      Some people believe this was how they dated the Mellenial reign of Christ...but, I can't figure out Why they would build Forts at that time...as the Bible says they will Not learn War during this period...So, maybe the structure never was a Fort...but, something else??? Wondering...I'm not saying I agree with the above view...but...still studying.

      looks like the French went looking for something. an artifact maybe? 3 years to look for it requiring them to destroy part or the walls and the ground? Then once De Galaud found what he is looking for, he just abandons the fort. Then he travels to other exotic locations after he goes back to France and meets with the king and plans a bunch of other similar missions. Looks like they are collecting a bunch of artefacts with significant strategic value.

    Well done....I think it's pretty obvious that something was found on the site of the fort when it was found, and the HBC decided to enhance it with a modern overlay; the idea and science of the "star fort" design was well known by 1700AD. A pre-existing structure would significantly cut down on the time and effort required to build a different structure. As well, finding Masonic symbols carved into military structures is not unusual, as "military lodges" were becoming widespread in European regiments by the early 1700's. Also, record keeping at this time was pretty spotty by modern standards, and should be looked at with a weather eye.
    However.
    I find the _"SLU SH"_ carving to be a smoking gun, because "someone" clearly knew that Hudson Bay was a central pivot point for the North Pole's progression, as that is the only reason to write something like that. Whatever purpose the prehistoric structure was built for, the original builders clearly knew about this feature of the location, as did those who came later, both French and English. I have come to the conclusion that there was a great deal more activity going on in North America - at least - prior to 1800 than most realize, and that history has been deliberately sanitized as a result...but they couldn't hide everything, and simply dismissing questions about the subject is increasingly failing to dissuade the curious.
    Keep at it.

    • @OntarioAtOrion
      @OntarioAtOrion Год назад +2

      I love what you have said. I came to a similar conclusion about the SLU SH meaning it could be a past location of the North Pole. The Ancient people called North America Turtle Island and the idea of the turtles shell turning on its axis makes perfect sense to me that it was a past North Pole sight. I think there has been an attempt to cover up the actual timeline of history, and this fort helps prove there's more to the official narrative.

    Could this fort be a spot of a past North Pole? I saw some research about ancient sites lining up with places the actual north pole used to be over tens of thousands years ago. That could be what SLU and SH means. The spot of the North Pole where they thought the giant turtle/North America would turn around that axis maybe? Does that even make sense lol? • @schizoidboy
    @schizoidboy 8 лет назад +3

    The design of the fort is on par with the designs in use from the time period, especially when it comes to the use of cannon. The reason it probably took so long to construct the fort was probably due to the weather, if you only have four months of warm weather you aren't going to have long to construct a fort. Back when castles and cathedrals were being made they always halted major construction during the winter. Plus a governor wanted the walls narrower than was recommended which also prolonged the construction. Also the transportation of materials is also a factor in to why it took so long. As to why there were no soldiers at the fort it should be kept in mind the American Revolution was being fought at the time and perhaps the British did not consider the fort to be important at the time. The war was not just fought in America but also around the rest of the world as well including India and the Caribbean. In a war you're going to be stretched for manpower and you're not going to be defending any place you do not think is important. The British might have thought the invasion through Hudson's Bay to be impractical. Not to mention this was comparatively small force and if they couldn't destroy the fort they would have to move on.

      @thurt1eht  4 года назад +7

      @Schizoidboy I appreciate your insights, though I don't agree with everything you said, you do make a lot of good points especially about the American revolution and soldiers being stretched thin. Indeed this war was being fought all over the world, and this phenomenon of building structures that they did not have enough soldiers to properly man is not exclusive to the British, but also apparently occurred with the French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Dutch. That being said, there are still many questions that remain, like the structure's relationship to the Masons, the motivation to put 40+ years into its construction, and why mortar was added to the walls that do not help with the structure's integrity, well after the building was being used. One thing is for sure this structure is amazing, one of Canada's hidden treasures, and the people responsible for building it should be remembered and appreciated. I am working on a follow up video to this one and I'll be sure to address and include some of the points you've made. Though we may disagree with certain aspects of historical accounts, it's important that we continue to have civilized discussions and share our theories and speculations. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts !

      There may be some truth to that. The oldest masonic symbol found in Canada resides at this fort, and the Masons, to put it lightly, are not the biggest fans of organized religion.

    Your history is a bit wobbly. You are working too hard to create a sensational drama. Not necessary. The true story is dramatic enough. You should read a bit more actual history of the HBC, re-do this video.

    The reason they upgraded the Fort to stone was because it had already burned down once. I saw a lot of flaws in this videos research.

      If the fort had never seen battle, then they must have burned the fort down themselves. So that may have been accidental or intentional. But if it had not seen battle in all those years, why rebuild it in the same location? Why expense so much resource and labour rebuilding a fort that is clearly enough of a hindrance as to have burned down without having seen a battle? Doesn't that seem odd?
      If you found lots of flaws in this video, what are some of the others?

      1 more point in addition to the things pointed out by what question ; the Hudson's Bay Company had many forts that burned down, yet churchill was the only fort that was rebuilt with stone. Before you say it was because churchill was an important fort, according to HBC, it wasn't. Not even close. The most profitable fur trading post was making more than 10 times what churchill was making. Yet another point ; almost everytime a fort burned down, it was rebuilt in a different location because the ruins were so bad it was too difficult to rebuild. Read about York Factory to see this. Too many things don't add up.

      ya lots of trees grow in churchhill?big solid trees to build a sturdy fort?

      they would of had a harder time hauling trees to that site then they would of cutting the stone?

    Interesting video. However if I may play Devil's Advocate... the native Canadians and the French settlers had a peaceful relationship. There was no peaceful relationship between the native population and the British occupiers of Canada. The Canadians never agreed to joining Britain it was stolen from France. Perhaps if they really upgraded the fort it was because they knew the British were coming. It is curious to note that star forts appear around the world in countries that were once French populations.

      Interesting thought Loagun ! However from my understanding this fort was built by James knight for the Hudson Bay Company, who was loyal to and supported by the British crown. I am making a follow up video with more info (and better audio) perhaps this will shed some more light on the subject. Thanks for watching and commenting !
