      When the transmitter is being used while plugged in is it constantly draining and recharging the battery or is it running off external power only?

      How fully filled is fully filled for the receiver? All the way, even to the tiny spot left? All green and no non green space left on the battery icon?

      I confirm that is my experience. The Rx shows a solid blue light when fully charged - which I had already observed - and the Tx switches to showing a green battery symbol, full up to the button, and without the lightning flash, at least as it reaches full charge. This is with both switched off. This behaviour of the receiver I had not noticed before, but just today I was checking because my receiver has become slow to charge fully and I was watching it.

  • @stevecookphotography

    At 3:50 in the video, you can see on the transmitter that it has a battery level indicator for both the transmitter and receiver. Also, when charging other devices, lights usually stay on (versus blinking) to show that they are charged but it does not mean that it is still being charged. Nikon and Canon camera batteries both do this.

    I also found out that if you charge on a PC or laptop when you plugged it in it makes a sound like windows is letting you know that it is plugged in as a device and when it is fully charged, it makes a sound like when you unplugged a recognized device and disconnected it. So if the blue light becomes solid fails you, the sound would be your sign it is charged.
    And I think it won't overcharge since that sound indicates it is not comnected anymore hence it has stopped from letting currents in.

    The Wireless Go uses a lithium battery so it would be incredibly dumb for the guys at RØDE to have it charge the battery continuously. I've had my USB charge monitor on it and when it's charging it is putting about 130 mAh into the battery and at the end it's putting about 10 mAh into the device, which is probably just enough to power the circuit that monitors the battery and flashes the LED. I think we're all good. There would be a LOT of complaints if they did indeed trickle-charge these batteries because they would fail quickly.

      Hi Sergio,
      Thanks for getting in touch, you won't have an issue with the battery overheating if you charge it for longer than 2 hours. It usually takes around 2 hours to fully charge the battery from empty, however, once the battery is fully charged it won't continue to charge so there is no way to overcharge the battery.
      The LED on the TX will stay solid blue once it is fully charged, this is completely normal and how the unit is supposed to function.

    Hello! Thank you for this video, I just got mine a week ago and noticed the same thing! So i gather the only way for us to know it is charged is to check the green battery on the receiver screen?! In which case i should just unplug the charger after 2 hours because it should be done? (i charged it for 20 mins and checked, the battery was green first and then very quickly went to red lol like an old phone battery indicator ) so clearly it needs atleast 2 hours?

      Aditi Chengappa hello there hope you are well and thanks for watching, yes that is absolutely right but also for the transmitter you can wait till the blinking blue light goes solid then unplug. I am still worried if it overcharges battery but even since I made this video I have had no problems although I just charge like for an hour then put them away. :-)

      @@TheOtherPhotoGuy OKay i seem to be having a completely different issue, looks like the TX is not even holding charge! I charged mine for 2 and a half hours, receiver is just fine, the mic batter indicator is already showing battery red after 2 mins of turning it on! Safe to say i should get a replacement ?! lol

      Oh gosh, that does not sound good at all, does the transmitter light blink when plugged in to charge? That does sound like an issue especially if it won’t hold the charge... so annoying for you but hopefully you can get it sorted!

      Oh gosh you should both email info@rode.com quickly and also let them know the FL and FM numbers on the units.

      @TheOtherPhotoGuy  3 года назад

      Hey there, my TX holds charge almost indefinitely, it has always had charge when I turn it back on... sometimes it might have depleted a bit if I leave it for a few weeks...

      I sometimes wish I could drop a bunch more cash on some high quality audio kit but for the consumer level price of the RODE wireless go’s they have been pretty good.
