I do remember a while hearing him discuss Hwei during a patch rundown where he got buffed when he was newer, despite many speculating that he was turbo op busted with the right playstyle. Basically, his argument (and this is a major oversimplification I believe) was that Hwei is one of the champions whose really difficult to master, but has high reward when mastered. He argues that it’s better to have the champ be a 48% winrate Hwei that doesn’t solo lose games even if it means onetricks will have access to the best mage in the game by far, as opposed to having a 46% winrate Hwei that will commonly ruin games when people are new to him but be relatively balanced in the hands of onetricks. If you do really care for more accurate context, then you can find the specific video on his RUclips channel and just check videos where Hwei is in the patch notes.
4:26 This is why I love finding strong off-meta picks (or underappreciated champ choices for normal positions for them), because there's plenty of broken good stuff that people don't nice because they're too busy one-tricking instead of trying to find what's actually OP. (A current example: Q max Cho'Gath, especially for mid/sup; AP bruiser build: RoA->Jak'Sho->deathcap Why is this broken rn? Q mana cost got reduced from 90 to 50, so you can spam his Q which does redonculous damage and is pretty easy to land if you time it when your opponent goes to last hit).
It's not exactly off meta. Sometimes the off meta stuff is the meta. Meta stands for most effective tactics available... doesn't mean most popular that's also strong.

There are plenty of high-impact champs that can go bot lane, ADC players just have perma brainrot and don't play them because they're meta slaves.

It's closer to "Do we put out that lil bonfire someone told us about or the burning benzin truck that's gonna explode any minute now?" type of choice Like, yeah, nerfing hidden op is good, but nerfing op that's already there and makes a lot of people upset right now is better
He’s artillery mage with burst mage scaling , his kit is overloaded with few draw backs to make choosing one abilities over the other nonexistent. He has max health damage, one of the strongest wave clear in the game ,passive that give more damage , slow target missing health damage free mana restore , fear, root , and pull ( not countered by tenacity) and a ult that slows you hard as nasus.( also all his cc scale for 60 % ap with one only being a skill shot) has escape tool when mages when most artillery mages that are super oppressive have to cc the enemy to escape while this character can do both
Why his win rate not stupid high most of his good better abilities are for solo targeting so he can win lane but lose the team fights, 2 he struggles against invis and untargetable assasins (can’t kill what you can’t see)
Found the dude who got gapped by a hwei in soloq. If he's so busted pick him up, let's see you miss every single spell and die to an enemy's whisper every time you step in lane. Just stop crying and learn how to play against him, it ain't hard
@@juan89525 like I said in second post they have the common theme of falling off after the laneing phase do to not having the best aoes. Never said he was broken his kit is just bloated with a bunch of stuff like why does his q do max health damage and have same ap ratios as most burst mages, they basically gave him max health damage for free even tho he’s a mid laner.

Hwie is broken af. The problem is Lux is 10x better, easier to play and been in the game for 14 years. Why put in all that time to learn Hwei's kit when I can press R on Lux every 20 seconds?

His damage is pretty low unless he gets ahead though. Any lane bully can destroy him unless Hwei is able to punish their mistakes.

Hwei is A lot better than lux in high elo, and I say this as a master lux main.
Hwei has more tools in his kit than Lux, so even if Lux can do her job better than Hwei can do her job, Hwei can do many more jobs than Lux can.
