its like history change places from time to time and we dont talk about Mongolia outside of Genghis kan era, like nothing happened there (if there is no war).
Passed through Mongolia a few years back on a Moscow/Beijing train journey. Didn't stop there, but what impressed me most about Ulaanbaatar were the yurts on the slopes of the hills surrounding the city. It felt very evocative - the old life and the new, two aspects of Mongolia in one place!

Not a sandy desert, primarily. Mostly scrubland. Also this video is only really on the fringes of the Gobi. I'll potentially do something in the future properly down in the desert near Sainshand.
Scrubland, that makes sense. And Kudos on the sudden increase in production quality! (Camera motion could still be slightly improved though, it's a bit rigid in some places, 9:04, and try less shaking when moving around places such as stairs) (or it could just be my laptop)
Maybe it's just me, but I'd be extremely interested in a short video on Stalin era Mongolia, we always hear about interwar European Russia and to a lesser extent Siberia but I know almost nothing about what was going on in the southern republics and satellite states at that point.
Thanks to the non-aggression-treaty with germany, Stalin was able to defeat the japanese army at Khalkhin Gol, Mongolia in 1939. The diversion of Sovietunion and China started because of the XX. party congress of the CPSU and because of the anticommunist Krushev.
Thanks to Ribbentrop - Molotov Pact aka Nazi Germany - Soviet Union Friendship Treaty, sovereign nations of Estonia, Latvia Lithuania and Eastern Poland was occupied by Nazi ally Soviet Union. As a Lithuania who lost multiple family members to executions and forcibly deportation to slave Labour Camps, i can say that USSR did only one great thing, and that is, it collapsed and proved how Socialism, Marxism and Communism are brain dead ideas for brainwashed masses.
Nah, it happened because Mao was an absolute nutter. Khreschev, like other leaders of his generation, was a committed communist, but he was also interested in stability. The Soviets and Western leaders had serious differences and constantly sought to undermine each other, but they played by certain rules and remained within certain boundaries. It doesn't hurt that the Chinese were unhappy with being the junior partner in the former alliance. They didn't care that much about ideology, but they did care about being so much weaker and so reliant on the Soviets.
@@Bunnyroo7 Nah, its happened because Kruschev was a traitor and a liar, and he didnt managed to build soviet economy properly, promoting ecnomic policies not so "socialist". Chinese were only smart to see what Kruschev was really like and want nothing with him.
