I get why they are experimenting with different looks. I find the classic house warmer jars charming but I’m in the vast minority among people I know. Here in Los Angeles, folks homes are all more modern and they want something minimalist, with little to no labels. This is why I think all Yankee’s new labels (signature ect) can easily be peeled off and removed. Again, not my personal opinion… just what I’ve noticed. The perception seems to be that BBW is for middle aged women and Yankee is for boomers, so I think you’re right that Yankee is trying to chase after the relatively untapped metro-millennial market (Ala P.F.Candle based out of LA.)
So… I’m going to play the other side since really no one has… I love Yankee Candles and have 2 cabinets full so I’m quite experienced with the brand. I actually love these and couldn’t wait for the release! I’m almost 37 so I think I technically squeeze in the millennial age group but I’m not really the age most people are talking about when referencing millennials lol. I like the unique shape and especially the colored glass. I’m the type to reuse containers when possible and I basically got these for the glass and less the candles. Seems like they are mostly spring scents which is my least favorite time of year for fragrance. I think these fit more of a minimalist or modern look and agree that the fans of more traditional styles might not enjoy them as much. I can see them as cute planters, I plan to put some small fake plants in mine, or for bathroom or desk storage. I have an artsy flair so I tend to like things on the outer edge of normal but I’m surprised so many people don’t like these. I was hoping they’d continue the line into some darker and holiday colors and scents. I will say for performance they do take a while, like at least 5 hours of straight burning to get an even wax pool and by then the wick is a bit out of control and the flame does get big and smokey so you know, not the greatest from a strictly candle perspective. Just wanted to chime in though because I like the reuse factor of these and that they are a bit different, some of us like them!
Will you be doing the Yankee Well Living review? Harvest Walk was my favorite in the Elevation line and I'm dying to know if they rebranded/renamed it in their Well Living line.
Seems to me like a marketing gimmick, more shrinkflation, and outsourced manufacturing with less quality controls. More than likely much greater profit margins, but only if there is actual demand.
I wish they would focus on making GREAT fragrances, which is what they do have the ability to do. Give customers what they really want, beautiful and home filling home fragrance from a candle. Why they feel they need new jar styles every time I turn around, I don’t get it.
I will never buy that collection. I just don't care for the size. Bed, Bath, and Beyond has half of the Well-Living Collection and I bought Hinoki & Juniper, Sandalwood & Rose, Vanilla & Honey, and Lotus Blossom & Aloe. They do have a good smell on cold. I'll burn the first one mentioned for Christmas. One of the last candles before that I bought was Nature's Wick Pomegranate Woods and it threw well for a ten-ounce candle. I have Woodwick's Hot Toddy and Yankee's Lavender Beach burning now. Happy candle buying and trying!
Have you gotten a chance to try the signature scent called Tranquil Garden? I just saw it in the store today and now online. I'd trade 5 of them for just one Pumpkin Banana Scone which always seems to fly off the shelves *when in stock*. 🥴
When the signature line came out, I actually didn’t mind the aesthetic. It also kind of made a little sense to me. Since so many people do (or did) copy the classic Yankee jar look, I thought maybe they wanted something to make them stand out again. That being said, I don’t understand these “Studio” candles at all. I’m not sure about modern, but they are very generic looking (to me at least). It seems like many of the creative minds these days have gone AWOL.
You certainly know fragrance. I’d even call you a fragrance expert. But you don’t know much about design or decor. The label is a sticker so that people can peel it off. I wouldn’t have bought this candle if the label didn’t peel off. Labels can be tacky, cluttered, and distracting. The design of this glass jar is clean, modern, and sleek. A label ruins the look of the design of this jar. So the labels are meant to be peeled off for a clean modern look. In my opinion Yankee’s original jars are dated, tacky, and country bumpkin. I would NEVER EVER put one of those jars in my home. It’s why I had never purchased a Yankee Candle in the past. Recently I discovered Yankee’s signature large tumblers. So now I’m buying Yankee candles. And I’m buying Kringle candles, too. PS I peel the labels off Yankee’s large tumblers and Kringle’s candles. PPS When you repurpose a jar you don’t want the label of what used to be in it. You want a clean jar with no label.
They kind of just remind me of the cheap glade candle designs. I wouldn't buy those. I like my traditional yankee candle Jars and tumblers personally. Maybe they're trying to "save" money since inflation is so bad right now. Who knows what they're thinking. 🤷♀️
I'm with you! I wish they would just focus on what we all love and make it the best it can be!
I need tops on my candles, saw these in YC store..the glass seems so thin, thanks for your review
Chesapeake Bay candles are made in Vietnam as well…hmmm. I will stick to Kringle and Village lol 😂

It kinda looks like a Febreeze candle.

I agree and hear ya, but personally think it is all about shrinkflation at this point.

Yes I’ll be reviewing it soon. I’ve been burning it and it’s great!
@@PhillyCandleMan Good to know, thanks!
Ya still looks cheap to me. I've been done with yankee for a long time and these new releases are not tempting me to come back....

Looks like a dollar store candle......
Yall stop blaming millennials for everything 🤣 that is not appealing to us! 💕 this packaging is giving very dollar store
Yes definitely! I remember getting $1 candles looking like that from the dollar store like 20 years ago.
It's sad to see how far Yankee has fallen. Thankfully Kringle is still around. I just think of them as the "real" Yankee.
We want scent throw not new junk jars!!!
