Zathaghil I doubt that they're the only two DA2 representatives. I'm sure many DA2 characters will still be around. I mean, Merril was already creating a portal to the demon world, so it's pretty safe to bet the inquisition will be chatting with her. And if you sided with the mages, (which the majority did) Sebastion said that he would return with an army. So in short, wether or not it was a good game in itself, DA2 was still very important to the story. I'm sure we'll see a lot of ramifacations from that game.
Tyler Dennis Sebastian actually says that when you don't want to kill Anders, because people like him is why mages are dangerous, if you kill Anders, he doesn't care who you side with.

Bioware really is on the rebound in this game. From all the Q&As to the twitch streams they did and many other interviews there trying there best to fix past mistakes. I mean all this info and information were never present in past games. I think they used the year and month delay to put so much more into the game. I believe it will be a very very good game! :D
John Smith that's Blackwall.Also,when we first saw Hawke in a trailer he was with a Warden,and I think that was the Warden-Commander from Awakening,as in Bioware's canon the Hero of Ferelden sacrificed himself to kill the Archdemon.Ergo,if in your playthrough the Hero of Fereldan died,then you meet the Warden-Commander,but if he lives then you meet him.

Having just finished a DA2 play through, they were pretty much central to the mage/templar war happening in the first place. Remove them, and it may have happened. Or not at all, or much further in the future then it is now in the game world.

Not saying he was useless, the game's story resolves around Hawke's POV during and after the Blight in Kirkwall, but everytime a a major problem arised, he was always unable to prevent it. In some cases, he could also worsen the situation. Take a look at Petrice's attempt to instigate a war between Kirkwall and the Qunaris. No matter which side you chose to be with or any measure you tried to take so to prevent violence, there was going to be a war nonetheless. It's not a bad thing from a writer's point of view that he's always powerless to prevent major things like that. It builds the character. Hawke's story's pretty much about how, even if he tries his hardest to save what matters, he's going to fail regardless. Kind of reminds me of some Greek myths where the heroes are to fail because fate's against them. It's how I'm seeing it so far. Not saying I'm right, not saying you're wrong either, but after multiples playthrough, that's how things looked from my perspective.
Oh for the love of God does it have to be "pick mages or templars" again?! With the breach are we not at the point where we can get over that now, or just remain neutral
They mentioned at some point that the mage/templar thing was quite an early plotline in this game, so it's not the main point, just something along the way.
Im getting that feeling again that there is going to be so much stuff to do, which is good. I am currently playing Origins for the millionth time, and i am still finding new things (mainly easter eggs). Its like KOTOR 2; I have been playing that since I was 10 and I am STILL finding new stuff to do on it.

Could that be Briala though?? Also.... Solas was wearing Grey Warden armor. We saw a trailer with a bald person getting eaten by a dragon... I reasoned it wasn't him because he isn't a warden/we can't get the armor.... Suspicious. So excited!

Greg Sabin No their name, gender, class and a 2d avatar get imported. Appearance won't be used. They've said it in quite a few of their livestreams for the Keep.
The Keep does not import appearances but Mike Laidlaw said: "@Mike_Laidlaw IF we were going to have one of your previous characters appear, we would absolutely give you a chance to change his or her look.". Best guess is the DAI character creator is used during the plot to recreate your Hawke.

Usually, companions are required to be present for them to approve/disapprove, meaning if you don't bring the people who don't like you into the world, they won't have that many chances to disapprove and thus won't leave. Keeping all your companions hasn't been problematic in the previous games.
Dragon age needs to be made into a movie. It's awesome. Its universe is a combination of Xmen (with the mages and stuff) and LOTR. It has such a great universe.

Dylan B They don't have pitch control, but Jon Curry, the American voiced Inquisitor actor has a deeper voice, which lore-wise defaults to the Qunari and Dwarf Inquisitors. Harry Hadden-Paton, the British voiced inquisitor actor has a lighter voice as heard in this video and defaults to human and elven Inquisitors. But regardless of that, you can choice either any time. Same principles apply to the two female voice actors.
Dylan B Out of curiosity: Do you know any games were the voice pitch is adjustable and the changes don't make the voice sound super weird? I've only ever seen this feature in Saints Row 3+4, but changing the pitch of your voice always made it sound horribly robotic.

This game is like a drug, the more I come into contact with it, the more addicted I become. this is going to be the longest 2 weeks of my life. what I'm also looking forward to is possibly meeting new characters to get to know, especially ones from the novels (Rys, Fyona and Empress Celene). I also have this dream about the ending of the game, the Inquisition overthrows the Chantry and becomes the ruling force of Theodus.

I'm skeptical. I'd hate this to be another me3 when all your choices boil down to u dying. I'm going to wait till someone finishes the game before deciding.
I don't think so.I heard that you can put some kind of points into the mark of the Inquisitor,the thing-y he/she uses to close rifts,and if you don't put enough then you die for some reason at the end,but this is only a rumour.We may get totally different endings,like in DAO where you could live or die at the end.
I really hope you can make your voice deeper as a qunari. That voice simply wouldn't sound right on a qunari. xD
There are two male voice options, and yes there is a deeper option.

Dylan B They don't have pitch control, but Jon Curry, the American voiced Inquisitor actor has a deeper voice, which lore-wise defaults to the Qunari and Dwarf Inquisitors. Harry Hadden-Paton, the British voiced inquisitor actor has a lighter voice as heard in this video and defaults to human and elven Inquisitors. But regardless of that, you can choice either any time. Same principles apply to the two female voice actors.

Dylan B Out of curiosity: Do you know any games were the voice pitch is adjustable and the changes don't make the voice sound super weird? I've only ever seen this feature in Saints Row 3+4, but changing the pitch of your voice always made it sound horribly robotic.
This raised my hype level again, somewhat.
So which ending to chose...Blue Red or Green?
I can't stop laughing that Bioware still pretends that the choices "matter" in anyway in their games.
Its all about corny edgy dialogues, buttonmashy combat focus, lack of RPG elements and checkbox romances(complete with sappy hollywood sex scenes) now.
I am so relieved that Pillars of Eternity won't have romance options and actually spent time to focus on things that matter - stats, rtwp gameplay, tactical combat ant the lore.
The great thing about BioWare is that they learn from their mistakes, the choices will matter this time.

They sure learned from DAII...ME2...TORcraft...ME3(where in the advertisements they even CLAIMED to have listened to fanbase)...Oh wait I guess they DO NOT learn.
If the only thing they got from DA2 backslash is some silly idea that their fanbase wants Dragon Age to be an action buttonmasher then I really question their comprehension skills.
FeuerFremder They realized that people want more tactical combat,like in Origins,and they delivered.This game has been in development even before DA2 came out and was supposed to be Dragon Age 2,but EA pushed them to release the one we got.Wait,play the game and then comment about the choices not effecting the ending.
If you don't like it don't play it. Simple as that. Some of us are really excited for this game. So go complain somewhere else.

This game is like a drug, the more I come into contact with it, the more addicted I become. this is going to be the longest 2 weeks of my life. what I'm also looking forward to is possibly meeting new characters to get to know, especially ones from the novels (Rys, Fyona and Empress Celene).
I also have this dream about the ending of the game, the Inquisition overthrows the Chantry and becomes the ruling force of Theodus.
