was lovely Ruby! I loved every minute of this vlog, as a person who might never see this place in real time I truly appreciate it ❤
There’s a US company called Grainger that sells industrial equipment and I think it’s so funny that I get ads for them whenever I watch your videos lol they’re listening!
Also, love these bookish travel vlogs, especially when you go solo, it’s so inspiring! 🥰
I’ve just started reading Wuthering heights to-day! Excellent timing! Thank you again, as always Ruby! ❤
Such a beautiful place. Thank you for showing this to those that live in a big city and dream of seeing this one day.
Dear Ruby, I love everything about this video! And your poem gave me chills, thank you for sharing! Greetings from Mexico
Best regards from Vienna
this is soo lovely Ruby!! if theres a next time back to Yorkshire, you should come to Sheffield!
