About to graduate and start working in the mental health field. One of the growing concerns that professors were talking about in many of my Therapy courses, is the issue of self diagnosis. Over the years it's been creating issues of pathologizing otherwise normal neurotypical behavior, doctor shopping for someone who *believes* they have a diagnosis, and will swap therapists and doctors until they match with one that gives them the diagnosis they believe they have, even if they never get it. It's going to be a challenge that Psychiatrists and Therapists will have to be combatting for years to come. The online tests are not very reliable for ANY mental health diagnosis, and that includes Autism.
The reason I hate tiktok. There are too many people saying what's wrong and right about mental health. I'm ADD/ADHD and the amount of misinformation and harmful "solutions" is egregious.
@@ellieechoes You're exactly right, there is a lot of misinformation out there, particularly on social media websites. It's harmful but it gets a lot of views sadly. It's a real challenge for mental health professionals when you have a client/patient that comes in and they think they have a personality disorder or Autism or ADHD, because they saw a tiktok about them not responding to text messages immediately. It's why one of the requirements for diagnosis in the DSM is noticable and impactful troubles on Social Relationships or Ability to function/participate in society.
I’m a new college student studying Psychology, and I realized that my generation and those after have become more and more desensitized to mental illnesses/disablities, to the point that they see depression and autism as “personality traits” rather than legit issues that actually hinder some people. Mental issues have become so trivial that people just slap the labels on everything with no regards, fucking disgraceful.
Firstly congratulations for graduating and starting your career. Secondly… yeah this self diagnosis nonsense has to go, especially before it gets dangerous.
Ya the one with her seeing that she has slight autism traits, and he like "yup you have autism". I honestly thought he got the vshojo girls to do it as a joke originally
Appending all the previous stuff to this, his desire to label others as “fellow autists” feels like an attempt to create a stronger “bond” with them, and if viewed maliciously, perhaps his way of getting some of his more creepy behavior to pass under the radar or to possibly gaslight them into thinking some of their reactions are wrong (when it would be convenient for him). The cult of labels is pretty insidious because of how it uses labels to create unearned trust and teach people to not question some things.
I can't even diagnose patients without a proper license and yet this Twitch ambassador is going around diagnosing people with Autism or other mental disorders. Absolutely unprofessional and disgusting. Who the eff screened this dude?
You're not alone on that front. I'm certain at this point that this guy is a groomer and/or an abuser. His lack of respect for boundaries screams "possessive stalker", and his bizarre fixation with diagnosing girls, "obsessive fetishist".
Just started watching & as a diagnosed person with ASD, I can say No One in the ASD community goes “You are more Autistic than Me, POG” like we don’t compete for how autistic we are lmao in fact we dislike terms like high-functioning
Also that message "guuuurl you don't need to talk to medical professionals, they don't get you, but I get you bb now video call me in the shower Because I get you"
EvilToaster gives me big Arcadum vibes (If you know who that is and you were around way back in the day then you know what I mean.) and I really really don't like it. Like he's INCREDIBLY manipulative and it's disgusting how persistent he is.
The autism test that they are using is actually quite accurate, surprisingly enough as that may be. It is NOT an alternative to going to a professional, but that test is widely regarded as being far more accurate than anything else most people have access to outside of professionals. Nothing is an alternative for seeking professional help. Though online and in the younger generations there is a general consensus that if you don't have "insert neurological disorder here" than you are lying and just essentially haven't found the right one for you. People adopt neurodivergencies like pets and don't actually do anything productive with potential diagnosis, only to show them off like a badge of honor. It is abhorrent at the lack of care people, and let's be honest children, are putting into their mental health, they slap a label on themselves and all of a sudden that makes things better. Labels labels and more labels and suddenly that makes up who you are and not your personality or who you are as an individual. It's a dangerous mentality to have and it needs to be curb stomped before it's too late lmao
Just because you have certain behaviors that are associated with whatever mental disorder doesn't mean you have said mental disorder. When I was younger, many of my family members thought I was nonverbal autistic just because I was very quiet, but when tested, I was just a normal boy that was quiet. If you suspect you have some kind of mental disorder, get tested by doctors, don't self diagnose.
Something like 70% of mental disorders have shared traits to them, just like medical (as in you're sick or going to die) all share like 70% of the same pathology. "I feel like I'm gonna vomit" well you're not going to go straight to "Cancer" diagnosis, you want to rule out food poisoning, allergies, motion sickness, dehydration, etc. And that's the problem with with mental disorders. People self-affirm that "I must be trans" or "I must have Autism" because someone told them they sound like they have it, and then when they go to a doctor with experience diagnosing that and find out that they don't (or more likely "you do not have Autism, you have a bad friend",) that friend doesn't stop trying to affirm them.
Rima: "we are going into the second Google doc to hit the evil toaster towers" *Meanwhile Zen quietly distances from Evil Toaster* THEY HIT THE PENTAGON! THEY HIT THE PENTAGON!
As someone with autism if you want to know if you have autism or any other mental or neurological disorder, you should go to a psychologist for proper testing to get a proper diagnosis on what you have though testing because if you self diagnosis or just rely on a therapist, you might not be able to get the actual help you need due to you not properly knowing what you have.
see like. im okay with self diagnosis as long as there's awareness around it, as many people cannot afford to get diagnosed or getting one can ruin things for yourself (at least in the US it's tricky, since some diagnoses can stop you or make it FAR harder for you to move out of here or get access/assistance for things). BUT it's NEVER okay to self diagnose others at all, especially if you don't even have said disorder/illness/etc. frog seemed OBSESSED with doing armchair diagnosing people that never asked and he has no right to speak on any of it, especially when it seems like a weird obsession with others around him being autistic...
Ive got a default wariness of male Vtubers I dont know directly, and EvilToaster definitely doesn't help to alleviate my suspicions in the slightest. 😂
I wouldn´t take the medical/psycological advice from someone I met on discord, like come on you can´t just diagnose someone if you are not a professional yourself
Funny cuz I was recently banned from a Discord channel because I told someone " You can't self-diagnose yourself and you can't diagnose other people with mental issues unless you're a licensed professional and you're in a professional, unbiased environment, and even if you are, rule #1 of anyone in the medical field is, you CANNOT diagnose yourself" And I got attacked for it because " No you don't know what you're talking about, I looked it up on WebMD so I'm right" This also happened on a persons Discord who regularly mentions she wants to be a therapist by the way. When you openly encourage mental illness, you have no business being a therapist
You're telling me that the dude who is celebrating a feature you can't opt out of that allows other people to non-consensually force yourself on another streamer is an awful creep? Shock. Surprise. Oh what a world!
The whole thing about supporting self diagnosis is weird (not just eviltoaster but the anon contributor). If you think something's wrong, your first reaction should be to speak with a professional, not waste time on some random online test. It's not like a pregnancy test or a COVID test where there's a somewhat clear- cut answer and it's way too easy to manipulate some multiple choice test 18:49 Of course ET wouldn't be interested in helping people navigate the healthcare system... He would lose the chance to lord his "expertise" over vulnerable people and dole out "diagnoses"

