Thanks heaps man. Picked up a Hicence 55inch TV off hard rubbish in Melbourne and fixed the LED's using your video. Pretty much got a big smart TV for $50! My brother will be very happy with his birthday present.
Thank you. You just saved me $300. I was a little nervous at first. But following your video made this pretty simple. This may be my new hobby. Thanks again
Excellent video detailing the task. I just replaced the LED's yesterday on my NS-48D510NA15. It is now back on my wall and good as new. I did see one LED blown out and burnt. (Had to be my issue). Thank you for your time to post your video.
Thats decent, coz. I have an Imperial 50" and it wont power on. I dont think I'll attempt doing it myself but you've given me a proper basic tutorial on the flat screen tv repair.
I honestly didn't watch the video but the trick is your tv is automatically set to have your backlight at 100 all the time as a factory setting this causes those bulbs to burn out and takes about 2 years or less. The tv needs to have the led lights replaced but after you get it fixed make sure you turn the backlight setting below 20 it'll make the lights last longer.
Wow, very good diagnosis, I was wondering why my tv was doing this, and you could not have explained it and demonstrated it any better. Mine was intermittent for some time, and I'd re-plug in the hdmi cable for whatever reason that worked to get it to work again, now, it's not doing the trick any more and I see the image with a flashlight under the screen but still black. I can't find any tricks to get it to pop back on again. I certainly will not be repairing it myself but it's nice to know whats wrong with it. These are so cheap I'll just be buying another one.

I hope it works after all I'm still saving $100 compared to buying the same thing brand new.. call it wild but anything is possible!

I have a 55" Insignia with Black Screen. I have Sound, and I can see an image when I shine a flashlight on the screen. BUT, I only get 25vdc on the LED power cable both plugged in and removed. Installed a new Power Supply and same 25vdc. I've ordered a TV LED tester to make sure its the LEDs before I completely disassemble the TV. Your video shows hundreds of volts, so is it my Power Supply?
First of all thank you for showing this information. I think it's absolutely appalling how these expensive TVs just don't last. I've had to last me exactly one year to the date and the third one only lasted a year-and-a-half one was a curved screen 50 4K smart in one was an LCD flat smart t.v. 55 4K and third was the RCA ruko TV 55. All having the same exact issue one moment it's a beautiful picture the next the screen goes black. All TV's still have sound but no picture. The first two I can't even access it's like is if they glued the back of the TV plastic right onto the frame there's literally no screws. Ironically I still have a sticker approximately 3 in thick 10 year old rizzio 50 TV that works perfectly fine. Let me knock on some wood now. I'm going to try your trick to see if I can get any one of the three that went black to work.
Thanks for the video! Very helpful. I think i have the same problem... LEDs!! How do you know what model no. To get for the leds?? Is it the same as the s/n for the tv??
I have the Insignia 55 inch 4k smart TV from Best Buy. Mine powers on fine, but while watching in mid-show, the screen goes dark while the audio continues on. Most of the time this seems to happen when the screen is transitioning, like between episodes of a Netflix show, or heading to an ad/commercial break on Hulu where the screen is supposed to go dark, it just never comes back up! If I turn it off and on again, the picture comes back, but only temporarily. And the timing is random as to how long in between. I saw some trick where I shine a flashlight into the screen, and I can see that there is still a picture it is just too dark to see normally. Is this fixable or is the set just done? (tv is just barely 2 years old...and the only device in recorded history that I purchased from Best Buy and DIDN'T get the geek squad plan...)
thank you for your tips, i was given a TCL android TV that works for a couple minutes up to about 10-12 when i last tried, then the screen go's black 'sound is still on 'and i can change channels and other operations, i also can see shadows in the darkness, your idea to use a torch to see if it is a picture will help, but like your fix, it could be a LED strip or loose connection that' with it warming up maybe the problem my only other thought could be a component starting to fail (LED strip), these are my thoughts, like you i will eliminate throw the process ..cheers
Not sure if you still monitor this but have a question. I have a 2 yr old Insigna NS-50DF710NA19. While watching it the entire screen went black. Sound and all kept playing. Flashlight test showed backlight issue. I did your test and there are two sets of reds and two sets of blacks coming off power board. From chasis to red I get 36 Volts. Nothing on the black. Unplugged LEDs and same voltage. With power off I get 23 Volts to LEDs. I tried ohm test but I don't get anything from red to black on connector unplug. (Not sure I am testing right) Does it sound like it could be power board vs LEDs?

