Paul passed away in 2020 at age 103. May God shower him with His mercy, and allow him to fix many radios up in Heaven.
😢
What a wonderful man! He is happily fixing radios in Heaven!
How sad...This was awesome...Made me think of my gramps....
Amen to that!!
Things in heaven don't break God bless you all
He is so fortunate to live through the golden age of radio. I kind of envy him.
I am not much less and I also am addicted to radio. . They are so misterious because they work in cooperation with propagation which is out of human control.
@@Mikexception Yessir it's the magic of radio that will always attract someone to this art. How your voice can travel wirelessly through the earth bouncing off the Ionosphere, reaching tens of thousands of miles, depending on time and day and year. Just fascinating. God Speed to you Sir!
The man looks great for his age. This is proof that activity is the key to a long, productive life with a sharp mind.
Heru- deshet and young blood dont forget thats. he should have his grand kids donate blood to him so he can be young again
if you rest, you rust.
Something to be said to be working with your brain every day. This dude was sharp.
May he rest in peace. Great guy.
The oldest radio I've restored to a working condition with original parts is a Radiola M40 from 1927, but not the oldest electronic.
That's a deskfan from 1893, repainted and brassblades polished to a prestene look with new clothwires.
He reminds me of a gentleman I knew in the 1960s, Walt Nettles. He owned the Burstein-Applebee franchise in Tucson, AZ, and was an old ham (late 80s, when I knew him). He told tales of the GOOD OLD days of amateur radio...tales of rotary spark gaps, chemical rectifiers, and coherers.
My father would take me into that store when I was a child back in the day it was on the corner of Broadway and Rosemont in Tucson AZ those were the good ole day's for sure.
Coherers are fascinating things.
@@Songwriter376 Indeed they are, as are spark gaps & chemical rectifiers. And the art of making & using them will be revived, soon after we're hit by the next coronal mass ejection.
@@Songwriter376 And keep your slide-rule well-lubed, and make sure your log & trig tables are printed on long-lasting, "acid free" paper.
Chemical rectifiers? Borax solution?
A great man. Congratulations for years of dedication.
I admire him to the utmost. I am 77, a retired Electronics Eng., that now has poor hearing and site. Wish I could still do the repairs of tube and transistor equipment again. More power to him.
If I’m correct, he passed Nov 20th 2020. Rest In Peace Paul ❤
Such a humble down to earth gentleman. RIP
Everyone needs to thank him for his double service to his country and it's citizens . RIP Paul Colosimo .
I repair radios and I just hope I am still here and still doing it when I reach his age!
Me too! I'm 76 and going strong! I have had covid delta and covid omicron both with no problems! No jab! I have the genes for long life like this guy! See you in 25 years!
Im turning 80 this summer and these days I put in 4 to 5/hours in my radio repair shop, fixing, building and restoring vintage radio receivers. I also teach and encourage others about my trade. My favorite ventures are restoring vintage test equipment. Of late I am building a Theremin, but I doubt I will ever play play it.
He was a very nice man ,wish he was close so I could meet him ,I am into old radios too.
98 years humming along to his own tune "neh neh neh neh neh" lol I love him! Hope he's still around
No doubt he worked with leaded solder is whole life too. Seemed sharp as a pin til the very end. RIP Paul.
Thank you for all your service.
USN DIVER 1967-1973
Maybe if I keep fixing old radios, I'll make it, too!? My 1929 Apex console is here in the living room. I'm glad I was able to bringing back to life.

"Not built to last ". ..so true.
Great video. I wish i could work with you some. Id love to learn how to fix old radios.
I wish they would make stuff to last and be repairable again.
Que lindo. 98 Años y todavia lucido. les deceo otro 98 años, de todo corazon. siento respecto a mi colega y mucha almiracion.
Amazing!!
God Bless Him.
You’re right. They don’t make things to last anymore. From the 60’s on back they made things with quality that lasted and was made to be fixed, either tube or solid state. Though the tubes had better sound in stereo systems. Both solid state and tubes had their places.
I would of love to meet this gentleman. I myself love old radios mostly CB radios. I could od learned a lot from him. Rest now you are in great hands with God.
a nice story of a colleague in a nice time from the beginnings of radio
God Bless You Paul , and Thank You !

Paul Colosimo lived another five years after this interview. He died November 20, 2020 at the age of 103 (born October 21, 1917).
Its such a shame we've now lost essentially all of the Greatest Generation.
Fantastic.

Now if only there was a guy like that HERE!!! I've got a FEW radios that need fixing!!!
What a great deep faith in the Lord he has !
True example of success for everyone to follow.
I bet he could make a great guitar amp!
God bless you, Paul. 🏆
Удивительный человек.
I would do the same as him but I live in a town were you can't get vintage Radios or TVs.
Well that was something.
Mestre do viver corretamente. Parabéns!
I should be so lucky!
These radios are mentioned on the tv. Show Dragnet.
See inhaling solder fumes is good for ya.
I totally agree. Another common practice, which aids longevity, is that when one hand holds the iron, the other, the component, we hold the solder between our lips. This has the advantage of ensuring we get our minimum daily requirement of lead.
i want to be like him
something else
👏👏👏👏👏👏
HE BELIEVES IN GOD GOD BLESS H.

"Take that millennials" - shut up, the millennials I know work harder than the older guys.
Это не производить горы одноразового мусора под видом продукции пережегая на его производство МВт энергии.
Hifi stuffs, thats money maker
I'm suddenly glad I won't be going to heaven because people here say there will be radios. That implies that there will also be television and then (logically) social media. I thank...er.... something that I am a atheist. Facebook, Twatter (X), forever? No thank you.
