The island of Chorao is one of the biggest island of Goa. The population is also big, for an island - 5400 inhabitants.
It was known, long time ago, as the island of fidalgos - Ilha dos Fidalgos - because many nobleman lived here during Portuguese time.
To reach there, from Panjim, you need to take the ferry boat in Ribandar. It is one of the longest crossings but it is worthwhile.

My mum lived here...I remember the days when I was young and used to visit Charao.....besides the bird sanctuary....Charao is also famous for it;s beautiful hills of cashew plantations and a"Christ The King" statue on the top of the hill!!!....The most serene place in Goa!!!!

If you so love your Portuguese names so much then go to Portugal or else they should go to a temple and embrace Hinduism.. legally they should get a Sanskrit name including you..
