In my opinion, Tekken 6 has the best customization EVER. You can wear shoes with several pants and shorts, you can wear gloves with any shirt or blouse. Lili, for example, had 7 unique hair types just for her. I miss her gothic hair. Tekken 6 has amazing stages. My favorites are: City after dark, gargoyle's perch, fallen colony, manji valley, electric fountain, anger of the earth. Tekken 4 has the best stages ever in my opinion, but Tekken 6 comes next. 1st: Tekken 4 2nd: Tekken 6 3rd: Tekken 5DR 4th: Tekken 5
Offline content was good in that game, ienjoyed it really, playing the campain,then some ghost battles, then going around time attack and survival along the lovely Money Battle in which each punch earns your golds/money to spend on a very VERY RICH CUSTOMIZATION CONTENT AND UNIQUE COSTUMES FOR EACH CHARACTERS sorry but T6 had some of the best stuff , T7 IS ONE OF THE WORST EVER, it's a game that has been conceived mainly to play online, even the Character's arcade story where much better than T7
And T7 doesn't have even that, the lack of Ghost battle in T7 is a bummer for me, I don't like to play multiplayer too much, also treasure battle is just too easy.
My favorite Tekken game till this date. Best roster, best offline content, best customization, best character select theme. Many say that 5 it's where modern Tekken it's based on, but i kind of desagree, the speed, the animations, the juggles, the wall combos, the movesets, all that was redone in 6 and it's how it feels today, i place 5 just in between and old school and modern Tekken.

When you were talking about "shadows" I think you were meaning to talk about shading and smoothing groups. On a 3D model, which is constructed out of polygons (a polygon being constructed with two or more triangles), the simulation of light across the surface is typically calculated across the surface per-pixel with a smooth shading method, like Gouraud or Phong shading. This can really help give the appearance of a smooth, curved surface on an object, rather than something with sharp edges. Smoothing groups let an artist control exactly where smooth or flat shading should occur on which polygons. It sounds like the developers didn't quite have a handle on their smoothing groups for the models. This can actually be a more common occurrence than you think though, as a random example I've noticed a ton of models in Bloodborne lacking any sort of proper smoothing groups applied to them whatsoever. However, this usually applies to small environmental model details that most people aren't going to notice. Big attention grabbing models like character models are where the issues can really be noticed by most.
I have to defend Tekken 6 a bit, there is a lot of misconceptions. Tekken 6 did run in 720p on Xbox 360 if you disable the motion blur, or better AA on PS3. The image quality is improved a lot this way. The graphics were quite amazing for their time, better than DOA4 or VF5, with the improved speed it was the better engine as Tekken animations were always superior between the 3. Alisa's moves were quite impressive for the time, it easy to take everything for granted but I couldnt believe that this was possible in a 3D fighting game back then, they use her animation to this day and they still hold up. And i disagree about single player content, T6 by far has the best Force Mode. Because unlike previous games its well implemented into the core game with a coop online mode, and the customization items giving better stats like in an RPG game. Unlike in T7 everyone got a proper ending with a pre-rendered cutscene in Arcade mode (except Lars and Alisa). The story of Arcade runs and Campaign mode are maybe only bad for you as a Kazuya player, but for example Armor King and Marduk had a cool plot twist where you had to play with each in Arcade mode to know what happened. Eddies ending was pretty good too, and so was campaign mode for Alisa and Lars (couldnt ask more for a Tekken Force mode). And above all the AI isnt brainddead as in TT2, and got worse in T7. In fact Tekken 6 is some of the hardest Tekken games, you can still challenge yourself in Ultra Hard. And Azel and Nacy are a ''huge'' bonus in Aracde mode which makes the game stand out from all the other Tekken games. The rage arts dont ad anything in Tekken 7 they just slower down the pace of the game. Both Rage's of T6 and T7 are exactly the same, they do more damage, T7 just added in Rage Art/Drive who give you the choice in giving up your Rage for a super attack, thats all. Tekken 6 is by far the best Tekken game in my opinion, it still holds up and the engine feels modern running at the same speed like Tekken 7, but unlike the later its a complete package for both online and offline play.

