For me there is no question, it’s strip ALL. I have a small apartment. Do not have room for any extra. What I can’t throw down the garbage shute the maintenance man will remove. 🐎✌️
That’s awesome, I fully support anyone who chooses to strip it all. I strip just about everything except really small wire, but I’m working on using multiple paper shredders to take care of that. Thank you for watching and for leaving a comment.

Great video my friend, and a good point on knowing your yard. I am the same about being in the shop and putting tools to work. Thanks for sharing your tips.😎😎🔥🔥⛏⛏
I have one of them flaring blocks I use it to strip wire but I've always use a finishing nail clamped in front of the block in my vice but this looks way better! Thank You Brother I'm going to be using your idea from now on! CheeRs
Some wires are worth to strip and some wires are not worth to strip in my opinion buddy but in your place sound like you should strip it you will make more at your scrap yard I love tearing stuff apart to buddy! I enjoy watching your videos my friend! Neat tool buddy!
Stripping wire is one of those things that really boils down to the individual. Thank you for your support, I appreciate it. I stripped 30-40 pounds with that two years ago just sitting in my chair watching tv
I found your channel, and my joy for scrapping from volunteering at habitat for humanity. If you have the time, see if you can take your talents down to your local habitat center. They get a lot of metal good that they can’t really sell that they end up scrapping. I spent my first month taking apart light fixtures and ceiling fans for brass, copper, steel, and zinc. Now I’m taking apart door knobs for brass, which is where I discovered your channel. I’m also stripping giant lengths of wires for them so that little trick you showed is going to come in handy. Keep up the good work!
What do you do with 16+ gauge stranded wire, such as lamp wire and electronics wire. Do you sell it as #2 insulated or strip it somehow? Its too thin to burn, it melts
I have been selling it as #2 insulated wire. However, I’m working on using two paper shredders to granulate the copper. I actually have a video where I use one paper shredder and it does work, but it needs a few improvements. Thank you for your comment and watching a couple of my videos.
Nice video brother! Educational and helpful. Yeah, it’s very important to “shop around “ yards and know how to get most profit out of our hard work. When I started, I didn’t know much and probably lost a lot of $$ but after learning from you, Mike the scavenger, Thub, shark, and several other guys, I make out much better!! I get a lot of stuff others pass up too, lol. Stay blessed!!
Thank you. Same here, when I first started I knew nothing, but watching those guys on RUclips helped me so much. Thank you for watching and God bless you!
thank you for the Vid, i strip all my wire Except any small wire like Telephone Wire, if its the Hard wire, i will otherwise it got in bucket as coated wire, i have been having allot of Luck with a Potato Peeler, as a Stripper !
I’ve heard about stripping wire with a peeler, that’s pretty clever. I might just have to try that for the fun of it some day. Same with me, I strip it all except for the tiny stuff. Thank you so much for watching and leaving a comment.
If it isn't about the money, strip away. Unfortunately, I am full time, so I have to balance how long it took me to make that $.46. I have had a StripMeister for three years now and LOVE it. I see everyone going cheap and getting the Vevo brand, but it doesn't compare to the StripMeister!! Good video!
Absolutely, Roger, it would never make sense for you to strip this wire in your situation. Oh man, the StripMeister is the way to go. $140 and high quality material. I appreciate you stopping by and giving my video a watch. Hope to see a new one from you soon.
A few month ago I got a similar stripper, I hated it, I called it all the names under the sun.....but, the problem was with me not the tool, since addressing that I wouldn't get rid of it now...its paid for itself already, stay safe
Nice video I enjoyed how you did that but is it really worth striping the extension cord when I make it to the scrap yard I will definitely let everyone know
Thank you! A lot of stuff comes down to how much time we want to spend doing a particular thing. I don’t strip really small stuff because I have too much other stuff to strip apart.
I have the 250 model. Used it for about 3 years now. Still works like new. They even come with an extra blade, variable speed motor. I just sort my wire be sizes, so not a lot of adjustment per pile.
I want to get into melting myself. I’m working on a homemade granulating thing from some scrap I found. Hoping it’ll take care of small wire. Thanks for stopping by.
That’s a good price! You seem to be so busy with so much more stuff it wouldn’t make sense for you to strip wire for little profit. Thanks for stopping by and giving my video a watch.
@@scrapitall200 when I throw braided into my stripper and try to turn it in, the pay for it, for some reason, isn’t considered copper number 1 it’s 2, which is usually half the price of 1 and only 20 cents a pound more than non stripped braided wire. Maybe my scrap yard is just junk like that. Also, melted down copper pipe is copper 1 which is the highest pay out for copper meanwhile copper piping is considered blow by copper and is only 1/4 of copper one, so I melt copper pipes now too.
