Why the Upgrade?
Kenya Power is upgrading meters for improved security and a more efficient system. This ensures your tokens remain secure and helps Kenya Power better manage electricity delivery.
For more information dial *977# (option 1: prepaid services). Then you will find (option 4: Update meter yako). You will be asked of your meter number. Input the meter number and the SMS with the reset codes will arrive to your messages. If you get an error, just be patient. In the right time KPLC shall make it happen.

There are 2 ways to get codes:
1. KPLC will automatically send you an SMS with the 2 codes
OR
2. Go the manual way of getting the codes using *977# then option 1(prepaid services) then option 4(update meter yako)
If these methods fail to work, consider calling KPLC Customer care: Contact Centre hotline numbers 97771 or 0703070707 or 0732170170 for service-related enquiries
NOTE: Buying tokens does not guarantee that you will get the 2 sets of codes together with the tokens.
Buying tokens simply registers your number to the KPLC database so that when they reach your meter number you will automatically receive the SMS.

I updated my metre but after nimeshaupdate nikiweka tokens inasema old. Even if I buy new tokens it still says old

Sorry to hear that. If *977# is not working and haven't recieved the 2 set of codes, consider calling KPLC directly using their phone number contacts: 97771 or 0703070707 or 0732170170.

Buying Kplc tokens does not guarantee you will receive the reset codes.
Use *977# then option 1, then option 4 to check if your meter fits to get codes. (Note that this process is being done in Phases)

If you are getting this error "Is unavailable right now. Call 97771", be patient KPLC hasn't yet reached your meter number. Try again a few weeks from now.