Though, DOA4 and VF5 came out 3 years earlier than Tekken 6. DOA4 and VF5 has one of the best graphics during 2005-2006, especially VF5 with its textures. Both games had amazing stages, too. I think TTT2's AI was pretty good. When you fight Byakko ghost characters or a rank above that, they block lows, punish, and juggle like a human Tekken player.
That scenario campaign was the best for it's gameplay. The other force modes didn't have the variety or multiplayer that T6's had. The single player content was one of the best.
I was a scrubs back then on T6. But I don't remember of having any hitbox and pushback inconsistencies such as in T7. So in term of game engine, T6 is superior IMO.

Rage in this game was insanely broken for anyone who doesn't know. MainMan just briefly mentioned "hopkick combos can do 1 million damage in rage" but just to give some more detail- every character in the game had one or more death combos while in rage. Bryan and Law were particularly disgusting, being able to do 100-0 death combos with no floorbreak or wallbreak.

Ahh T6, It will always be fondly remembered by myself as the game where I finally began to learn. Alongside my frustrations with trying to play offline seeing as how most people played PS3 and I played on Xbox 360. To this day the Xbox 360 version is the superior version of this game yet few people embraced it. Though to be fair I'd probably also have been among the PS3 crowd too if I had money to afford it back then, hearing the release of an upcoming T6 when I thought the franchise had long died out was one of the key factors why I even got an Xbox 360 aside from it being the affordable option xD. If it wasn't for T6 I'd never have gotten into it as much as I did or have met the friends I have, that's also obviously including you TMM as one of my biggest influences to playing Mishimas and wanting to 'I'm totally learning to do these combos and then do in actual matches.' If I remember correctly I even messaged you long ago asking for confirmation on a vid if I had indeed landed a 5 EWGF combo.....ahhh good times. I feel old xD

Damage nerfing's not a bad thing, just play through Tekken 1 as Heihachi until you hit Ganryu, Ganryu's pretty much the only character with a fast hitting move for when the opponent is on tbe ground and it does 80% damage I think? And he had a massive combo which, if you let the whole thing hit you, I'm pretty sure it would kill you.
The first Tekken game to be on HD on consoles was Tekken 5 DR, around 1080p. Tekken 6's resolution was a lot lower because of its more demanding engine, being 1024 x 576 on consoles. The arcade version was 1024 x 768. The Xbox 360 version was 1366 x 768 when you turn off the motion blur.
On Xbox 360 it ran better 720p 60 fps and to me this is the best tekken game scenario campaign was fun customization was awesome and around 2011 to 2012 the online on Xbox Live was just much better
Scenario campaign was the best force mode, it had the variety and multiplayer the others lacked which made them much more repetitive. That and the customization made the single player content really good. Story is something you see once and it's over so imo not as big a deal unless it's as in depth as T4's.
I remember having PS2 and shitty PC back in days. When I had to choose between new PC and PS3, I chose the former because I was heavily invested in Counter-Strike (still do this day with CS:GO), Battlefield 2 and other competitive PC titles. While I would've still chose the same thing, It's shame that I missed Tekken 6 timeline completely.
Loved the character models and color pallets plus the hit explosions, animations, and lighting....but had they made the and side stepping gameplay to be tekken 5/DR it would had been Namco's s crowing achievement. Also more stages and better music.

I had the game on something called the PSGO, that small handheld really didn't last long and I barely played it, but surprisingly the graphics on PSP weren't that different from the Console version.
On ps3 if you disable motion blur you get antialiasing. Select the balcony stage, the one with the planes flying and look at the balcony when you put the motion blur off
I believe it was an old comment on a Tekken Crash vid, but pretty soon after Tekken 6 which was red hot, League of Legends began to take over... and Tekken went into the shadows until T7 dropped on consoles and brought the series back into the limelight.

