Wanted the ultra as well but I used my friends 15 pro and loved the size. So I got the base s25 and damn I love it. Wish they make a smaller ultra.

You're comparing the base S25 model to a pro or pro max version of the iphone and saying the iphone got better photos and videos compared to the S25 ? I think this isn't a fair comparison. Also 1080p on a phone with this battery size is logical, increasing the resolution will drain the battery faster and again you're getting a 120Hz display when the iphone 16 is still capped at 60Hz for some reason. That's why the plus and ultra models have the QHD option because their batteries can handle it.

The problem this days is that almost all tech reviewers are using iphones ,so any feature that is different from iPhone to them is a set back on these phones. no wonder why tech reviews are not interesting for other brands expectations on apple

Naah, tech reviewers are either used an iPhone or Galaxy... not until you only watch US base tech reviewers.
@reziee5897 Cause tech curiosity in the states has been on the rapid decline since iPhone released. 1 out of 20 people who buy new phones really reads and is curious about what their phone is capable of, what they're highly concerned about is Social Media compatibility specially Pictures & Videos uploads, Battery life, and brand name. I mean seriously how many people in the states actually care about searching what their phone is capable of doing? One thing EVERY phone reviewer on the planet keeps on droning on about is the CAMERA, that in of itself should tell you what the state of the majority of the userbase priority is lmao, what their main concern is a point & shoot then upload to their socials, every other feature is an afterthought.
@reziee5897 exactly my point ,then when checking out other phones regardless on how great they are you hear a person saying imessage, facetime or others related to galaxy , even tho the are many things that are better

@nishantpardeshi3926 Mine gives me upto 14hrs of screen on time- I charge it to 85% in the morning and atleast 30mins of 4k60 recording a day as well- it lasts till about 10pm when it gets to 10%

Tbh I think 1080p is fine on a phone this size. Sure, I wouldn't complain if they increased it, but I think in most usr cases you wouldn't notice the difference. For example, when I watch videos on my phone, they look pretty much the same, even at 720p.
Its better for battery life and really not noticable in that size.
Additionaly, processor will perform better over time.
That resolution is fine in that size.

The jump is massive specialy with 120hz display and size. Boy it's super hard to find a comfy phone size these days

Just got S25 Plus, I had LG V60 thin q which I loved (almost got OnePlus 13 but Chinese spyware was worrysome!) S25 Plus is a beast! Already upgraded to One UI 8 Beta and Android 16. The only thing I regret is that after upgrade the Good Lock "Home Up" is incompatible with system upgrade and not working yet but Samsung says they're working on it. Luckily I tweaked a couple things before I upgraded phone and they're working fine. Will be worth the wait as customization on this
phone is amazing, I can not put it down. Loving it! Also so so happy I did not make the move to iPhone, as my wife and 3 daughters are in that "I" cult, they all said " We can FaceTime and track eachother" I thought about it for half a second and said NO iPhone for me "What's App me, better than FaceTime anyways!" So so so happy I did not make that switch! ANDROID AND SAMSUNG RULE!

I used this for 4 months and I can say yes this phone is really nice. It is very comfortable to use with its compact size it feels great in hand. The cameras are average. The chipset is powerful for gameplay and dialy use. Now iam using s25 ultra and I really miss the compact size of s25.
Thank you for an actual good review because Ive always loved samsung but my fams a iphone family. But the S25 looks good and does the things I'll need it to do which is good enough for me.
Thinking of picking up the S25 this August

It's a solid phone. I have the S25 plus but i wanted a smalled form factor. Call me crazy but i think i am turning in my plus model for a regular s25. My concern was battery life. If this dude gets 6 hours im in. I could sacrifice the hour of SOT for a smaller phone. 6 hours is solid.

Just wait till Samsung adapts Si/C battery tech. What I recommend though is that you use two phones, previous flagships are preferred. Android and iOS, can't go wrong. IP13 Pro Max was the last greatest leap, S23 Ultra for Android.
I did the same thing... Exchanged the S25 Plus for the S25... I realized I'm tired of larger phones.

Using S25 for 3 months now and the phone is great. Super smooth gaming, no heating issues and software, one ui is so damn good.
Talking about cameras, video quality is top notch and I never had the ISO inconsistency like mentioned in the video and tried comparing with iphone 16, both were equally good in video. Photos also came really well, tried comparing with oneplus 13 and xiaomi 15 and S25 pics came better. Low light it struggles a bit but sometimes it nails perfect shots too. But i suggest use the "expert raw" app for taking pictures in jpeg only mode which gives even better output than native camera app. So overall its a really good phone.
What about the battery? How much sot do you get?
@priyam3361Bro, if you do the "right settings" you easily get good SOT and phone will easily last a day. In One UI 7 i was getting 7 to 8 hrs SOT which even went 9.5hrs in normal usage and heavy usage gives around 6 to 6.5 hrs(including full day 5G on, 2 hours gaming,video rendering, camera,etc).
Currently iam on OneUI 8 beta and i can say battery life got slight improvement. More than SOT the standby draining got really improved and 2 days back i even got 11 hrs(1st time) SOT in normal use. But more accurately saying, I would say its giving 30mins to 1 hour more in this new beta update than what I got in One UI 7.
Also mentioning phone will adapt and give more battery based on usage pattern after an update.
S25 is amazing but I have to admit that video in low light while zooming has much more grain than iPhone 16 Pro. iPhones when it comes to video are way better.
@Wyjadaczogorkow if you really want to zoom at low light i would say turn on auto fps which will give less grainy and brighter footage but lower framerate. 16PM has a lidar sensor which really helps it in low light. But day light both are neck to neck in terms of quality. Samsung has really matched iphone with video quality the only stuff they need to improve is sometimes the iso goes really dark that needs to be fixed. I would say bringing up a larger sensor could fix the noise issues hope they would put new sensors in s26 series.
@amrcutzz Yeee but I had 15 Pro Max and now I switched back to Samsung because after 10 months of iOS I didn't like it but I had a comparison so really low light video on Samsung is really bad compared to iPhone :(

For me 1080p is absolutely fine! I would not even use the full resolution if this phone would come with 1440p because the battery drain and performance impact to me are way more noticeable than the higher resolution.
Very good phone but the OneUI 8 beta is making it overheat badly. Hopefully they fix it soon.

The biggest flaw with the camera app on samsung phones is that it runs on like 24hz and its the worst thing abojt the camera system by far because it makes the phone feel slow and low quality and also the preview shows a really bad example of the shots

Im going from S21 to the S25, because my battery on the S21 JUST started to die faster. So if your worried that the battery on these newer models wont last 4 months your doing something wrong with charging or batteries have gotten significantly worse. Anyway when you said 0 - 100 is 70 minutes and that, that isnt the best my jaw dropped because it takes 90 minutes to charge 50 - 100 on the S21 lmao
