      @@tobiasTbager you’ll love them. I raced 40mm Pathfinder Pro’s last season, and switched to 47’s this season. According to my Garmin data and race results I am definitely both faster and more comfortable on the 47’s.

    Best video explaining why Crux is DO-IT-ALL bike (Road + Gravel), I bought 2024 Crux S-Works (after Demoing Giant/Cannondale/Cervelo) and love it so much. Also one point it's SO LIGHT that it goes really fast, my S-Works is 16.75 (Tubeless + Pedal + Transfer SL 70mm). It's so good that I have stopped riding my other 3 bikes, I also took it on extreme trail - that was mistake Gravel bikes are not for trail. Best Trail bike I have ever ridden is Latest Specialized Epic 8 Pro/S-Works, it's better than my Spur.
    Specialized has best bikes in each category, also lightest.

    Nice to hear what you think, i might go with the same solution as i also want to spend 70% of my time gravel riding. What should i look for in gear changers, is electronic best for gravel also? or should i go for mechanical.

    • @tobiasTbager
      @tobiasTbager  4 месяца назад +1

      I would definitely go for electronic as it for me as been the most reliable on gravel. But it of course depends on your budget :)

      @@tobiasTbager Nice to hear that, Ive got mechanical right now, but every 500-800km my gear cable snaps from the dirt getting in there. While it is cheap to fix, its just annoying haha. Glad to hear that electronic is realiable on gravel too!

    You helped me sooo well for my decision. I tested the Grizl last week and a Crux and ordered a Crux Expert 1by-electro because it was soo nice to testride. So I decided for n+1 :) and keep my old budget racer CAAD10 which fits too well. It is too good to sell it and I will keep using it for trips in Europe, Alps, Brevets and also for long races like Flensburg - Viborg end of the month just around your corner. End of August I will test the Crux also in dirty Jutland and I am so excited...mange tak Tobias. Vi ses. Sven

    I actually have 2 gravel bike. A Cervelo aspero which I got during covid era cos it was the only one in my size I could get…and I wanted Not to be on the road as much as possible. Had 2 wheelsets, gravel and road. And now I have a Ritchey Outback. pretty full on gravel. Love both bikes. Aspero set up as a road bike now. It’s an odd set up for the 2 bikes but it works for me. I don’t race or go fast, it’s about the long miles when I recover from some real bad back issues.

    Did you tried to do some bikepacking with Crux? I am planning some bp trip but I am little concerned about if the bike is capable of handling cca 10-13kg of luggage. Also dont you have experience with paint abrasion from the velcro straps (of the bags), should I use protective foil? Thanks a lot!

    • @tobiasTbager
      @tobiasTbager  6 месяцев назад +1

      No I haven’t yet but my brother has.
      Not sure about how much weight it can take. But most bikes can handle about 100 kg of whole system weight, including you (depending on where you mount stuff I guess).
      For the Velcro straps I always use som electrical tape all the places any straps could rub the frame

    Same thoughts here.
    I have a Grizl and because of the wide clearance, slick road tires are weird on it. Thinking to switch to the new Grail, 2by groupset and two pairs of wheelset. Like you, I prefer gravel rides and road is just for training. One bike to do it all.

    Great video 🙂 I'm with you all the way. Last year I sold an Argon 18 road bike and and a Scott addict gravel while holding on to my S-Works Crux. I've had it repainted and upgraded to an electronic groupset plus bought an extra wheelset. It's worked like a dream. Only problem is: I recently crashed and broke the frame 😞 Right now I'm stuck with a 20 years old winterbike and a 10 year old MTB retrofitted with dropbars 😀

      I think the “old” Aspero could be a great do it all bike. Not sure about the new one though. It seems to be designed for more pure gravel racing with rough stuff in mind and bigger clearance. I have not ridden it but I would think it would feel a bit more sluggish on the road