I have a insignia TV it turns on the back light comes on but the screen is black and no audio either any Idea what could be wrong I suspect the mainboard
I've never heard of that brand. Did a quick search on shop jimmy and looks like it's hard to find parts. As for troubleshooting, I would follow the same steps. Can you see an image while using a flashlight...if so, check the power to the LED's, then the LED's themselves, after that I'd look to swap the inverter board (or main board if teh tv has it all in one place). Also, you'd want to check to see if the TV is worth fixing, at one point, the cost or repair parts and time outweigh the value and buying a new tv is the better path.
I have an Insignia 50" led roku tv and the backlights dont work. Did the flashlight test and lcd is making an image. Tested the leds with the jeston led tester power supply and the all of the leds light. I did this while the tv was on and could see the image fine. All 3 branches of the led backlights work and are 32.5 volts. Does the system board tell the power supply to turn on or is the function only on the power supply board? Anyone come across this to find a common issue?
My problem is it says no channels found, there no cable or anything hooked up, but I just want to hook up the game, but it won't scroll to anything but T.V
Avoid these Insignia problems TVs and Tvs LED lighting in tv screen dying all together but if you already bought or buying these TVs.Just making sure your brightness settings 🔅 only 50-55% maximum amounts only 60% brightness settings. These lower brightness percentages settings will save your tv screen LED lighting screens from over working for brightness for screen. These lowering brightness save more of it works better to another 4-5 years can save tvs lives more easily.
Hello Ace, I was wondering if maybe you could help me out. I got an LG 70UK6190PUB for free since it was not working. She said she heard a loud pop, then had a black screen with sound. I first took off the back panel and seen that the IC on the T Con board had blown. I bought and replaced the T con board and still no luck. However, if I unplug the 1 side of the ribbon cable on the T con board and power it up, the left side of the screen works. Any other configuration and I get a totally black screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

What meters are you using in this video?
My problem is it says no channels found, there no cable or anything hooked up, but I just want to hook up the game, but it won't scroll to anything but T.V
Black screen but I hear the sound.. I unplugged everything and still the same results..

@@scubadaddy3739 same
@@poser_dylan9653 my screen just turned black idk why
Thank you for the video. I found a black LED in my tv, same insignia tv in the video. Do you have a part number for the LED kit you used?

Avoid these Insignia problems TVs and Tvs LED lighting in tv screen dying all together but if you already bought or buying these TVs.Just making sure your brightness settings 🔅 only 50-55% maximum amounts only 60% brightness settings. These lower brightness percentages settings will save your tv screen LED lighting screens from over working for brightness for screen. These lowering brightness save more of it works better to another 4-5 years can save tvs lives more easily.
Do you know what you will work for a roku tv? Tried to find it in link.
It's the led strips of light inside of your tv that need to be replaced. After you get it replaced or buy a new one you need to go to a setting called "backlight" on all your tvs in your house(some tvs don't have the setting) and set it to anything below 20.
@@kron9597 Thank you for the reply!!Are you pretty certain this is the problem? If I do the flashlight test I don’t see anything. I thought it might be the main board but I haven’t got around to figuring out how to test that yet. This is my first time attempting to repair a TV so it’s all new to me.
@@bulkynerd4106 try hitting the menu button on your tv so that your tv will actually give you something to see. If that doesn't work then your problem most likely lies elsewhere. I didn't perform repair I had a local tv guy drop by to do it.
How to solve this problem brother❤️
Have you seen this problem & repaired a Sharp 50" roku tv?

I have this same model. When I plug in there is a red light in lower right corner. When I turn tv on, red light flashes for about 10 seconds, then goes off. No sound. No screen images. Any ideas on my problem?

Iam having the same type of issue on my phone, its a redmi note 8.
actually my phone fell in the water and it was there for about 3 to 4 secs and when i took it out it was working for aroun 30 secs and later onn i dried it up, now what has happened is the phone does work but i can't see anything, i need to use a flashlight to see the screen some kind of dark but lightly transparent blackness has come over it.
Please can you help me on this issue ?
I have led lights on my tv my tv keeps turning of and on bc so are the leds what wrong
Just have to say all my LEDs are working I'm just not getting a picture could it be a tcon strip?
If the screen lights up, but you get nothing at all, The first thing I would assume is the main board, where video is processed.
Why will my bruhm tv have the power on yet will not boot up?
If it’s only one light that’s not working do I still have to change the whole thing
Led lights in your tv went out. Also known as backlights either get them replaced or buy a new tv. Whatever you decide to do make sure you go to the backlight setting on your tv and set it to anything under 20 to keep them going way longer.
So mine is blank it’s a 65 inch umm I can’t hear it but it turns on n idk wtf to do I might just give it away

How and where to order the right new LED for my insignia tv?
Sorry for the delayed reply, I hardly get on anymore. My go-to parts source is a site called shop jimmy
Can you fix my LG TV?
Super bravo👍🍻
Hi my Mi 55 inch sometimes goes suddenly black and once after unplugged power cables. Few minutes after on the tv entering mi logo and main menu appears and again goes black. If anyone have solution 🤔 pls let me know.
on Samsung tv when power off the screen, i don't no
Mine is producing a little over 400v dc at the led molex plug when leds are plugged or not whatis the problem
I'm working on one now. 400v can be normal on some of these. Check the wires going to the LEDs for open circuit/infinite resistance! If you get that then there is burnt out LEDs!
Mine works but randomly shuts down
my smart shows Welcome notes but not its menu
This is the same exact issue
How do you know what strip to buy
Usually when 1 strip goes bad all of them are gonna follow behind. You have to know your tv model so you can get the right strips.
