Hey Greg, great video!!! As always. Maybe one should consider between flats and mountains. In the flats, the wind is your friend. In the mountains, when you get into a Lee at 15kmh for some, this might already be challenging. Especially if there are natural obstacles channelling the Wind. I did my first 100k flight in the mountains with nearly 0 wind @ 3000m, but such days are rare.
Paragliding Is easy, everybody can do it. When somebody always tell me where the next thermal is i can do 100km, even more. But here Is the magic, nobody tell it for sure, so after all I can do just around 60km return 😁
Was that location north of DuToits Kloof Pass on the way to Bains Kloof Pass? Hard to ID with the distortion of the Insta 360.

Great video. Thank you for sharing. Now I learnt
When thermalling is it better to use rear riser steering (If you have them) or brakes?
brakes (if you're on a 2 liner might be different but you would not ask here)
Hello! Is posible fly in the thermals in the sea? I said like creating thermals in the surface to the sea.
As learnt that flat turn is the effective one in the thermal and banking hardly is the bad.
Turn on 3 means turning after 3 seconds?
If your vario start beeping you fly 3 secs straight and after you start your circle for thermalling
after 2 seconds.
I guess that might be different given the context (england vs south africa or the alps)

The hardest part is finding the lift in the first place :)
Much much easier to do 100 km in the mountains compared to the South Downs.