oh great another student weighing in on things they haven't even began to practice lmao no shit bro its a bad thing.
There's an edit of Eviltoaster making Michi take the autism test and it's so creepy with all the context now.

Its a fabricated and forced trauma bond
I'm certain at this point that this guy is a groomer, an abuser, 6-offender, or some combination of all three.
I can't even diagnose patients without a proper license and yet this Twitch ambassador is going around diagnosing people with Autism or other mental disorders. Absolutely unprofessional and disgusting. Who the eff screened this dude?
this actually made me feel some sort of disgust as a person with autism. i think i need a long ass shower after watching this.

Eviltoaster:NO.. YOU HAVE AUTISM, I HAVE AUTISM, THIS ENTIRE COURT HAS AUTISM!!!!!!!
Wow the last year or so has just been nonstop drama with people skeletons coming out of the closet constantly.
Trouble sleeping? Autism. Lower back pain? Autism. Stubbed your toe on the corner of your desk this morning? Believe it or not, autism.
This guy is just creepy and awful. I'm so disgusted at him.
Also that message
"guuuurl you don't need to talk to medical professionals, they don't get you, but I get you bb now video call me in the shower
Because I get you"
He's the "Pepe and the autistic gf" meme but unironically.
He even has the frog fursona to match
The fact that i was therw when he encouraged Zen to take one of these live just makes me so much more uncomfortable now....
He got a bunch of them to do it live. It was very strange but at least for Zen people were saying it in chat that she might be. But nope just ADHD
Guy: Who Is Zen?
At that point just walk away.
EvilToaster gives me big Arcadum vibes (If you know who that is and you were around way back in the day then you know what I mean.) and I really really don't like it. Like he's INCREDIBLY manipulative and it's disgusting how persistent he is.
Which was unfortunate, since Zentreya was also there too.
@@TenshiKisai Yup, trust me I haven't forgotten and never will forget.

sounds like you got hoodwinked by the same autism PMA goofballs. you are insane to think an online self diagnosis test is "quite accurate" lmao

How did this guy become an ambassador? Is it something you apply for?
You only apply for it, if you are COMPLETELY devoid of morals, selfish and have a overall disdain for other streamers.
your vtuber model is super cute!! I love the colors 2. Purple 🔛🔝
To be fair a lot of vtubers are quick to self diagnose it’s really starting to get out of hand these days

This man reminds me of the
"Looking for a gf outside the mental health clinic" meme but he is "the mental health clinic"
17:06 in the states you can go to the doctor 1st if you want him to suggest some one or you can call the therapist directly to set up a appointment,

Has a person who went through the painstaking process of actually getting my diagnosis . . . This disgust me when people self-diagnose
Nousagi tripping on that Trump Koolaid, virtue signalling and clout chasing while trying to call it out... lost a lot of respect for him
when did that happen?
because nousagi didnt come up in this video or part one.
Are you talking about that last bit with Usagi Calamari? Because that's not Nousagi.