The thing that i see nobody understands with t6 is that,its NOT the graphics that are the problem,its the lack of AA that makes everything look jaggy.graphics are awesome even if they are 576p upscaled.
Also top Tier Handheld Tekken. Got ported Perfectly onto the PSP and i stil play it on PS VITA on the go :D looks pretty great on an 2004 Handheld tbh. Oh and first Tekken for an Xbox... was pretty uncool if Tekken is one of your fav. Game Series but you stick with Xbox because of other games you where more invested in :D But with T6 and TTT2 got deeper into it and T7 thankfully also on PC.

Namco trying so hard to push Lars making him strong as all fucking hell in T6 and making the story pretty much say fuck everything that happened in Tekken 5 and before and make it all about him made T6 the most disappointing Tekken in eyes. For me i liked tekken 5 the most just becoz i can sidestep easy. Hated tekken 6 bcoz the sidestep was nerfed from tekken 5, but loved tekken 7 bcoz i got used to it(sidestep nerf). Never played tekken 4 (didnt even know it existed, went from tekken 3 to 5), played 5dr only on psp(1player only offline), didnt play tag2 bcoz even tekken 6 was annoying just due to bound (combos were too long) and tag 2 had even longer combos! I loved tekken 3 but i couldnt play it(at the time) as i was too young and the older guys never teach me how to play so i usually watch them in arcades.

I had the game on something called the PSGO, that small handheld really didn't last long and I barely played it, but surprisingly the graphics on PSP weren't that different from the Console version.

On ps3 if you disable motion blur you get antialiasing. Select the balcony stage, the one with the planes flying and look at the balcony when you put the motion blur off
Tekken 6 had the best customization. 7 is so lackluster. I would've spent moore hours on Tekken 7 if it had so much stuff like 6 had.
I believe it was an old comment on a Tekken Crash vid, but pretty soon after Tekken 6 which was red hot, League of Legends began to take over... and Tekken went into the shadows until T7 dropped on consoles and brought the series back into the limelight.
This game is sooo much better and fun than that trash that ttt2 was.

The thing that i see nobody understands with t6 is that,its NOT the graphics that are the problem,its the lack of AA that makes everything look jaggy.graphics are awesome even if they are 576p upscaled.
I hope bring back the Tekken 6 level of character customization in the next game.

Also top Tier Handheld Tekken. Got ported Perfectly onto the PSP and i stil play it on PS VITA on the go :D looks pretty great on an 2004 Handheld tbh. Oh and first Tekken for an Xbox... was pretty uncool if Tekken is one of your fav. Game Series but you stick with Xbox because of other games you where more invested in :D But with T6 and TTT2 got deeper into it and T7 thankfully also on PC.

It was also 570p on 360 iirc. Consoles at the time couldn't handle it very well.

Namco trying so hard to push Lars making him strong as all fucking hell in T6 and making the story pretty much say fuck everything that happened in Tekken 5 and before and make it all about him made T6 the most disappointing Tekken in eyes. Tekken Tag 2 was the revival even though a lot of people hated it for the gameplay

Jinpachi was worse for me (fireball spam), Azazel was easy once I got the timing down.

For me i liked tekken 5 the most just becoz i can sidestep easy. Hated tekken 6 bcoz the sidestep was nerfed from tekken 5, but loved tekken 7 bcoz i got used to it(sidestep nerf). Never played tekken 4 (didnt even know it existed, went from tekken 3 to 5), played 5dr only on psp(1player only offline), didnt play tag2 bcoz even tekken 6 was annoying just due to bound (combos were too long) and tag 2 had even longer combos! I loved tekken 3 but i couldnt play it(at the time) as i was too young and the older guys never teach me how to play so i usually watch them in arcades.
