ik this aint really the video for it but Kenny touched on the point about how the players are marketed as being more important than the cubs themselves and that's always been so wild to me as an NBA fan from the UK. To me all that results in is what u see today where there's loads of ppl who the NBA would consider 'fans' that almost certainly will just stop watching when LeBron retires for example, bc they dont rlly love the sport but the individual

So far we have not seen his Post Game, but his euro-step fundamentals to easy dunk with his range is unseen. So far his 3 is meh (was in his league for example), but if he can create 'threat' on the perimeter his whole game can move forward especially with his good mid-range game and his easy little liftoff for lobs, passes, short roll (which in previous game where he ran the short roll into a lob he himself did!). The little liftoffs/jumps for dunks will increase his health on his legs too, with his height let alone the wingspan sheesh.

The thing I see with him is that he still plays like a kid. As he should at his age. Still has that creativity and is still learning the game at the pro level. He hasn’t found his niche yet. Is he gonna be a jump shooter only or is his post game gonna develop? Is he gonna play more off the ball? I don’t like the ball handling and trying to create at his own shot at his height which leads to a lot of those swipe turnovers we’ve seen with him by smaller guys. At the same kd of the day, the guard skills aren’t a necessity they are add on. He still needs to learn to play like a big man and master those skills first. When those jumpers aren’t falling and everything breaks down, what is his go to? That comes with time, and experience. Can’t wait to see how he develops.

Literally just watch every starting 7-9 and find who are the most likely to maybe just put their feet under a player when they land from a jump shot, or might push a player when they jump. And just actively avoid them unless he needs to. I honestly think the hype between him and Zion was pretty similar but not to take away from your point at all cuz you’re still right I j think we are having a lil recency bias and forgetting about how insane the Zion hype was

People forgot that Wemby was MVP, top scorer/rebound/block on the first division of basketball french’s league, he was ready for the league even before his draft. Obviously he is not gonna a top 10 in the league first years but i think his maturity is a big advantage next to other college players.

From the poetic game style of Jordan, Kobe, Iverson, Carter and many more to this weird Jurassic Park kind of play, the game every year is becoming constantly uglier. Despite the statistics the Wembanyama and Jokic kind of play may be number sufficient but horrible to watch and enjoy.

    Wemby is already something !
PS : he is not a Center and not even a Power Forward sorry brother, i look him fopr last 4 years (I'm french) he is more like an "small forward" who is not small.

I think the fair expectation for wemby should be he should be a leading man/ or in a 1a/1b type of role for a championship team, as well as be a multi-time all-star/all-nba. DOES NOT necessarily have to be immediately done now or in the next three yrs, but throughout his career is the span. What we see more is potential for wemby if he grows, get stronger, adapts to the NBA, and gets rid of his "easy exhaustion" deficiency. If so, sky is the limit for him. We expect him to get better, not stay the same, or stay mid, cuz that's not what hyped #1 picks are expected to do. But the bar is higher for him, and should be just below Lebron's expectations of being at least a multi-time champion/perrenial all-nba, all-star, etc. Being just at least a one-time champion as either a first or second option should be the fair expectation of him, given that the league is mainly guard-driven. In other words, just pass embiid's success in the postseason and acc make the finals, and we can truly say he has at least lived up to the hype.

It’s just only so much you can do to stop him ! He still 7’4 and an score on 3 levels. They lucky he doesn’t have any allstars around him so they can trap him and double him maybe, but even still he’s going to Average a cool 17/8/4/3

Spurs could honestly be real tough. Dont forget they have Popovich. He was the coach of the Big Fundamental. Wemby will get all the right tools and could honest reach Wilt Chamberlain-esque dominance.

This dude moves like Jordan... which is crazy to say cause he's 7 foot 5 ..but he moves just like Jordan both on defense and offense ...everything just looks easy for him.. I dont remember anyone else doing that since Jordan. Where every time they touch the ball its going in the hoop and he getting every improtant defensive stop.

I still think there’s a chance to be a bust, it’s just how many times have we seen a “unicorn” 7 footer that can score like a guard and still dominate the paint while playing defense. KP, Thon Maker, Dragan Bender etc just so many variables but I hope he ends being that good the track record just isn’t great for his game
