Frank Ocean IS the voice of our generation. he revolutionized modern music allowing us to go deeper once again. My favourite album of his is the unofficial Lonny Breaux mixtape. That's my roadtrip album. there you feel his immersive world-building lyrical talent. Pyrite, Quickly, Acura Intergurl, Scared of Beautiful, Flight, Know Better and Richest Man in the Room are all ICONIC!!
I was so happy to read this comment to see that other people know about that collection let alone can recall favourites ❤️ That mixtape will stay with me forever. Also, when you hear “Know Better” it’s easy to see why he ended up writing for Jason Derulo after this! Not only that but JR Rotem is credited on the production of a few of the songs on this collection, you can even hear his tags in a few. JR Rotem was the producer behind Jason Derulos breakout single “Whatcha Say”. Such a cool spiderweb I think 🕷️
waaaaooooow! I have been listening this sing thousands of time. first: I have no idea how it didn't make the cut in DJANGO UNCHAINED second: you are the only person that mentioned this masterpiece. Greeting from Oslo
Love the songwriting analysis. These days lyrics are something overlooked and I still think it’s a very important part of a song, regardless of the aim. At least that’s how I approach my music. Ivy is a song that I think about a lot, it’s a 9/10 in everything you said in this video.
I’ve been in trouble with myself making music since 2015 and always not finishing a track because of sharing it to the public while work in progress and end up not finishing it, its always a problem for me procastinating its been 7 years like this. This video opened up my mind to not share it and procastinate and work on the track till i finish it. Hopefully one day I will. Thanks for the Content i need this.
Loading on this... I'm starting to work on a video around a film director at the moment, and would love to do more on visual artists in the future. Thanks for the comment, and the steer on what you'd like to see.
The way in which Frank uses his artistic freedom to tell stories through his lyrics and music is nothing short of remarkable, and it's no surprise that his music resonates so deeply with us. His ability to use his creative freedom to engage listeners is truly unparalleled, making his music a true masterpiece of modern art. Great breakdown Creative Minds this was phenomenal 💯
absolutely love the songwriting analysis. I think many creators could benefit from more of these! I personally would love to see an analysis on a mac miller track. Thank you for your work.
Yesssss. This is what I've been kinda wanting to do, so great to hear that reflected in your opinion also. I would love to do a whole thing on Swimming, 'cause I just love that album, but my start a bit smaller than that lol. Thanks for the comment, appreciate you reaching out.
Your video shows us that you are a very good observer. Thank you for sharing your work Creative Minds. My fav Frank songs are Seigfried, Nights, Ivy, Strawberry Swing and Higgs.
Thanks for the comment and support. When people start listing Frank songs, it reminds you of how deep the quality in that discography goes. Thanks for adding your thoughts.
Great vid. I've seen like everything on Frank & you still managed to bring sumn new Thanks for the early support! Really appreciate you including the song
I like some of his songs but music not for me but he really has a beautiful pen and voice . You can learn something from everyone whether or not you like them or not
I hear that, I'm definitely going to line some more up, and maybe do a few series so I can dig into longer sections of songs/albums. Thanks for the comment.
Ooooh, I really like Sampha, I'll check out Moses (thanks for putting me on). I have a Little Simz video which I'll link here ruclips.net/video/FF-wZ-3tvKk/видео.html Hope you enjoy
Can you make a video about loss of passion for music? I'm trying everything to get it back but writing music just doesn't bring me to that place anymore. This has been happening for years
It’s exactly what I’ve been feeling for years, now. However, I know that deeply I have many things to say and to express. Sorry to tell you, but I’m glad to see I’m not alone 😉
Hey, I saw this comment, and have moved into producing something on this now, because I immediately can see this is an experience that I, and probably a lot of artists/creators have experienced. Thanks for getting in touch, and trust the video along these lines is loading...

Man, this song (Super Rich Kids) would make cry the first time few times I listened to it. It’s so layered and beautiful and sad, and I just had so many emotions about it. I love it!

In my opinion the best Frank Ocean song is Wiseman, its some of the best lyricism I’ve seen and is incredibly emotional.
Agreed 🧡

apparently drake thinks so too now😭 insane that frank’s music is in that stage now where it’s being sampled. just shows he makes classic material.
I agree
My favorite song is crack rock. That first verse hit!! "You don't know how little it matter untill you're all alone."

Siegfried is such an underrated song
🐐🐐🐐 the bit on perspective is dope, almost like telling a visual story like how they do in a movie or tv show
I don’t know if I’d be an artist without him
This page only gets better i love the content so much
