Can't wait till we're in that heavenly choir... when we _all_ have voices like this! Think of how it is going to sound, millions of us singing rapturous praise to Him Who saved us!
This is a song played at funerals on my side of the family for many years. George Bennard (who wrote it) died the year I was born (1958) & I must have heard many versions, but the one I want at my funeral is from Al Green its beautiful & soulful & given depth by him but this version I have just heard on here is my next favourite. Beautifully done guys.
God bless you Kaoma. Thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity for a moment to forget about all of the nastiness currently taking place in the world. I was taken back to a time when my Father-in-Law would play this hymn for me on an old organ he had sitting in the corner of his trailer. Praises be to God!
"And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross." - Philippians 2:8 Beautiful singing. Beautiful song. Thank you!
I thought it was 4 brothers that looked just like each other. Wow you did great on both singing and making it look like your twins were singing with you. What a talent you have.
Y'all are something else! I know that God is smiling listening to this... brought tears to my eyes... it was my Daddy's favorite hymn, God rest his soul!
I HAVE NEVER HEARD THIS HYMN SUNG MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN THESE FOUR MEN SING IT ACAPELLA..IT REALLY GAVE ME CHILLS...I HOPE TO BE ABLE TO LISTEN TO MORE IN THE FUTURE..

Oh, what precious memories! If I close my eyes I can almost hear my daddy singing sooo many of these songs you've sung. Your voice is so smooth and beautiful like his was. Thank you for being a blessing in using your God given talent. May He richly bless you in return. ~Pam
Acappella music is how we are commanded to sing according to the New Testament, no mention of Instruments, besides with Acappella music, you can understand the words being Sung. This Group has Beautiful voices & they do a wonderful job singing Praises to God
My soul has been weary.. my eyes have been holding back tears for quite some time. Your voices... are voices of Angel's. Thank you for singing and sharing "The Old Rugged Cross" with the world. It's through the Gospel of the word of the Lord that we shall be delivered, and I would like to take a monet to thank you again. God Bless You all, and I pray you will live in great joy, peace and prosperity for sharing the Spirit of the story of our beloved Savior, and what His sacrifice has done for the world.
+Monica Kline This is ONE man named Joseph T. Webster... but I agree, he is awesome. Thanks to technology he is able to make marvelous recordings online.
i was browsing radio.garden, listening to lindin FM on the faroe islands and here i am. after looking for this version of the song for 20 minutes. congratulations my guy, you were on european radio and we LOVED it
Guys, we're living overseas.... and you make me homesick. I'm from New Orleans, and there is such a rich multi-ethnic mix of culture there. I miss the African American blessing of so many friends. Thanks for bringing tears to my eyes for saints I may not see until we cross over the Jordan. Blass ya guys!
What a blessing this group is. I can not stop watching and listening and sharing with all my friends . Hope some day to see and hear more if i could locate where they perform .
your songs/ministrations have been a healing balm to my Spirit. I have been spiritually down for some months now and these just raised my spirit. I am so glad to have benefited from this fuel. Thank you so much. and the voices are AWESOME!
Your version of this song is beyond beautiful !!! This song has special meaning to me as my great uncle Ed Mieras was a friend of the author George Bennard....On December 29, 1912, Reverend George Bennard and his song leader, Reverend Edward E. Mieras, began a series of evangelistic meetings in the Sturgeon Bay Friends Church. These soul stirring meetings continued on until the final night of January 12, 1913. It was on this last night that the hymn, “The Old Rugged Cross,” was first sung in public.
Kaoma, I have to say, it's hard to pick a favorite but the words of The Old Rugged Cross are so meaningful I think this has to be my favorite!! Of course your voice in the different parts is wonderful and it lifts me up with joy!
Amazing,,, all to the honour and praise to our Lord God Almighty,,,, Psalms 150:6 "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord" amen
Wow! You are have amazing voices!! That was so beautiful!! God gave you an amazing gift and you are using it well!! Thank you......may God bless you all!
Is it cold in here? My goosebumps won't go away. GOD BLESS, KAOMA. What an instrument you have. Your talent runneth over! Thank you for sharing this with the world. Almost a million and a half views - may they never end.
You have such an amazing gift! The fact that you use it to praise the Lord makes it all the more beautiful. God bless you and yours this Easter Sunday!
When I heard you sing, I thought I heard angels sing. The Father has blessed you to sing His praises and to led people to Him that gets more meaning from praising songs than any other way. Keep being His vessels to minister through song. God bless and keep you.
Never get tired of listening.. or sharing it on Facebook with others.. Wonderful Kaoma.. God has blessed You,, continue to sing His Praises..When I am down I come here and am lifted up .. Thank You so much for sharing Your voice with Us.
I've heard and sung this song many times in my life. Never as beautiful as this! Wow!! Thank you for sharing your gift with us! Hope to hear more! God bless you dear brother in Christ. :)
Amen! What an awesome God we have to bless us with Kaoma to sing us a hymn that reminds us what an awesome God we have - to send His only begotten Son, His "dearest and best," for a world of lost sinners to be slain.
Yes I did! Since it was on another video site, I don't think there was a way to send you a message from there. I shared it on Pinterest and FaceBook too (I think). I meant to go back and find where you first shared the link and thank you, but I got distracted. I think I closed the RUclips tab by mistake that I had left open so I could just go back there directly. I know, bad excuse. I'm sorry. Thank you so much - I loved it! You know what though? I don't know how long ago that recording was made, but you have gotten even better with pitch and pronunciation. I imagine most people wouldn't notice, but I am very "hearing" oriented and music is so important to me. You nailed this one! (oops, no pun intended) I have a passion for the old traditional hymns (so much scriptural truths in them) and you certainly are doing your part to keep them alive. Also, I really really liked hearing your beautiful bass, along with the rest of your parts of course! This one has a great balance of all the harmonies. Looking forward to hearing your next performance/masterpiece/offering/blessing. Blessings to you too my friend! - Janet
